A couple days ago I picked up a stray cat. Literally.
For the last 2 or 3 weeks a little female tiger cat has been hanging around my back porch. She looks a lot like the cat in the pic, except she is grey and white. She was driving my orange tabby tom cat nuts. Each would be on their side of my back door for hours at times flirtingly meowing at each other. But each time I came out, she would run off, as though she was being a tease. ( I have had at least a couple girlfriends like that in my time )
So I started leaving her a handfull of dry cat food by the door figuring all that flirting and teasing must be making her hungry. By about the 4th time, she came up to me, meowing, and she let me pet her. So I picked her up and took her inside to meet her new boyfriend. She doesn't seem to like him too much, but that will change the next time she goes into heat. He shoots blanks, so there will be no kittens. He follows her everywhere. She hisses at him and jumps up to a spot too high for him to get to, because he's a great deal bigger and heavier then her, and she flirts with him from there.
Sort of reminds me of human relationships.
A woman prettys herself up, and flirts with a man to get his attention. Just enough for him to begin to follow, which begins the persuit. Then she hisses at him, and goes to a place just out of his reach. From there, she entices him to make himself a better man of God, one worthy of her. When he finally gets to the place with God he has been called to, she goes into heat, comes to him, and they marry.
Sometimes I think that cats are more human then we are.

Interesting analogy Byron - I like the part where you say "she entices him to make himself a better man of God" - so this is a good thing for sure!! Good to see you again - blessings!!

I think we do it so that we reach a place where we can yoke. Don't forget the part where men take women into places of being better women also.
In the woman's defense, I hear men love the challenge.

BristerBate; My tom cat is neutered, and it must have happened as an adult, (he was 3 years old when I got him) because he will mount a female cat in heat, and he knows how to perform. But no kittens.
caviezelfan; You are totally correct. If you compare domestic cats and dogs, pound for pound, cats are vastly superior animals. They can see far better as dogs, hear and smell almost as well. They are much stronger, faster, smarter, and more acrobatic then dogs. This is also true in the wild. Wolves, and coyotes have nothing on the big cats, even if their sized could be reduced. Although foxes and raccoons come close, but I'm not totally sure they are of the canine genus.
Marilyn; It is more honorable and Christ like to entice men to become better, then to tease and run. Why stop at getting a little attention to brag to friends about now, when you can get all that same attention and more from an improved version of the man of God, later. We are worth waiting for you know.
longing4more; I know you're right. In the godly relationship, everyone wins, and the woman gets a great place of honor. That of being the wife. Not A wife, or like a wife, as if she were only a concubine with his last name, but THE wife. The giver, and nourisher of life. Something which no man can do.
As for 'In the woman's defense,' no defense is needed. God made us to pursue, and he made you to be pursued. Indeed, we will pursue until you catch us.
