Vacatons over, back to the everday grind.... lol

Yep we drove all the way Cocoa Florida to Macomb Michigan straight through.... 20 hours and eleven hundred and some miles of driving....

We put a total of 3200 miles on old 'Betsy' (my 1999 Dodge Ram Van) about 173 gallons of fuel at an average cost of $2.80 a gallon..

We started off going east to Maryland to meet Firecracker, who does live up to name.. lol we stayed with her for two days and had a lot of fun getting to know her.. My boys thought that she was a riot.. it was amazing at how fast we all clicked and enjoyed each other...

..Suzanne has been a good friend of mine here in the BC blogs and I'm glad that we finally got to meet each other in person..

Then we were off to North Carolina, where God God created the 'Red Neck'... North Caroline is a beautiful state, and what better setting could there be for someone with one of the most beautiful hearts I've every known.. Banjoblues (CeeCee) she open her wonderful home to me and my boys, and was a great hostess to us..

..she also took us on a horseback ride, not something my big rump was going to take siting down easy.. lol but I guess it had to.. CeeCee and I cut the trails a little short and let the boys continue riding (I needed to give that poor horse a break.. lol)..

Then off we were to Florida to stay with my sister.. it was nice getting to visit with her and her and her family.. we stayed there seven days...

.. while we were in Florida we went to Disney for the mourning and afternoon, but on our way back to my sisters we stopped and enjoyed dinner with Reallysaved(Jean), Tropicalguy(Dennis) and Brina(Sabrina) and her son.. we enjoyed a wonderful meal and great conversation with each of them..

..they were trying to convince me how wonderful Florida is, and how great it would be to live there.. but I know better.. lol Florida is a nice nice state to visit, but Michigan is the promise land.. lol

One of the things that amazed me the most about meeting all my BC friends is how we all seemed to to just really know each other and how quickly we felt comfortable with our conversations, and spending time with one another..

..some may say its because we have spent the last year an a half getting to know each other.. and I'm sure there is truth to that, but I think the biggest thing is that we all share a common love.. and that is the love we all have for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ..

This was a great and relaxing vacation for me and boys.. it was our first family vacation after the divorce.. it was a much needed time for us to just get away for awhile and just have some good old fun.. and thanks to a wonderful sister who spoiled us to death.. and some great friends that until now have only been a computer screen and some phone conversations have made these last two weeks memorable not only to me me, but also for my boys..

Thank you..

P.S. I did add some photos to my album of our meetings with BC friend if anyone is interested in seeing them..

Life is too short so Lighten Up a bit...

What a blast you all had. Sounded like so much fun, and what an education for your kids to see the country like that. But....its always good to get home though. Glad you are back safe and sound!

Well we missed ya here so welcome back bro I got stuck in Kaleen Texas when my truck broke down back in 1978 and was stranded in that 1 horse town for a week and drove all the way back 1500 miles without stoping other than food and gas and even took a hitch hicker into Hollywood to see his mom and then going back to Orange County where I lived so I got you beat on the driving stuff think it took me 27 hrs. or something like that, I'll never do anything stupid like that again.

Rod, sounds like the PERFECT vacation. You are blessed! I know what you mean by the bond between the BC friends, it is the only reason I stay on this site.

Those are awesome pictures. That younger son of yours seems to be taking on your persona...lol. I love how kids do that. Thank you for sharing your vacation with us. I like how you used your vacation to stop and meet the people on BC. Great thinker, you are. I was also very glad to hear that you LOVE MICHIGAN. It is the place to be. Goo

I was wondering if you made it home okay. Glad to see you did. Dennis and I had lunch yesterday at the same restaurant we all ate at with you, and I thought of you. I said to Dennis, "Yep, Rod was parked right there!", pointing to the spot under the tree. I miss you already! I understand you not wanting to move to Florida, though. You will keep better up there in the cold!

Thanks again for meeting with us for chow, Brother! It was great fun!
