LOST YOUR WAY? May 12, 2008 1:15 pm
Mood: grateful, 270 Views
This post is dedicated to those who have missed me and encouraged me to post again! You know who you are! Thank you for your encouragement!

Have lost your way? God knows where you are, how you got there, and how to get you out!

Have you ever set out on a journey to go to some place you've never been before...made a wrong turn without knowing it...and later on realized you were headed in the wrong direction? Did you turn around, head back in the other direction, and still couldn't find the right turn? Did you know where you wanted to go, but couldn't find the way to get there?

A few months ago, I set out on a 2,000 mile trip to Canada...alone! I had never been there before. That was OK, though! I had my map and my directions printed out on how to get there!

I drove from Mississippi to just a few miles south of New York without one single problem! As I was following the New York road signs, I realized I wasn't seeing any more road signs for New York. I thought I must have made a wrong turn, so I turned around and headed back in the other direction. Still...no New York road signs! I looked at my map and tried to figure out where I went wrong! I couldn't figure it out!

I pulled into a truck stop to ask for directions. The attendant and some of the truckers were nice and gave me directions, but they only confused me more than I was to start with! I walked out to my car feeling more lost than I did before I went in there!

There I was...all alone...in the dark of night...over 1,000 miles from home...LOST, somewhere in this big world...and feeling very helpless! As I just sat behind the steering wheel that dark night, I bowed my head and prayed, "God...I'm lost." All of a sudden, my cell phone rang! Wow! What timing! Who was calling me at this time of night? Was it God? As soon as I said "Hello", my daughter laughingly asked, "Are you lost in New York yet?" I told her what happened and her husband got on the phone to help me. He's an over-the-road truck driver! He's been to New York before and knows his way around! He got his map and asked me to start naming some road signs around me. I did. He pin-pointed where I was. He stayed on the phone with me and guided me back to where I needed to be! Ahh...what relief I felt!

As I continued on my journey without any more problems, I took the wrong exit at Boston! I wound up in morning rush hour traffic in downtown Boston! What an experience for a Mississippi girl! Four or five lanes of bumper-to-bumper, zooming traffic! It was too unsafe to look at my map! I couldn't pull off and look at my map or ask for directions because I was in an inner lane and couldn't get over due to the traffic. I decided to just keep driving until the traffic thinned out. I prayed, "God...I need help again!" At that very moment, Archangel called me! Wow! What timing! Was it God again? Archangel grew up in Boston and knows his way around there! I told him where I was. He stayed on the phone with me, told me what exits to take, and got me back on the right road again! Ahh...what sweet comfort and assurance I felt!

I made 2 wrong turns on that 2,000 mile trip. Those wrong turns turned out to be right turns, though! God used those wrong turns to re-emphasize truths about Himself! He knows all...sees all...and is always on time to help! He is involved in our lives on a personal level! He proves that He can be trusted!

These lessons can be applied to our daily lives. In this journey of life, we may take wrong turns, lose our way, and find ourselves going in the wrong direction. We may not know where we are, how we got there, or how to get back to where we want to be. God knows where we are...and...how to put us on the right road again! When you lose your way, just call on Him...He will show up to help!

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. Psalm 32:8 KJV.

IS THERE A DEMON AMONG US? Feb 4, 2008 6:35 pm
Mood: amused, 432 Views
Is there a demon among us? It is being reported in some of the posts that 4gvnrn has a "wicked side" an "evil side"! I even saw a post that read, "Lord, please remove the demon from her!" It's all humorous and we are having fun with it! I think it is hilarious, especially compared to what I'm going to share with you now!

I'm here to ag you on some more! I want to share with you how I act in church sometimes! Are you ready? Here we go:

I produce and direct dramas to Christian songs. I must be gifted in this area because I'll be drawn to a particular song and then a drama pertaining to real life just forms in my mind. I don't have to think about it, it's just there!

I rehearse the drama for the drama team. We practice the drama and then perform it for our church. Other churches invite us to perform the dramas. They in turn start using those dramas.

Not only do I produce and direct the drama, I act in it if we don't have enough people! The last drama I did was a few weeks ago. It was to the song "Set Me Free" by Casting Crowns. The song talks about demons controlling one's mind!

Guess what part I played? You guessed it! I played one of the three demons! I wish you could have seen me in my demon outfit!

In the drama, the demons have a man in chains and are fighting with him. Jesus steps on the scene and the demons have to flee. They slither off the altar, down 2 or 3 steps, and half way across the church.

Here's the interesting part! I was the only one who knew how to "slither!" I was asked to give "slithering" lessons to the other 2 demons! Here I am at church, acting as a demon, teaching other demons how to slither off the altar!

It doesn't end there! Another church wanted our youth team to perform that drama for their youth night. I was asked to be the demon instructor!

The Pastor and the whole church say I play the demon part really well and make it look so real! I am now a demon instructor, which means I teach people how to act like a demon! ONLY IN DRAMAS, THOUGH!

You may be wondering how I play the part so well! It's a well-known strategy for military warfare. You have to know your enemy! You have to be able to recognize him. That same strategy applies in spiritual warfare! I've been harassed by the enemy enough in my lifetime that I have learned to recognize him! I know how he acts. Therefore, I am able to teach others how he acts! BUT ONLY IN DRAMAS!

So the question remains: Is there a demon among us?.......She sure acts like one sometimes!

A TEST OF YOUR LOVE FOR GOD Jan 17, 2008 7:49 am
Mood: Worshipful, 428 Views
St. Augustine once preached a sermon in which he proposed a kind of self-test to see if we truly love God:

Suppose God proposed to you a deal and said, "I will give you anything you want. You can possess the whole world. Nothing will be impossible for you....Nothing will be a sin, nothing forbidden. You will never die, never have pain, never have anything you do not want and always have anything you do want---except for just one thing; you will never see my face."

Augustine closed with a question:

Did a chill rise in your hearts, when you heard the words, "you will never see my face? That chill is the most precious thing in you; that is the pure love of God."

What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?...Mark 8:36

My challenge to you is: Please describe how you felt when you read the words "you will never see my face." I know it may "stretch your mind" but that is a good thing! Thank you!
