Background 2 RailBaron2 The Fresno Years I moved to Fresno in July of 1980 to be with my first girlfriend & to attend Fresno City College I had a little studio aptment $130.00 a month utilities paid. I got $500.00 a month to go to school where I studied carpentry, blueprint reading, industrial safety, math, a 2 year program that took 3 years because some of the classes I needed fell at the same time.I became engaged.worked on my modle railroad research & did drawings of buildings that were once at Laws, Calif. Then My " Best fiend" stole my fiancee It took me 5 years to recover from that one. I became like a street person- unshaved unshowered I worked doing landscape maint & started getting back to some seblence of normal as i had gone from 175 pounds down to 119, I got back in church & after a while started getting back on my feet. I then started ernestly seeking Gods will in choosing a wife.I was going to a non denominational church, was in volved in a few plays -Was Ebeneezer Scrooge one year in " Gosple according To Scrooge" was in a intercessory prayer group, studied Bible prophecy & sat under the now Late Dr. Walter Martin when he was a guest speeker.it was also during this time that I was going to every " christian" big event- R.W.Schambach,Paul Youngi Cho, ect, ect, ect I was in prayer lines seeking deliverence from smoking, & sin in general & have had hands laid on me more times that can remember. I also gave generously yet at my best I only made $18,000.00 a year. it was during this period that there was one woman in particular in this time of growth in the Lord That I felt was the one-There was a very pretty redhead who wanted to date me & I turned her down Because I was sure I was hearing God & that this other Pretty Brunette was the one that I would marry. Only two small problems-1. she wasn't interested & if God was speeking to me, God didn't tell her.& we never dated, I asked but she declined. after 3 years prusuing This lady in prayer,some events unfolded and as a result 1 day some things happened & I Got Mad at God & told him if this is not the woman, get her out of my head & heart & bring someone else. (Not in those exact words but you get the idea.) I will know for sure only on Judgement day if God had been speeking to me during that time, If anyone doesn't think God is in control read on. Looking back on the events,I belive Jesus looked at the Father & vise versa & said Ok,I'm going to give Him what He wants- BUT HE IS NOT GOING TO WANT WHAT HE GETS. Its TEST TIME.Now at this time I had engaged in some heavy petting with my first girlfriend , but was still a virgin- no sex I was in what I call today my " Self Rightous" phase. I was not going to do any of the following things- 1.I would not date a woman who was not a Christian. 2.I would not date a woman with short hair. 3. I would not date a woman who had . 4. I would not date a woman who was divorced. 5. We would not have sex until we were married. 15 minutes after I spoke those words to Allmighty God as i'm putting the equipment away along comes a cute girl a year younger than me pushing a stroller she stopped & said Hi, we got to talking & I will give you 3 guesses as to what happened in the next short 72 hours. If you guessed that I broke rules 1-5 You got it.we were together for 2 months. & lived with her for about 40 days.I was working doing landscape maintenance at the time.after that, My finances went out from under me with a seres of setbacks & breakdowns of transportation, & a painfull injury to my big toe of my left foot. ( me & a lawn mower got into a argument & i lost- the toenail & required 12 stiches.) I had moved into a rooming house & for the next year lived on peanut butter sandwiches.I moved again in with a friend & when He got married I took over the the appartment. This is when I met girlfriend #3 who talked me into moving in with her.- that lasted a month, I got back into the same apartment complex & 3 months later She's back- I gave her another chance- we moved in together again. it lasted a month, moved into a different appartment complex, Now I'm working as general labor in Construction. I cool it for a couple years- no dating period. I then put a add in a paper & get what i think is the one I've been waiting for- Tall,long hair, strong Christian, has a adopted . We dated for 1 year-Read the bible & prayed together & dated & behaved, Got engaged,On August 7th 1993, We Got married.she talked me into getting a vasectomy before we got married as her adopted had A.D.H.D. & we felt raising Him would be enough. We also felt it would not be wise to have other 16 months after we got married & only comming together 32 times as she did not like sex & still thought it was " dirty" she sugested I get a mistress which I was not about to do. she asked for a seperation on dec.26th & I moved out She would not go to counseling, would not be reconciled so after 18 months I filed for Divorce She didn't say a word,I was now unemployed from working at a used car lot & on July 1st 1996 decided to move back to Bishop after spending 16 years in Freso, Clovis & 16 months in Coarsegold. On July3rd I boarded a greyhound bus with $54.00 in my pocket & all my things in storage. During these years God allways provided a roof over my head & food in my stomach & it was during these years that the Lord spoke those words that you see in the intro to my blog. I am still praying to hear His voice like that on a regular basis.end background 2 |

Sharloa- Your comments are a bout 2 to 3 posts too early Please be patient as I am telling you " where I have been" & yes I'm stating the "facts"only. The feelings have run the gambit from A-Z over the years. Our God is a Awsome God- he can speek the word only & create an entire Universe in just 6 days.He could speak the word only & we would be perfect immediatly- yet He takes his time with perfecting the souls of men. remember that Moshe- (Moses) was 80 years old when God spoke to Him from the Burning Bush. I hope you will understand when I'm done with this series- May God Bless You. Carolinehampton- God has started a work in me & He is faithfull & will complete His work in His way & in His time. He Loves you just as much as He loves me.He is no respector of persons, & He is the same today as He was yesterday. May God Bless You.
