The drama is when unbelievers try to portray a Christian...like in the movies. It's action-drama. We know it's make-believe, but they don't. Somewhere along their way someone said to them "just believe and you will be saved."

But that's their error. A false gospel that captured false believers.

And true believers have to deal with them!

A true disciple of Christ obeys their Master. By what gets posted here, I, and other true believers, can make them out. It's not hard. Not hard at all.

There is something wrong when we don't see the same Jesus.

And drama is the result.

Hey ROD I beleive in getting EVERYTHING out into the open and dealing with it and usually when that happens, DRAMA follows. There are certain people here on BC that get thier JOLLIES by lying and creating DRAMA and they don't expect anyone to RESPOND back to them because the CHRISTIAN thing to do is to KEEP THE PEACE ... Remember, GOD created us all to have different PERSONALITIES/GIFTS and that is what makes the BODY OF CHRIST. Some of you think that just because EVERYBODY doesn't act like you guys, in PASSIVITY, we are the ones that are in ERROR.

Rom. 5:8
while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us

So how can the statement be made the "just believe and you will be saved is in error?
Many places in Scripture God gives command to persons that they are UNABLE to perform on their own. Especially where salvation is concerned. We cannot believe because we are NOT ABLE to believe. We are dead in trespasses and sin. This status is one of INABILITY. God must make us willing and then we believe. God must first turn the heart of stone into a heart of flesh. God gives faith as a GIFT to enable believing. Evey aspect of our coming to God in faith is wholly of God. Man is passive. God is the moving "force" in a persons salvation.

Here's an example:

"Let my people go!"

Clearly this is a command from God Moses must give to Pharaoh, but early on God told Moses that He would make Pharaoh unwilling to let the people go.

And the parables. Jesus purposely makes a gospel call to the people in the parables and also prevents the people from believing in the same parable.

Why does He do this? It seems unjust but it is not. It has to do with our sin nature. He does this to prevent them from receiving something they DO NOT DESERVE! Otherwise, if not for our sin nature Pharaoh would let the people go, and people would understand the parables and repent and obey God with the immediacy of the angels!

Here's another command example:

"Lazarus, come forth!"

Could Lazarus come out of the grave on his own? No. He is UNABLE. A command has been given and because of sin and the judgment of sin, which is death, Lazarus is UNABLE to obey and come from the grave. So, when God commands us to believe and you will be saved, He is not speaking to innocent people. Otherwise they would repent on their own and embrace Christ. The gospel of John is packed not only of people becoming saved, but with every act of blessing by Jesus upon a lost soul there is also the nature of salvation. Like Lazarus UNABLE to come out of the grave on his own.

This is done to show that salvation is wholly of God and Him alone when someone repents and believes Christ. Unless God opens the heart TO believe...they will not believe to the saving of their soul.

Acts 16:14..."And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul."

Ezekiel 36:26-27..."A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them."

Who's doing all the change in a person? God! And you cannot take your stony heart and use that to believe and then God gives you a new heart. No, God does all that is necessary to enable you to believe.

"Just believe and you will be saved" is received in error if one thinks that they can believe to the saving of their soul all on their own.

Philippians 2:13..."For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure."

One cannot believe unless God enables belief in order to believe!

That's what I mean.

Salvation is of the LORD

Here is the question, Does God give everyone the opportunity to believe or just the ones He choose before they were born?

Some people don't know how to feel alive unless there is some sort of drama happening around them.

And like you Rod....I don't have drama in my life.

Drama is the result of a bid for attention to fill the void created by not having God, and not having real human relationships.

Kinda makes you wonder about some.

Men never commit evil so fully and joyfully as when they do it for religious convictions.

yendor2 replies on 9/26/2009 5:01 am:
I agree with you Olga, it does make you wonder about some here!.. Gismo2 did a post about just ignoring all the drama post that "cause" all the negative drama.... we should reclaim this place for the ones that are true in their hearts, and let those that want to "entertain" themselves by all the negative drama then let them do so with each other...

I am not too much on side bar on others post, so I decided to post your question. This way we can continue unimpeded and without interfering in another's post. I hope this is OK with you.

Now, to your question above...

Here is the answer: God only saves those who were chosen from before the foundation of the world.

Ephesians 1:3-14..."Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly [places] in Christ: 4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. 7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; 8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; 9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: 10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; [even] in him: 11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: 12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first [trusted] in Christ. 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory."
