Am I becoming old Fashioned?

I ask you, for those pursuing your faith, for deeper relationship, towards a ministry or Faithfulness........

Do you find what once did not make you blink twice has you squirming uncomfortably.

I went out last night to a Hen night (Bride-to-be's night out), upon arriving there whoops and hollers that I had indeed arrived, which was a confident boost to say the least. Then it was announced the "Party animal has arrived!". I am 40 this year I was considered a "Party animal" 1987....the height of my wild days (although never liked drinks or drugs) I was the comic, the brash unashamed to have fun gal, even if that meant dancing on bars and playing Truth or Dare in a bar (thats tame version of events). I was embarrassed and stayed quiet, then during the pre-disco meal the bride to be threw something towards me to catch....it was a rubber male synthesized genital. Everyone waited baited breath for me to have a smart comment, but I didn't, I wrapped it up in a napkin pushed it out of sight and was completely dumb founded. I didn't go to the disco, but I feel I have to apologize now for being a party poop-er.

My Lord is more to me than friends. I do love my friends though, but feel I am leaving some behind, its a little sad.

You are a new person my friend, old things are passed away and now all things have become new. I know the feeling been there done that, so be encourage in the LORD. Share the word of God with your friends, they might accept Christ, you are a testimony that God still saves. You're not old just a new person, a child of the KING.

I have been there. There are friends of mine that I have known for years and years that won't understand that God is not a phase for me to outgrow. I try to help them see that I have changed and grown into a life with HIM but I end up talking to brick walls. It hurts allot. Especially when they choose to act in utter defiance to HIS word then come to you asking for your help but refuse to hear the only message that will help them long term. Just know you are not alone and that with every step you take you set an example and break a path way for them to follow.

It just may be that maybe even one of your friends will respect you for what you did and God could use that witness of faithfulness to bring them to Him..the reward of your partypooper could be someone's eternal life..but more than this God is making you consciously choose between the old ways and the new and you may miss some of the old ways bu hopefully never enough to go back there and miss out on the newness of life with Him..blessings to you and leave the consequences of your actions in the Lord's hand..it is no sin to put a male appendage out of sight..it may have been a sin not to..

YAY!! You are walking in the Light!!!!! Yanno we weren't called to be cuddle bunnies or the life of the party, but the Light of the party, the Salt of the earth.. In the Bible salt is not the table seasoning that we think of now, in it's original context it meant to be somewhat tangy, hinting at perhaps a little bitter.. Kinda like gulping ocean water... I guess. Your actions may make you want to apologize but I am sure somewhere down the road they will give you the oppurtunity to tell one of those people about Jesus..which is why you were really there in the first place, even if you weren't aware of it.. a light on the hill... a taste of salt.. Praise God you totally stood in the Truth!! I'm so happy for you!!!

Just take it as the Lord saying, "Well done daughter". And rejoice that the Lord plainly showed you where you once were and where He has brought you to. & Rejoice----

As far s your friends, if given the opporunity, . . . perhaps it is just an awesome time to give a glorious testimony of what God has done in your life.

The folks that are truly your friends- will be happy for you that your life is turning out so beautifully. & Perhaps His light in you will be a lamp for them to see something they do not yet know.

Thank you all for your comments, but hasten to add this was supposed to be christian women too, there were 15 of us and only 3 not committed to the Lord. It was the Bride-to-be, a widow friend of mine, that had a powerful christian 'glow' at one time, until, I feel she walked where he asked her not to go [living with her intended, before marriage]. As a member of our Church she was asked to rectify this issue immediately and ask for forgiveness, she did not. Planning the wedding of the century whilst living as man and wife. I was not convinced at the time it would knock her off her pedestal with Jesus, but something was quiet different with her and her attitude and use of language, it was very disappointing. I am shown yet again WHY it is so important to live in his will. The devil lives in the smallest of shadows waiting to take a foot hold.
About 7 of us (including myself) conducted ourselves in a christian manner....... the rest, from Heathers 'new' church seemed happy with a lot less decorum
