hmm I dont know what to vote on... You need that initial chemistry that makes you wanna progress things further..

I met a guy once of BC who came to see me.. and after the visit, I said to him..well.. just friends then..and we both agreed.. however, I had to laugh when he said that he didnt have the "chemistry" right from the start... like it was a bag that he was suppose to have brought with him... bampot.. hahahahhaha...

sugar and spice and allllllllll things nice......

how is chemistry different from lust.

chemistry is a spiritual thing...at least from the lookers standpoint.

what is thought.

what is intelligence.

what is self-consciousness.

deeeep stuff !

There's gotta be SOME attraction...something...whether it is just in the eye of the beholder or not...but other things need to fall into place too (intellectual, spiritual, relational)...

I voted for Numero 4

My opinion is that chemistrey = compatability.

Isaiah 42:8 " I am the Lord; that is my name! And My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to graven images."

For me it is a combination of things. Intelligence, a capacity for emotion, a sense of humor and good hygiene. Those are what attract me, but if God is not evident, then I move on for the attraction fades.

I didnt know which one to pick either! Its so hard to define "chemistry". For me it isnt necessarily about looks, though I guess there would be some form of physical attraction, be it the eyes or the smile or the shoulders (gulp). Mostly for me its about animation. An animated person grabs my interest, then I might notice something about them that looks appealing, like the way they smile etc. So basically to begin with , they could look like Kevin Costner yet if there is no animation, there is no attraction except that which is fleeting. Or they could look like shrek and wink at me in a certain way....had me at hello!

Your right Loki,I have had strong feelings towards only two people in my life, were I was definitely in ga ga land,I do think you have to have some chemistry, smile, etc, but also other things need to be there to make it last, especially spiritual. I do not think chemistry can come later on in the relationship, its either there at the beginning or not at all,it has been that way for me,and I thought this must be what being in love is all about, that is how I thought when I had these strong feelings in the two relationships. I still have this same feeling for a guy I have known for 15 years, when I see him,it could be a year or two in between,I see stars, and all these strong feelings come back to me,it is electric, its not lust,I have never had a proper relationship with this guy,and never could unless by a miracle. God bless you all.

personally......

over the long term things physical.....changed a lot...

the spiritual part was the glue ........and the emotional growth on the part of both of us was a lot of work.....punctuated by a couple of bouts of family counselling......

just trust Him,Randolph

If I ever get married, I hope to keep the sizzle (the cherry on top) alive by pouring on the oil of love and romance until my time on earth is done

Quote ForEwe:
p.s. and i've heard numerous happyily married couples jokingly say that they weren't at all attracted to their mates initially...but as they chose to give it a chance...that grew.

I've heard that too - it frightens me when I think of all the guys I REALLY DON'T FANCY!!!!

StrGzr - I am sure you must have many admirers!

But Randombird hands him a bottle of wine, just in case!

ForEwe - in the UK we ONLY date exlusively UNLESS some jerk is double dating...which is a no no.

That's one area of US culture I don't get...it's like window shopping.
