Yup; There's a reason you folks ain't been hearing from me too much.
I got evacuated due to the worst ever flood in my city. I'm staying with a family member who doesn't have a computer.
I'm coming to you now from my girlfriends computer.

In our city of 120,000 people, roughly 10% of our population has been evacuated from what is called the 500 year floodplain, which is where I live, or rather did live.

The Cedar River's flood stage is at 12 feet, and this morning the river crested at just over 31 feet, besting our previous biggest flood by 12 feet. Nothing like this has ever been in my city.
Out of 10 bridges that cross the river, only one is not overflowed with flood water.

Isaiah 66:2b; But to this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.

I saw the ariel photos & read about that on the news. It's awful.
I'm sorry to hear that your area was flooded but glad to hear you are safe and that you have somewhere to stay.I do hope you were able to save some things.Life can be challenging at times, keep your eyes on God alone & don't become discouraged. It's good you have family & your girlfriend to help you.I pray that no one got hurt.
The Gazette said,"A confluence of unlikely weather events created a Cedar River flood crest that defies historical records."There's been so much rather strange & unlikely floodings etc.lately, especially in the Midwest.Who would have thought Iowa of all places for this to happen?I'll be keeping you and the people affected by this in my prayers,Hisglory.

Hang in there Brother, we're praying for you. I'm from a town 30 miles north of Dubuque, IA in S.W. Wisconsin and we are having flooding problems here too. I know that it is even worse in Iowa. I was trapped by a flash flood where I work a couple of days ago for a few hours. I finally had to leave the car and hike out up over some high ground to get to the highway, while I was doing this another thunder storm was coming into the area. That high ground was a bad place to be with the lightning, but I had to get out somehow. Anyway, I got a ride back into town. Yes, I have never seen anything like this before in my life either. ~ and it all happened so fast ..

I was wondering how many of the BC folks here were affected by these floods and tornadoes I keep hearing about..all over...from Missouri, Wisconsin, and Iowa. I have cousins in Iowa and two teachers I work with are originally from Missouri and Wisconsin and still have family there.

Stay high and dry...maybe I should have said elevated! oops! Anyway...I'm sorry to hear it is affecting your area, I'll pray for your safety and the safety of your loved ones.

Hi Bro. I did just post on my site as you had asked. But a lil late I see! Hahaha!

You hang in there, I was so glad to hear your voice and know you were not suffering, and that your gf ( I don't know if you call her by name here, so I won't! ) and her family are all high, dry and safe. Like selah says...we can trust in His grace to see us through ANYTHING! I know you will be out there with those helping others out during this crisis...at a food bank or praying with prayer warriors or something. Bless you!

Your Sis...Barb
