Hi, just felt like giving a comment about the movie Click. Although most people did not think this movie the hottest it should make most people think about what is important in life mainly relationships. I thought the moral of the movie was quite moving . Added to main list 8/5/2006: Miami Vice (R) ### Colin Farrell, Jamie Foxx, Gong Li Action/Adventure {Disjointed directing distract from this overall excellent caper. It was almost the opposite from typical directing which draws people into the film, story, and characters without its presence being known. In some places, it had a TV-episode feel to it; and in some places the picture quality looked very video-like rather than film-like. Once the cuss words, starting with the s- word start, it doesn't let up. I felt like my mind was trashed by the end. Other than that, I liked it. LOL.} Aeonflux (on DVD.) ??? {How is it I saw this movie recently, and don't remember a thing?} All the King's Men (PG-13) ## Sean Penn, Jude Law, Patricia Clarkson Drama 9/22/2006 {This really could have been more interesting. It made its points regarding power corrupting, but in a haphazard way. It was pretty slow at times. While I appreciated the time put in for character development, it was too slow overall. Disjointed directing confused a complex but well-framed story line. Considering the decent acting, I wish this could have been better.} The Covenant (PG-13) ### Steven Strait, Sebastian Stan, Laura Ramsey Horror, Suspense/Thriller 9/8/2006 {This is sort of Buffy or Charmed meets Harry Potter meets the Matrix, in a Constantine-like sort of way.} Firewall (on DVD.) ### {Two of us could not remember whether we saw this or not. So we put it on, and watched it--again. Even after a second watching, I can barely remember--oh yeah, now it's coming back to me. Not bad, but not really memorable. Harrison Ford was serious AND funny as Indiana Jones, he's just serious--too serious--in this flick. A continuation of his overly-serious roles in certain of his other suspense roles.} The Forgotten (PG-13) (on DVD.) ### Drama, Suspense/Thriller {Woman who can't seem to forget her child, goes through therapy, apparently because of her obsessive tendencies; she comes to believe that she has discovered evidence that people's memories have been tampered with.} The Guardian (PG-13) ### Kevin Costner, Ashton Kutcher, Neal McDonough Action/Adventure, Drama 9/29/2006 {Pretty decent, but a tad on the long side. One of the better jobs of acting by Costner that I have seen. Ashton Kutcher played an excellent dramatic role.} The Illusionist (PG-13) ####.5 Edward Norton, Paul Giamatti, Jessica Biel Drama, Romance, Suspense/Thriller 8/18/2006 {Wow. Very cool. Well, I thought so anyway. Though it's cool, it doesn't really bear watching a second time anytime soon since it's like a mystery to which you would already know the solution. But I would definitely like to see it again, after I've forgotten the plot a bit, in a few years!} Take the Lead *** (PG-13) (on DVD.) ### {I liked it.} The Wicker Man (PG-13) #.5 Nicolas Cage, Ellen Burstyn, Kate Beahan Drama, Horror, Suspense/Thriller 9/1/2006 {Pacing was so slow. This is not only not suspenseful and not a thriller, it is slower than most dramas! A re-cut of this, boosting the tempo, could make the pacing fine, and boost it a star. And while most of the time it approached creepy, it was almost campy in a dull sort of way, like you could tell the actors were having a time keeping a straight face. The ending is definitely creepy. While this would maybe not freak out too many adults, I'd say this could seriously disturb children and certain teens.
