I didn’t have any idea why I didn’t fathom the concept of a Proverbs 31 woman. I have never had a desire to be one. It seemed to me that she fell short of what we are to be today as Christian women. While she was a women to be honored she wasn’t saved, she wasn’t filled with the Holy Spirit. She was on the other side of Christ. She was before Christ. While men are crying for a Proverbs 31 woman, women are crying for a Boaz. Boaz was also before Christ. We were created in the image of God are we not supposed to aspire to be like Him through Christ. If men and women alike would allow Christ to be formed in them there would be no cry for what once was and never to be again. Boaz is not being formed in our men but Christ is. The Proverbs 31 woman is not being formed in women but Christ is. May I remind you that Boaz and the Proverbs 31 woman are both dead but Christ lives on in us. If single men and women would go after a Christ like mate, someone who has the fruit of the Spirit in operation or at least willing to conform to the fruit of the Spirit which is perfect love we would be a blessed people. If both men and women would renew their mind to what kind of mate God would have for them which is someone born again growing and increasing in there purpose to advance the Kingdom of God there would be no heart cry for a certain type of mate. To use a checklist for looking for or choosing a mate that does not line up with the New Covenant (which is Christ) is carnal and this is why so many Christians choose wrong and end up in divorce. Put your checklist away and look for Christ. |

The proverbs 31 woman was definitely saved, but under the old covenant, which God honors also, or none of the OT figures could be saved. Moses never got to go into the promised land becasue he was the same way. She was before Christ, and therefore could not be saved under the new covenant. That's not her fault. Your point is an interesting one, however, and it's definitely true....in a way. OTOH, most Christians are old covenant folks, who haven't truly 'met' Christ yet. They are not much better off than the Proverbs 31 woman, in essence, but they have certainly been blessed because of her and all the others who led the way. Jesus even said 'blessed are they who have not seen, but have believed'. My own parents were Proverbs 31 Christians, but they were great people...and Christians...who couldn't get past the law in their minds, during their lifetimes, but they had the priviledge of knowing the great gospel of Christ also. But just like the OT greats, they are in heaven now because of God's original faith covenant as well as Christ's great sacrifice, and Christ's assurance about Abraham and all the greats being in heaven also. PTL ! Thanks for the interesting thought....

Good point apostle, but sadly we have to admit that to many men of God are simply intimidated by spirit filled women ?And love to fall back on a shallow interpretation of scripture that they believe makes them superior to woman God Bless Stevie.
