Almost Saved

People who are almost saved are people who add God to their life as an accessory, church, tithing and giving offering is optional. They look for a seeker friendly church that offers several service times to fit their comfort zone. Almost saved people never give to the poor or do they have compassion for those in need. They work their 9 to 5 job, drive nice cars, live in a nice home, have a nice savings account and take a vacation to some far away exotic place once a year. They go to church once a week; they may even tithe and give a small offering, by this they are justified in living this normal life. They have a nice comfortable life. This is known as the normal life. They are neither hot nor cold. They keep their religious beliefs to themselves most of the time because they don’t want to offend anyone. They attend a church that isn’t too radical and of course this church never deals with dark issues in their lives such as sin, pride, robbing God etc.

Almost saved people are people who have on the form of godliness but deny the power to change, II Timothy 3:5. These are the people who have to be entertained to keep going to church. Seeker sensitive churches are like a big padded nest designed to keep people comfortable, there is very little discipleship going on.

Where are the churches that teach about the narrow and wide roads in Matthew 7? Where are the churches that disciple leaders and then release them for ministry? Where are the churches that correct, and admonish? Many have gotten caught up in the world’s system – doing what feels right, instead of teaching the Word of God. The last thing people need to be is comfortable. As a pastor I would not want my people to be comfortable. I am forever correcting them out of their comfort zone. Being discipled is not easy. Being trained always goes against your fleshly desires.

There are churches today who do preach the word of God and this is because they love God and have a compassion for people and a passion to help them reach their destinies. They deal with hard issues, and nail sin for the sake of the people. God chastises those that are His.

The sad thing about being lukewarm is that most don’t even know they are. The deception is so powerful that they think they are okay.

Revelation 3:16
So, because you are lukewarm and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of My mouth!

They will be the ones at the end who stand before God and say they have done great things, but God says depart from me I never knew you.

Matthew 7:22
Many will say to me on that day Lord Lord have we not prophesied in Your name and driven out demons in Your name, and done many mighty works in Your name?
And then I will say to them openly, (publicly), I never knew you, depart form Me, you who act wickedly [disregarding My commands].

The key words here are “Many will say.” They will say they have done these things because they really think they have. I believe they once lived a life according to the word with the power of God active in their life making a difference, but they fell prey to compromise. They turned off of the narrow road to the wide road and deception kept them blind. That is why self-examination is so important on a daily basis.

So many have chosen the life of compromise because it allows them to be them self. This is the problem their flesh is not dead. They have not been crucified with Christ Galatians 2:20. It seems many Christians have chosen the wide road with the Christ title. This is dangerous for them and hurts the kingdom of God.

II Timothy 2:19
But the firm foundation of (laid by) God stand, sure and unshaken, bearing this seal (inscription): The Lord knows those who are His and Let everyone who names [himself by] the name of the Lord give up all iniquity and stand aloof from it.

Casinos seem to be the hot topic among Christians today. Many Christians have chosen Casinos as a choice of entertainment or they just like to go there and eat. The Bible tells us to abstain from all appearance of evil, I Thessalonians 5:22. Verse 23 says that God has sanctified us from all evil.

There was this couple who attended a strong Word of Faith church. There was a woman who attended that had an issue with gambling. They came into the church and the couple received Christ and began to grow. The man along with the pastor was working with her to get her on the right path and she was doing well. She had a slight set back and went into a casino; her husband soon found her and was taking her out. On the way out they saw a couple from that same church. This couple explained that they always go in there to eat because the food is good. After this woman saw this couple in there she felt justified, after all this couple had been going to this church for years and if it is okay for them to be in the casino than it is okay for her. The women never recovered.

Romans 14:13
Then let us no more criticize and blame and pass judgment on one another, but rather decide and endeavor never to put a stumbling block or an obstacle or a hindrance in the way of a brother.

This couple was a stumbling block to this woman with the gambling problem. She was looking for justification, something to tell her that what she was doing was okay and found it in knowing that this couple, which attended her church, frequented the casino.

Is there a difference in a restaurant with a bar than a casino with a restaurant? I encourage you to examine yourself daily make sure you are on the narrow road.

Excellent post, here. Very good exhortation. This is a beautiful example of a stumbling block on the path of the brethren. No appearance of evil. Yes. This is a very good word. This is what we must all avoid, becoming complacent and satisfied. We become Laodicians then and I do not want to be spewed out of the mouth of God. This causes me to want to do a post. God Bless you Sister for this word! In Jesus love, Rhonda

Romans 14 verse 5 One person regards one day holier than other days, and another regards them all alike. 3 Each must be fully convinced in his own mind.
