Last Read: |
Today is Yom Kippur. One of the most holiest day of the year for Jews. It is a day of fasting and it is also an annual Sabbath day. Leviticus 23: 31-32 "You must not do any work at all! This is a permanent law for you, and it must be observed from generation to generation wherever you live. This will be a Sabbath day of complete rest for you, and on that day you must deny yourselves" A question for those of you who keep the weekly sabbath, as I once did. If you keep the weekly sabbath by commandment, do you also keep the annual sabbath? Note above -- This is a permanent law... The command says its permanent. If the weekly sabbath is permanent shouldn't the annual sabbath days be permanent as well and kept? ... for love covers a multitude of sins. 1 Pet. 4:8 NLT |

We are now IN the Day of Atonement PERMANENTLY. It is now the Time of JUDGEMENT. The Day of Atonement typified the Judgment to come. It was what the Prophet Daniel was referring to, when he looked and saw the Ancient of Days Sit at Judgment to open the Books. Both the prophecy of Daniel 8:14, "Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed," and the first angel's message, "Fear God, and give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgment is come," pointed to Christ's ministration in the most holy place, to the investigative judgment. The 2300 days prophecy began when the commandment of Artaxerxes for the restoration and building of Jerusalem went into effect, in the autumn of 457 B.C. This was the starting point of that period in Daniel 9:25-27. Sixty-nine weeks, the first 483 of the 2300 years, were to reach to the Messiah, the Anointed One; and Christ's baptism and anointing by the Holy Spirit, A.D. 27, exactly fulfilled the prophecy. In the midst (middle) of the seventieth week, the Messiah was to be "cut off" which also happened right on time. Three and a half years after His baptism, Christ was crucified, in the spring of A.D. 31. The seventy weeks, or 490 years, were to pertaining to the Jews. At the expiration of this period the nation sealed its rejection of the Messiah by the stoning of Stephen, and the apostles turned to the Gentiles, A.D. 34. The first 490 years of the 2300 having then ended, 1810 years were left. From A.D. 34, 1810 years take us to 1844. "Then shall the sanctuary be cleansed, said the prophecy." All the preceding specifications of the prophecy had been fulfilled at the time appointed. The Cleansing of the Sanctuary was what the Day of Atonment MEANT. The day of JUDGEMENT. Which we are NOW IN. So it IS PERMANENT, just as the LORDS SUPPER is permanent. These feast days all MEANT SOMETHING. But the feast days are entirely DIFFERENT then the 10 Commandment Law, and the 7th Day Sabbath. You wouldnt change that any more then you would change "Thou shalt not kill" except that Jesus MAGNIFIED it, He didnt diminish it, He said Im telling you dont even hate anyone, or else you have broken the Thou shalt not kill commandment. That in no way means you can now KILL someone as long as you dont hate them. Rom:8: 7: The carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God
