Jon 4:9 And God said to Jonah, Doest thou well to be angry for the gourd? And he said,
I do well to be angry, even unto death.

1Sa 20:34 So Jonathan arose from the table in fierce anger, and did eat no meat the second day of the month: for he was grieved for David, because his father had done him shame.

2Sa 12:5 And David's anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan, As the LORD liveth, the man that hath done this thing shall surely die:

Is anger a sin? Or are there cases of anger that are not sinful?

I believe that there are times when our anger is not sinful. When we become angry at the sin in this world, when we become angry at the rampant immorality that is inundating our children, our families at every turn then we are not sinning. To not be angry, to remain complacent would be sinful.

We must, as Jonathan did when his father Saul was wrongly seeking Davids death, get angry at the sin that we see and refuse to be a part of it. We must stand up and fight it.

We are also right to get angry with sin in our own lives. Although David did not realize at the moment that he spoke of himself when he became so angry, he quickly repented when he was made aware that he was the man who had done the wrong. We must be willing to see the sin in our lives and become angry at our weakness, angry enough to conquer it.

But we must also beware that we keep tight rein on our anger, to control it that it not become a raging fire that ends up burning us or others. Like so many other things in life, anger controlled and for the right purpose can be a good and helpful thing but uncontrolled can be a destructful force.

Anger is a normal emotion - even God got angry - but if not in balance it can lead to all kinds of sin. Extreme anger is often a sign of unresolved issues or pain. Sometimes we might need some healing of the pain of our past. Just ask God to help you if this is the case. It worked for me!! Good post!!
