WHAT IF Dec 23, 2007 11:13 pm
Mood: thankful, 403 Views

I'm the only person alive on this planet earth.

Doing the best I know how to survive.

Not a soul in sight to show me the way.

No one to talk to. No one to listen.

Struggling so hard just to survive.

The days are long, but the nights are longer.

The emptiness in my heart grows ever wider.

As the enemy of my soul lurks all around me,

There's a meeting taking place in the Heavens above.

God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit,

Convene on my behalf.

Choking back a tear, the Father says,

"Look at my dear little girl.

Those are not the dreams I had for her.

I've got to buy her back...and set her weary soul free.

How do I go to her and make her understand my love?"

God the Son turns to God the Father and says,

"Father, I'll go pay the price to buy her back.

I'll let her see You thru Me.

I'll walk with her and talk with her.

I'll show her the love that is in Your heart.

I'll bring Your little girl home."

Even if I were the only person that ever existed in this world, Jesus Christ would still have voluntarily come down from Heaven to set this one soul free. That is LOVE! And that is CHRISTmas!

EMPTY RELIGIOUS-SOUNDING CLICHES Dec 21, 2007 12:34 am
Mood: contemplative, 535 Views
One of my pet peeves is the way that we as Christians so eloquently quote religious cliche's to people who are struggling and having a difficult time in life. We do this with good intentions of trying to help the other person. We mean no harm at all. How much attention do we pay to what we are saying? Sure, it sounds religious, but how much Scriptural Truth is there to it? Is it a help or a hindrance to the other person? Is it just an empty, religious-sounding cliche'?

My #1 dis-liked saying is:

JUST HOLD ON!

Have you ever been at a point in life where you just couldn't hold on any longer? I have. To hear the words, "Just hold on", made me want to SCREAM! There have been times I said, "Lord, I just can't do it. I can't hold on any longer." Do you know what happened when I couldn't hold on any longer? The Lord let me see that it wasn't my ability to hold on that mattered. It was His ability to hold on to me that counted!

Are there any religious cliche's that you don't like? Please share with us and explain why you don't like it. THANKS AND GOD BLESS YOU!

GET THE EX OUT OF THE BEDROOM! Dec 9, 2007 10:51 pm
Mood: courageous, 624 Views
When your spouse leaves, the emptiest place in your home is your bedroom. You ly down at night on a bed that he used to share with you. As you ly there on your side of the bed, his side of the bed is still there. The pillow he lay his head on is still there. The bedspread that once covered you and him, now only covers you. The bedside table on his side of the bed is still there, with his alarm clock on it. His side of the closet is still there, only empty this time. Everything's the same, minus the person you loved and shared this room with. It was not "my" room. It was "our" room. Even though he's gone, it's still not "my" room. Everything reminds me that it was "our room".

OK. Enough is enough! I will not play the role of the victim. It's time to get the ex out of the bedroom! I will take charge of my own emotional well-being---with the help of the Lord.

As I lived this a little over 2 years ago, I decided it was time to get my ex out of my bedroom--everything that had once been "ours". I decided to totally redecorate! I gave away our bedroom furniture, curtains and all. I bought some more JUST FOR ME. I picked out a theme and decorated according to that theme. My theme was this: I may not be his bride anymore, but I'm still Someone's bride. I'm the bride of Christ! I knew eventually I would face sexual temptation. I chose a white comforter to remind me that I'm pure and to stay pure--to keep my bed undefiled. I chose white bedroom furniture as another reminder to stay pure. Now I needed some color. I chose purple because purple represents His royalty. I draped purple curtains behind my white bed. It's as if I'm spending the night with the King! On a shelf above my bed, I placed a picture of a woman, on the shore of a sea, in the dark of night, in the midst of a hurricane. She's clinging desperately to a cross as the storm rages all around her. That picture reminds me that no matter how strong the storms of life blow against me, there is safety in clinging to the Cross.

My bedroom is now my sanctuary. It's a room of peace and comfort. It's a daily reminder that I am the bride of Christ.

If your ex leaves you, do your emotions a favor and get him/her out of you bedroom!

What Is The Story Behind Your USERNAME? Dec 7, 2007 1:22 am
Mood: adventurous, 1967 Views
Hi! Welcome to my first post in my blog! I haven't visited blog land much. It just seemed overwhelming! There are SO many to choose from! I've been hanging out in the Magazine. With lots of encouragement from (you know who you are!) I've decided to overcome that fear and give it a try! Thanks for dropping by!

Do you ever pay attention to USERNAMES? Wonder what they mean? Try to "figure them out"? Have you wondered how that person chose that name? I have! Some I can figure out--Some I have NO clue about! Some make me laugh--Some make me reflect!

I posted this question in the Magazine. Now, I'm posting it over here! If you have a username (HaHa!), please share with us the story behind that username! Thanks!

My username is 4gvnrn. I wish I had spelled it 4gvnRN. I wanted a username with somewhat of a reflection of who I am, so that every time I looked at it, it would be a visible reminder of who I am. I wanted to keep it kind of short, though, not alot of typing! I am a child of God, saved by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ! That makes me FORGIVEN! I am also an RN. That makes me a FORGIVEN (4gvn) RN. Hence: 4gvnrn.

Now it's your turn! Have fun!
