Alright, I want to find out how many of my brothers and sisters are fellow Texans. If so let us know and tell us where you are living now (in Texas or elsewhere)

Are you currently living in Texas but are originally from somewhere else? Let us know that as well.

Have you ever lived in Texas? Tell us about it.

Me, too, sis. San Angelo, Texas is my birth place.

My birth dad was a gypsy, however, and we lived all over the country. Then my step-dad was an oil-man and we lived in several states as well as in Tehran, Iran. Married a military man and lived in Japan, Maryland and Massachusetts before coming back home to Texas. Currently live in Winters, just south of Abilene.

Ah, the green part of the state. Good place for celebrating Christmas with all those huge pine trees around.

Hey, we're not called the friendliest state in the union for nothing you know? After being away for 8 to 10 years, it was strange for a while to me to be driving down the road here and to have every driver that passed me going the opposite direction wave at me, and I was born here. We still do that, or at least a lot of us do. We also do a lot of other things that might make people from other states think we are strange. When I went to North Carolina in February, I would hold doors for other folks, male or female, especially if they were elderly or had little ones, and get the funniest looks.

Hey, this is true! I once worked at a truckstop and I had truckers tell me we are the friendliest people in all of the U.S.A.

I lived in the hill country, Marble Falls and Johnson City (home town of Lyndon Baines Johnson) for 30 years. Beautiful place!

I've actually been stopped in other states, when people have noticed my license plates, and have people comment about how kind and friendly people were to them when they visited here. It sure made me feel good to know that our state motto of being the friendly state is still being upheld.

To tell you the truth, when I got back after being gone for so long even the dry, flat scrubs of West Texas looked beautiful to me, sis. But Texas has it all, desert, coast-line, mountains, plains, hills, forests. I don't think there is another state in the union that can offer everything there is to offer, geography wise, like we can.

You darn tootin' it counts. If you ever lived in Texas you are a Texan in my book. If you ever once live here this place becomes a part of you that you never forget. There is something distinctly different about Texas that sets it apart from the rest of the country, the rest of the world. And that isn't just me talking, I've had loads of people from all over the world who know Texas when they don't know any other part of the country except maybe New York City. And people who have been here, lived here whose voices change when they talk about it, military people who've lived around the world, but who have a wistfulness about their memories of Texas. It's something that gets in their hearts or something.

you know, my friend, earthly knowledge may come from studies....and masters degrees, etc. but the knowledge and wisdom that come through abiding in Him, through the Holy Spirit, cannot be attained through any degrees. Qouting savednforgiven Wow Cisco, Ranger, Eastland, I lived in Cisco and Eastland. Ever heard of Moran?
I went my junior year in High School there, Heres a poem I wrote about it...
Moran Texas

There was a place I used to live
where everyone had lots of love to give
We were all equal
Just down to earth people
Loving each other
Like a sister or brother
Some of us were rich and some of us were poor
But all of us were welcome at the other's door
We did our own thing
With a natural swing
And if anyone new came to town
There were plenty to show them around
It was a small place
So there wasnt even one unfamilier face
We knew everything that went on
Gossip was as natural as a popular song
I was an unforgettable town
Another one like it , I have not found.
I will always carry this place in my heart.
The memories of it shall never part!sas

So nice to meet all of you fellow Texans...

Well, how did I miss this?
I lived in Texas for 10 years. Went to Grammer School, Jr. High, & High School there. We first moved to Dallas, then to Sherman.
I still remember the day President Kennedy was shot. I lived in Dallas, was in gym class, and we were all told to go sit and listen to an announcement over the loud speaker. It was a very sad day, I will never forget it.
Lots of old memories are popping into my head. hahaha
Looks like a great group of us Texans in here.
