There was a post recently on the advice line concerning suicide. Having been, in the past, so desperate, lonely and in despair and have attempted suicide on more than one occasion myself I posted a reply/replies. I believe that as a Christian, whatever we have on our minds the Holy Spirit speaks to us concerning that subject. Especially if we are seeking wisdom concerning it. I awoke this morning with some powerful thoughts concerning this subject. I would like to share them with you and to get your take on them. Please remember, above all that these are my thoughts, NOT GOD'S, and that if you disagree with any of the conclusions here, that's okay. Seek God yourself, always, for man is imperfect and try though we may to help one another, we don't always get it right. We too are on the journey that you are on and have not reached our destination. Can a Christian commit suicide? Contemplate it, yes and attempt it as well, but can a true child of God be successful in their attempts? Or does God prevent them from succeeding? Is this one of the many blessings we have in Him? That even we cannot take ourselves from His hands? (John 10:28-29) Is this one way that He confirms salvation for His children when they are in pain and lose faith? One way that He shows us that we are truly His and the promise of eternal life is truly ours? Is this one way that He reassures us that things are not as bad as they seem, that we are not as alone as we feel? For He is still will us and still in control. When we feel that we are even failures at being failures, that we cannot even get wrong, right, is He in His Almighty wisdom trying to reveal to us that the problem is that we have right, wrong? That our vision is skewed and we are not seeing the truth? That perhaps someone has misrepresented to us who we are and who He is? I know what these questions have led me to believe. I hope that they will help someone to find the answers that they are seeking either for themselves or to help someone else. God Bless and Keep You All. With love, your sister, Cecilia Ephesians 6:13 . . .and having done all, to stand

"When we feel that we are even failures at being failures, that we cannot even get wrong, right, is He in His Almighty wisdom trying to reveal to us that the problem is that we have right, wrong? That our vision is skewed and we are not seeing the truth? That perhaps someone has misrepresented to us who we are and who He is?" Cecilia, great questions and post. My eyes jumped out at the paragraph above. I think that it is our view of God that is distaughted. I had the wrong view of God and even sometimes now even though God is revealing His real character to me, I still get thoughts of the God with the big stick waiting to strike me down and make me suffer. I am going to a Father Heart school this Sunday coming and it's all about receiving the Fathers love for me. God's character and how He sees me will be taught. It's not a conference speaking to my mind, but to my heart. It will be God's heart revealed to my heart. I think a lot of people don't see God as He really is, they see it skewed and distaughted. God must be desperate for us to actually see Him as He really is, for us to receive His wonderful love. Then when we do, it will be so absolutely awesome and precious to us, we won't be even contemplating suicide. Now I know there can be physical, circumstancial and other reasons people can be depressed, I know, I've been there, but once they have been sorted, seeing God as He 'really is' will just lift the scales from our eyes. Thank you Cecilia for this post. It gets me excited to seek God for His true character. Ruth
