 Open the eyes of my heart, Lord
That I might see the true man
Hidden behind the earthly shell.

Blind these earthly eyes to those things
that would cause me to turn away
without bothering to know the inner person.

Prevent me from making decisions
based on worldly values
and a persons past.

Help me to realize that each of your children
Have suffered their own pain
Bear their own scars
And need the acceptance and love
of their fellow man.

Help me, dear Lord, to see them
With your eyes.

 Have you ever heard the Amy Grant song "Father's Eyes"..same as what you're saying here and very good too
