How do I get to at least 50 comment status?

I have seen some, with their witty posts receiving lots of commentary, I can only think I am as boring as all (brown stuff).
So I need your help, a personality make over, I am game, whats going to make me appear more attractive (apart from posting Pammy Anderson's photo). I see MsObivous with her charm and good looks, IamnotKen(or wat ever his name) with biceps showing in sleeveless shirt brought in the 80's, Linus in kitchen apron and chosenson with the incredible silhouette of himself, but beyond that, their wit has you typing the keys in a scramble to respond. HELP ME!!!

For all you nuts in blog land this is tongue in cheek (well, mayBE!)

Well, you could create 50 fake handles. I suppose that would be the easiest thing to do. Comparing your self to 'brown stuff' is never a good idea. (it puts people off, plus they're always wiping their feet after they leave your blog) I don't think your looks are a problem at all. For one thing, Pam Anderson doesn't look like Pam Anderson. If you took away the silicone and all the plastic surgery, she'd look like Barney Fife. (I don't think it would matter to Tommy Lee though) Maybe one of those T.V. shows could help. Like 'Extreme Blog Makeover'. Or 'What Not To Wear While Blogging'. Or "Flip This Blog'. And if worst comes to worst, PUNKED. (It won't help your blog but it'll be funny to watch)

Ah, ok (taking notes)
1. Do not refer to self as brown s-t-u-f-f....
2. Need's and extreme makeover..

I am taking your comments seriously, to summerize I am not poop, but could do with a make over........Thanks J :-V

Well here are what I came up with. I hope it helps.

10 Commandments For Blogging On Big Church

1. Write from your heart and your soul.

2. Don't write what you think others want to hear. Write what you think God is leading you to share.

3. Blog friendship like any friendship takes time and attention. Just as a regular friendship goes both ways it is the same with blogs too. It is not only important what you write on your blog, but taking the time to reach out and respond to other people's blog too. You need to be a good responder as well as a caring writer. Also it takes time to get to know people and for them to get to know you. There are some wonderful people here so that is a very special blessing.

4. Don't go looking for popularity. Trust me popularity is not always a good thing. Look for fellowship, friendship, and a way to honor God. Personally it means more to me if the one person that responds to one of my posts is helped, comforted, educated, or lead in a faithful direction, than if all of BC read my blog posts yet I see no evidence that my words are touching others.

5. Have fun and don't always take things too seriously. God wants His children to be happy with joy in their hearts. Some of the best posts I have read are ones that made me laugh. It always seems God knows just where to direct me when I am feeling down. These alias identities are a blast as long as everyone knows they are just that and the fun they have is never at another's expense. I don't even try to figure out who is who, I just have fun seeing what silly name or picture they are going to come up with next.

6. Stop comparing yourself to others and what they write. That is why for years I never had the courage to reach out in faith and share my writing. I never thought I was good enough, smart enough, or talented enough. If you are honest and share from your heart and your faith then that is wonderful and not brown stuff.

7. God gives us all special gifts, but he never tells us that if we don't have specific ones then we shouldn't try to reach out and touch others with friendship, faith, and fellowship. Just the opposite is true. You need to see yourself through God's eyes for the special and unique person he created for a reason. The world might see people like Pamela Anderson as "HOT" but I am sure the standards the world is using to judge what is "HOT" is not what God is using. He wants faithful servants that are on FIRE for the Lord. That is HOT to Him.

8. Email some people (men and women) introduce yourself and invite them to come and visit your blog. A little advertising never hurt anyone and it is a way to meet new people too. When I wrote my post about how I was feeling about turning 50 I felt God wanted me to share it with others that were about to turn 50 too. So I emailed some women that were about to turn 50 to come visit my blog. I was told by many it was a wonderful blessing to them but the biggest blessing came to me with all the responses because I had faith in what God was leading me to do.

9. Be of good faith and be yourself. Don't worry about your picture. Beauty is skin deep but the beauty of faith runs deep into our soul and radiates out to shine like no other worldly beauty we know. That is all a fellow Christian can ever ask for you and if they are a good Christian it is all that matters.

10. Be kind and uplifting to others. We are here to learn, share through fellowship, build friendships, plant seeds, teach, give direction, be supportive, offer comfort, give hope, find love, have fun, and most of all live by example the faith we believe, so that we honor God with our lives. We should never be judgmental, hurtful, deceitful, or cold to others. What kind of example are we setting then. What kind of message are we displaying for unbelievers and new believers to see that come to this site.

Well that is it. I hope it is helpful to you. Take Care and God Bless.

Your Friend By Faith,

Glo

soulfun66 - yep, don't refer to self as brown stuff.. not a good idea

as for popularity... it is over rated... just be yourself...write from your heart... let God lead you.... it will be fine.... there are some who are very popular...but some of the blogs, well, leave alot to be desired in the long run... i, personally, do not like arguing over religion, denomination, nothing... don't like going there.. and some get real flirty....i am not comfortable with that either... so i pretty much stick to myself.... i have made very close friends here...who i check in on every day or so...

so...another friend is made...i will check in on you also.... welcome to blogland nance

Hi Soulfun66,

I think many of us don't come to blog land unless the Lord leads us to, or we get a message asking us to. Some that do come to blog land and have their own blogs also go into the interest groups. When your handle shows up in the groups, it also says under your picture "view my blog" this is a way to get to know more wonderful people through this site, and possibly get more replies to your blogs. Even though I've never met you, I can see you have a loving caring heart. Don't get discouraged, have fun with this, and the more blogs you get involved in, the more people you will meet, and the more replies you will get in your blog.

I will keep you in my prayers!!!!!

God Bless You
Sue

Hello Soulfun66! Gloria has some great ideas about blogging. It does take time to get to know people. I read blogs for 3 weeks before I started blogging. I got to know some people through their blogs, and got ideas for my own blog. Your blog is a reflection of who you are--the colors, the ideas, the pictures--all reflect your individual touch.

One thing that I have really enjoyed is taking one person's blog and going back to the beginning page and reading forward. That way you keep the thread of thought going. When you have read all of one person's blog, you have sort of gotten acquainted with them. It is a great way to get to know people. (PS: Don't try this with Dundeal--he has hundreds of pages already; it would take you weeks to read it all if that was all you did!)

Blessings,
Merry

Okay...you have my vote to add to your tally
Yet there is a string attached, lol, read
the following:

Popularity for the most part is enmity with God.

Relationship:
The deeper into Him our Relationship goes, the
fewer friends we will have...go deep enough and
you might experience crucifixion and maybe even
possible death. Go this route and you will be
hated; especially by many of your brothers
and sisters.

Just don't let #'s become you

Now, make a separate "comment" (not a response)
to each person who comments to your post. We'll
keep coming back...you keep commenting in return.
I think it works that way.

You misunderstand response for popularity. If you want response, click and post the funniest or most profound quips you have ever seen, or say something controversial. There isn't necessarily any rhyme or reason to it. Anger folks, or make them laugh, or be entirely incomprehensible. I have seen all of these work. Ust titles like the Enquirer... Voice of God heard in Space! Adam and Eve found - And SHE was a Space Alien! Catchy, huh? See what I mean about the difference between getting attention and popularity? I look at them in the checkout, but 'sneer' at the people who buy them. Then again, let me know if you post a hot pic of Teri Hatcher!!!

well sister i have done quite a few blogs, but don't think i have hit 50 on any of them, hahahahaha, but then again i am not counting the comments that come in, as the brothers and sisters have said the numbers are not the important thing, touching a heart or life is more important then all the numbers that don't mean anything, cheers and God bless you

May the Lord bless you and keep you

I agree with Miracle in being yourself and with Ed in not letting numbers become you. Write from your heart. Some of my posts get lots of response. Some of my posts get none at all.

It really doesn't matter to me because I write to get things out of my system or to Praise God for what He is doing in my life. My blog here is my first blog ever but I have been writing since I was a child. I have notebook and notebook full of my ideas, feelings and thoughts.

At one time I wrote a newspaper column but this is the first time I have ever had written feedback other than a letter to the editor to complain about me. It's a little strange for me but I have met some amazing people through the blogs.... people who will encourage and uplift you. I thank God for them!

It still surprises me that anyone would want to read what I have posted but even if no one did, I still feel blessed to have the opportunity to express myself and my faith without having to buy or store more notebooks!

I really feel thats what the blogs are all about... personal expression. Who cares what someone else thinks as long as you and your relationship with God is good... the rest is icing!

(Icing is wonderful but I have tasted some mighty fine cakes without icing on them!)

Write what you know... write what you love... write what's inside of you and don't worry about the rest. God bless you!!

Very creative Vendor, you think that one up all by yourself?

Anyway, back to the point of this post. If you want people to come in and sit a spell you have to get there attention. I think Walking Man is on to something. It's usually the titles that catch my attention, then I go in for a closer look. After reading everything and everyone, I usually have something to add,(something good I hope). So don't worry about popularity, or numbers, just be the interesting person you are and give people time to get to know you. And most of all, HAVE FUN!!!

I'll be checking back in with you. Remember you are always welcome at my blog and there are great people here at BC that would love to see you visit theirs too. Take care and God Bless.

It helps if you post a lot on other blogs, and especially those who are known for posting a lot on other peoples blogs.
Humor usually works well for getting a lot of responses.

The one thing that always gets a lot of posting is to start an arguement. The more conterversal, and the stronger people feel about it, the more responses you will get. It won't make you popular, but it will get you a lot of posts. It's not hard to pick out such issues either, but I will not elaberate.

Unless you are naturally argumentive, just be yourself.

Well I am thinking maybe it might have something to do with giving people a "Daily Dose" of something. For instance, if you go to Yendor's Blog you get a Daily Dose of humor and if you go go Dundeal's Blog you get a Daily Dose of Wisdom. So if you have people returning over and over to your Blog pretty soon you'd be having alot of people there and consequently lots of entries when they all add up.

Hi. First I want to wish Gods blessing on you. I decided to post here not to give you comments but to tell you the truth. I am a musician and before I came to God I was always trying to bring attention to myself. Now that I have God in my heart, I try to bring glory to Him and Him alone. What I am saying is serve God with all your heart, and bring attention to Him and give Him glory and people will listen. Trust God to bring the people. Too many times we say we trust Jesus as saviour but do not trust Him for other things. So start trusting Him for other things like your blog. I hope that you take to heart what I say here and that is to make God popular and ourselves. Thanks for letting me post. God bless and take care.

If is all about Jesus than we must die to flesh. All praise, focus and honor must go to Him. But how? By seeing with our heart and not our eyes. As I light up you heart for Jesus I have to let it out and tell the world.

For some strange reason, the first week in March, I will have been lost wandering in blogland for 2 years, another 38 and perhaps I will be lead into the promised land?

You may notice I have only a few posts that may have 2 pages of comments or more out of 200 plus pages of posts. Apparently my post are not all that worth commenting to.

You may notice some people put up 10 posts a day or more.

Some bloggers are more social than others?

Some bloggers preach more than others?

Some bloggers are not looking for a mate?

Some bloggers may not be human?

Some bloggers may be fake?

For some reason there is a readership for all of these types of bloggers and more.

Some of these bloggers seem to have no sense of humor.

Some of these bloggers seem to have no sense.

Some of these bloggers are young.

Some of these bloggers are over 80.

Some of these bloggers post once a month at best.

Some of these bloggers have been here once, left and are back again, at least once or more times.

Some of these bloggers have been or are socially uncalled for.

Some of these bloggers seem to be wonderful people.

All of these people are bloggers with a readership of sorts.

Just look at the top 10 - 20 bloggers, what do they have in common?

I have no clue how I got here?

I have no clue as to why I am still here?

I have no clue as to how long I will be here?

40 years?

Let me tell ya, sweetie, that you seem to have made it. But making 50 is not nearly so important here as making family. And that is what you will find the people here at BC to be, family. People who care about you, are concerned about the things that concern you, hurt when you hurt, rejoice when you rejoice, miss you when you get out of pocket and throw a party when you return home. You will find love in all it's wonderful Christian aspects, brothers and sisters who will make you laugh and make you cry and tell you how the cookie crumbles when you need to hear a word from God that you are messing up big time. Because they love you enough to speak God's truth to you no matter what. And when it comes down to it, isn't that truly what we all really need the most? FAMILY

Welcome to Big Church!! By golly, I think you could be well on your way to hitting that 50 mark you so desired. However, if you'd REALLY like to up the numbers, seeing as you have so many comments here... Respond to each of those in by 'quoting' the comment in individual responses.

But above all... Gloria gives great advice. Enjoy blogging & most of all Have FUN with it. There may be a few who do, but most of us don't bite.

Hugs,
Sue

Just share what is on your mind and let it go...Being popular is grossly overated. I think most of us are here for the friendship, the praise and the worship and sharing of God's word. I have noticed the popular ones get ill, have their feelings hurt and end up leaving or causing mischief. WE LOVE YA, LIKE YOU ARE!

Just a thought. Anna Nicole Smith was 'popular.'

That is an excellent example. Look at the life it brought her. Look at the life now it has left to her son. Men fighting over who is the father. Not because of the well being of the child, but because of all the money. It can be a very sad and selfish world we live in.

Only one being I want to be popular with,,, God

All others, if they dont like how God made me,, tough, their loss, not mine.. dont need many friends, just a couple of good ones and a good relationship with Jesus,, thats all that really matters.

Hahaha, I just found this post! For your information, that picture of me is from the summer of 2005 and not the 80's....lol....It was hot and I was working construction and that's how I dress when it's hot.

The only reason I can see for these nuts visiting my blog is they want to see a jackass in action...lol...Sort of like a going to the zoo thing. Throw me peanuts; I do tricks.

Young lady, don't you know worrying about popularity is vanity? A SIN! You better get right with Jesus and not worry about being popular with the boys!

You also need to realize that popular blogs, like yendor's, are only popular because they are a tool of the Devil! The world loves the Devil and hates the Lord! You must have a humble and contrite heart, keeping your eyes focused on the Lord and not the boys! Straighten up, missy!

"All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved". Mark 13:13

You could try being a sanctimonious old bat like this witch. She seems to get a few comments spewing her venom.

soulfun66 - yep, don't refer to self as brown stuff.. not a good idea

as for popularity... it is over rated... just be yourself...write from your heart... let God lead you.... it will be fine.... there are some who are very popular...but some of the blogs, well, leave alot to be desired in the long run... i, personally, do not like arguing over religion, denomination, nothing... don't like going there.. and some get real flirty....i am not comfortable with that either... so i pretty much stick to myself.... i have made very close friends here...who i check in on every day or so...

so...another friend is made...i will check in on you also.... welcome to blogland nance

I quiet agree........it was done very tongue in cheek, boredom can be an ugly thing...LOL

I think if you read back on my blog hot or cold I am pretty much find me as i am kinda girl...
Thanks for your comments

    God Bless You
    Sue
Thank you Sue,

I am rarely discouraged but very often silly! So I hope to be getting to know more of you as time goes by...

Kaz
