Thank You, Lord!

Dear Lord,

I just want to tell you how very grateful I am today for all the many blessings you have given me. Thank you, that I am alive and well, today. Thank you for preserving my life for your purposes, even though I don't know what those purposes are. They say I wasn't supposed to ever leave the hospital because of a heart defect at birth, but I did, and here I am 49 years later. And I think of all the babies that don't even make it to birth, those who don't ever make it home from the hospital, those who never make it to school, those who never make it to adulthood. And I thank you, Lord, that you have chosen me, for some reason.

Thank you, Father, that I am able to think clearly, that my mind functions properly, most of the time. Despite the fact that I have abused it with alchohol and drugs. Despite the fact that I have attempted to take my life on several occassions, you have preserved my mind, for your purposes. I think of the many who are born with disabilities in this area, and though I know that you also have a purpose for them, I thank you that you have chosen to give me the ability to learn and grow in wisdom and in knowledge.

Thank you, also for a body that still functions really well. Yes, I do have aches and pains and I have had to have some reconstruction work done. But I can still walk and run most of the time. I still have all my limbs and digits. I think of those who were born without these parts or these abilities and those who have lost them somewhere along the way, and I am so grateful that you have blessed me the way that you have.

Thank you, for a roof over my head, a bed to sleep in, clothes to wear, food to eat, clean water to drink and to keep myself, my home, my clothes clean. I think of the masses around the world who do not have one or more of these necessities today and I feel so priveledged to know that you have always provided me with these things.

Thank you so very, very much for allowing me to be born an American. For the priveledge of being one of a small percentage of the world population who can come to you openly and worship you. For the gift of being able to own and read your Holy word without fear of retribution from the government. I think of your children, my brothers and sisters around the world, who suffer trials, tribulations, torture and death, all because of their love for you and I am grateful that you have kept me free from these sufferings. That I have always been able to seek your face, your guidance, your wisdom without fear of repercussions.

But most of all, thank you for loving me. Thank you for your patience with me. For your continued mercy and grace. For never forsaking me, even when I have turned away from you. For always greeting me with open arms whenever I have come running home to you.

May I always have a heart that is filled with gratitude for all my blessings, Lord. May I always, each and every minute of each and every day, realize and acknowledge how very fortunate I am, to count every blessing and know that there are none of them small. May I never take any of them for granted but always be aware that I am partaking of something that many are doing without. And may I always acknowledge, that without you, none of them would have any value whatsoever. Help me to always remember that you give me everything I have and you are my reason for being.

In the name of my precious saviour, Jesus, I pray these things. Amen.

This is a beautiful prayer!! It reminds me that our prayers are the aroma that God breathes in while He sits on His throne!!!!WOW! It also reminds me that in heaven there will be billions and billions of moments like this for eternity! What a wonderful blessing our prayers are! God never meant for all prayers to stay in the closet and this is the reason. How much we would be missing if no one prayed allowed!

just have some info to share with you....

quoting Redbird: This being said, I believe that we have our Father's ear. If not, then what are any of us, who have been divorced and are looking to remarry, doing here on this site? For the Bible plainly teaches that for a divorced person to remarry is to commit adultery. Are we then to believe that the blood of Christ did not cleanse us of all our sins, past, present and future? And before anyone even says it, let me answer one question that I know will come up from this statement. Does this mean that we can deliberately sin and be forgiven? NO!!! God forbid! But I know that I never wanted to get a divorce, but God did not want me to continue in an abusive marriage to a unfaithful husband either. I know that God has better planned for me and that I am forgiven!

I would suggest that you question walking_man about your statements. Actually this is a misunderstanding caused by an error in translation of the Bible where "putting away" of a wife and "divorcing" of a wife were both translated as "divorcing". When a man "puts away" his wife, he is separating (legally) from her and therefore she is still legally married to him and this was done often in those times. This kept the woman unable to remarry, of course. But, if they "divorced", then remarriage was acceptable... This confusion is clarified when translated correctly. Paul (walking_man) has the information to explain this for you. God bless. Your sister in His love, Sharloa

Thank you, sis, I will get in touch with him on this. It has been something that has bothered me for a long time.
