Does God have 'the one, our soul mate' or are they many that would be suitable???

Do you think that there are many christians (presuming you would only marry another christian) who would be a good match or do you think God has 'the one' for us, our soul mate?

What if you marry and make the wrong choice, would God allow that marriage to break up so you do get His one for you?

I know I will get slammed for this but here I go. I think there are many people out there who could become our soul mates. I feel that the thought of there being only one person in this world who was made just for me is a romantic fairy tail. Sorry folks but it's the truth. God may let you know when you have met the right one, but I feel there are more than one right ones out there. The hard part is finding them, but once you found them the Holy Spirit will tell you, THIS IS THE ONE and then that person will be the only one on earth for you!

ah you answered my next question LOL, which was if you meet one of the many, marry them and then meet another one of the many, wouldnt that put the cat amongst the pidgeons. As you say when you meet then they would be the one and only, so therefore nobody else would matter or come into the equation.

My thinking around this when I started this post was that if my God was a big God then He could enable me to meet His only person for me. God, knowing that we have free choice, would miss His choice, so it would explain it if there were many, then when you met and married one of the many, then they would be the person for you.

mmmm interesting.

I used to think there were many. Then I met Jessica. Argument settled for me. She is the one and only perfect soul mate from God for me. There is no other way to explain it. We are even already thinking the same thing at the same time. Yesterday she looked at the clock and it caused me to do the same thing! Of course, it could just be my mind is too easy to read! LOL!

I agree with Prodical

wow!

My theory is thus (my opinion):

We have free will
it's a HUGE THING
if we truly walk with God
and ask His way in ALL THINGS
then there truly are many paths for us to go on
where we would be blessed by Him
we have choices in life
we are NOT automatons
God gives us choices
so staying in His perfect will
and meeting someone special
we have the choice
being in God's perfect will
to choose this person, or not
and be blessed either way
and if choosing to move on
being blessed by special people
until in your HEART you decide,
"God, is this a great union...or not? Should I take this path, with this man?"

Choices are a blessing AND can be SO HARD sometimes
but God gives us freedom in so many ways
and it's our responsibility to honor God
asking Him always
but when you make the DECISION to fall in love
commit it to God
together
walk together
decide...together
with God

and be blessed..

I agree that there are more than one option. The word "soulmate" just about makes me wanna . God gave us freewill. There are good choices, great choices and best choices. I also believe Satan has no problem allowing us to have good choices, if it keeps us from better choices.

Is there such a thing as a "soul mate"? I've never seen it in the Bible. Not have I experienced it. Am I missing something here?
