MY NEW GIRLFRIEND

No I'm not kidding. No catch. It's for real.

This is my girlfriend Evonne.
She has a profile here on B.C. but hasn't posted in the blogs yet. (mostly because she's been too busy being with me)
Her handle here is Nutsoooo, probably for getting involved with me.

If you've been following my blogs, then you've read about her before as a former girlfriend from long ago, and mother of my god-daughter.
This has been a long time in coming, and one more example of what can happen when we finally listen to God. However, I should have been listening better, for this could have happened long before now.

I led this woman to the Lord myself over 25 years ago, and mentored her as well. She was soooooo hungry for the Word, and then, as now, there are fewer things I enjoy more then teaching people the Word. Which made it easy to fall, deeply in love with her. We found ourselves able to comfortably talk to each other about anything, and everything, but especially the Word. There should be a pic of us in Webster's with the word "soul mates."

I was dating LTT247 at the time I encountered her last summer, at a picnic of LTT247's church of all places. Before that it had been 20 years since I last saw Evonne, which was when she conceived Kristen who is now my god-daughter, and I'll spare the details of our breakup.

At the picnic Evonne gave LTT247 a great reference for me as a relationship partner, so I had a lot of explaining to do with my date.
She strongly encouraged me to meet with Evonne on my own, if only to know who fathered her daughter.
When we did meet, she refused to discuss anything else until I taught her something from the Word.
After which she said that was the one thing about me she had missed more then anything else.
For a moment, I forgot I was dating another woman as the spirit washed over me, confirming that yes indeed it had been way too long.

A few weeks later LTR247 ended our dating, and was the first of many who told me I needed to be back with Evonne. A notion I resisted out of fear of again losing the now renewed friendship with my soul mate.
Being quite sure that we'd ever be only friends, I continued seeking other prospective women to date, and just had the hardest time finding anyone who was interested.
Door after door closed. Even though I was meeting a great abundance of desperately lonely women wailing, and even begging in their prayers to meet a man who was seriously seeking God; they had no interest in me. This continually confounded me to the point that I was sure that either WOG's were in fact lying about what they wanted, or something serious was wrong with me, or perhaps even both.
Now I know that it was God keeping me available for Evonne.

Meanwhile she kept praying that I'd come to myself, and see what God had placed right in front of me.

Tomorrow I'm making an appointment with my eye doctor, because it should not have taken as long as it did to see that God has answered both our prayers by giving us each other.

Isaiah 66:2b; But to this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.

Wow Byron,
I'm learning women have to be either patient with the man they love or just plain knock them off the fence.
God wants us women to be bold in our love for God. We are to be the helper when our man walks God's way, but we are to be his strife when he does not.
So very happy for you both. I know the next few days of the peace that follows obedience will be very relaxing and full of joy.

I thank God for gifts undeserved, blessings He did not have to give. After all, we are here to glorify Him, bend to His will, live in His image. Yet, in His abundant love, the Father that He is, He gives us great gifts like a soulmate who fits perfectly in your heart.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. He changes not!!

Peace,Beth

Beth, I read your post the other day, but didn't comment because I wanted to let you have your day before I made my similar announcement.
Congrats to you as well.

We men can be quite oblivious to the obvious, and while being patient is good, sometimes we need a little help in finding you. Like I told her, and have said to others, if your interested in someone, there's nothing wrong with sending him a Google map, which is to say, give him gentle, but obvious encouraging messages of interest. As long as you are not overly assertive about it, you are not wrong.

Marilyn;
It's wonderful that I actually got her of all women. For years and years, I was sure I'd never see her again. Yet there has never been any other woman that lined up with me in so many ways, and on so many levels as her.

T.Y. for your kind comments.

I just had her on here, and she really enjoyed all the comments, and was really blessed to see all the support. But she isn't into bloging herself. She does like to do this online card game thing, which is in real time, so it seems like that is to her what blogging is to me.

Look for it Angel, but don't stop there. Claim it too.

Great Father in Heaven:
I lift up to you my sister in Christ who is just as lonely as I was.
I stand in the gap for her, and testify that things that are not yet can be seen and prayed for as though they are.
I thank you for leading a man of God to find her very soon. A man who walks the talk, and is filled with your spirit and your love, who will be so wonderful to her, and for her; that she will praise you night and day for your helping him to find her, just as I do now for your divine help to me in finding my girlfriend.

Thank you for the wonderful man of God you will give to her, and when she receives him, she too will affirm and testify that he was worth waiting for. I pray this for my sister in faith in the name of our risen Savior and Lord, Christ Jesus.... Amen.

Rod;
The beautiful red head is not mine to take, therefore neither is she mine to give. That is entirely up to you my friend. But I do have a word to give you, which seemed common to me until I finally took my step.

"Get off of the fence of fear. It may seem uncomfortable, and perhaps even less then appropreate, but you won't know until you ask, and it is eating you up to know.
Step into the unknown, even though you don't see where your foot will land. If it's "yes," then you will step onto solid ground, and if it's "no," the Lord will catch you, but at least you will know.
As for waiting to hear from God on it, you already have, and it's right in front of you, so step out to it."

Angel;

You are very welcome.

I have finally done something I should have done long ago. Which is to place a sticky on my blog entry Finding a date in Church
You may find it helpful, and I also have one for the guys too.
I got three entries stickyed so far, and may do one or two more, but I don't want to clog things up with too many stickys.
