I do consider my purchases and try to get the most bang for my buck. Now that we have purchased a new car, we are paying close attention to the budget. The poor showing of B.C. to keep a quality web-site has helped us decide we will no longer pay for a gold ball for me. Come on, this is ridiculous to have such a glitch for so long that the front page has been stuck for weeks! I will not renew my on-star hands free phone service but instead bought a headset for travel/talk. Paying attention to detail and being a good steward of time, money and resources is a strong priority for us right now. We were even able to get a little break and go to the coast for labor day weekend. What a wonderful getaway. No children this time. We stayed at a lovely place downtown Seattle on the 30th floor and the spectacular view was to die for. We had room service breakfast and spent labor day at the public market getting only tea and having fresh seafood. May God Bless you and keep you in his loving care. . Something couples need to do intentionally for each other, in a regular fashion through out the year, every year. . . Without Absolute Truth, there are only lies disguised as truth, if you know not the Absolute Truth and it is NOT within you, you will embrace a relative truth that fits your eternity, that is presently before you. Continue to be faithful, deliverance is near, obedience must be seen, be an unconditional blessing as He continues to bless you. This time is short, serve Him well, serving all. Without exception. Good for you, Rhonda! Yes I am learning about being a good steward with what God has given me. I used to be a shopaholic and loved buying new clothes etc. Lately though, I find myself gravitating towards a simpler lifestyle. It's been a gradual thing, but it kind of hit me just recently how much I've changed! God works in mysterious ways!!!  Penelope Captive of Hope

Good for you, Rhonda! Yes I am learning about being a good steward with what God has given me. I used to be a shopaholic and loved buying new clothes etc. Lately though, I find myself gravitating towards a simpler lifestyle. It's been a gradual thing, but it kind of hit me just recently how much I've changed! God works in mysterious ways!!! I am learning too. It is so easy to spend. Just quicker to go out and eat at the end of a long day, so fun to buy jewelry and perfume and shoes. I have never gone for the $$$ stuff and try to do a lot of yard sales, which I will continue with. I have a painting I paid five dollars for that is worth 1000 dollars as I received an email from the gallery. So, that is very fun. Pray for Mia everyone, things are not as they seem, she is in danger Yes, I will pray for Mia, but honestly, I won't listen to smack about Ken because he is my friend and I think Mia is quite competent and very capable of caring for herself. In fact, I know she does. Physically and I believe financially and spiritually as well. I just do not believe she is in danger. I will pray though, as you ask. This is not intended to offend, and I hope you are not offended, but this is my honest opinion. I know you do very much care about Mia, and I choose to believe that your intentions are heartfelt. I relate to what you are saying...before I purchased my home and had homeowners dues and other expenses to think about I could be fairly free with money...I am finding though that you don't necessarily have to give up anything...it is more about being industrious enough to plan for spending rather than doing impulse buying; I love to find a great deal...for my travels I do a lot of research and love Skyauction dot com...for other shopping smartbargains dot com, overstock dot com, nextag dot com are great places to find amazing deals. I am also learning to repair things on my own when possible (yeah, me!). It is about stewardship...something I did not concern myself so much about before when there was plenty of surplus...thought as long as I was giving and tithing if there was money I could spend it...well, even if there is a surplus you must be wise in how you spend it. Thanks for sharing. He is no fool if he should choose to lose the things he cannot keep to gain what he can never lose.....Jim Elliott Deena
