 I’m just an old country girl
Never wanted much from this old world.
The grass is so cool and green and sweet
So soothing on this two tired old feet
I can’t say the same for a golden street.
But I’m just an old country girl

I’m just an old country girl
Don’t care too much ‘bout things of this world
I'd love an old cabin down by the sea
A lake or a river that's running free.
A big old mansion’s too grand for me
‘Cause I’m just an old country girl.

I know you have plans inside your mind
Plans of a very special kind
Of all kinds of wonderful things for me
Rewards for being what you want me to be
Beauty that no eye on this earth has seen
But I’m just an old country girl

So maybe you’ll meet this one request
And I promise that I will do my best
Just set aside one little corner for me
A place like you meant for this old world to be
With all of the critters you made running free
‘Cause I’m just an old country girl

If you think I’ve earned any jewels or crowns
Please keep them to place upon your brow
I don’t wear them in this world today
They’re just a nuisance that get in my way
I really don’t know what more can I say
But I’m just an old country girl.

Sis, my age may not be that old but my ways of thinking and living are pretty old-fashioned, I guess that's what I meant. Sometimes I feel ancient.
