Why does God wait so long to answer prayer???

God will always give what is right to his people who cry to him night and day, and he will not be slow to answer them.
LUKE 18 verse 7

Why does it sometimes seem as if God waits until the money is gone? Why does he wait until our sickness has become severely critical? Why does he choose to wait until the other side of the grave to answer the prayers for healing?

We often just don't know. We only know his timing is always right. We need to trust him at all times. Know that he will do what is best....

You may hear nothing, he is speaking. You may see nothing, he is acting. With God there are no coincidences. Every incident is intended to bring us closer to him.

I believed, it's one way of God, bringing His children to maturity............ through testings and trials. And He knows well, when it's time to rescue us.

" We are fearfully and wonderfully made." Psalm 139:14a

Beloved Isaiah,

I know I can't give an answer
that only the LORD can give.

I do know I can tell you, I
have experienced the delayed
answer and even though it was
not in my time, HE did answer.

HE is Faithful. HIS Grace is
sufficient and abounding.

With Great Love,

Hiz4Ever †

Daniel 10:12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.
Daniel 10:13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

His time is not our time and His ways are not our ways and it's not for us to question. I don't understand and I have questioned!

Last year we lost a 7 week old great grandbaby to SIDS, why would He give us such a precious gift and then take him away so soon? I don't know but I do know I trust Him and His judgment.

I think that He does answer immediately, even if we do not see anything change for sometimes years--- or ever. His will, not ours. -But do think when he hears us, the prayer is then answered.

& Usually our timing is not His timing, though we almost always want it to be---ha ha.

As always, great post brother.

Here in America, we don't often have a "need" for God first. Yes, we need to work, go to the doctor, talk to our friends, and be human. We need to seek after God. He desires us and a relationship with us. I know I don't want to be friends with a person who is my friend only when they need me. I want a friend who is my friend all the time. This is only an answer in part, the part I understand, and I know we cannot lean on our own understanding. I know that I need to grow from those hard times, and I pray my growth is toward my Lord and not toward my own selfishness or humanities. The loss of a friend due to cancer, divorce, or the loss of a job or disaster are causes that turn us toward God and for some away from God.

Susan

Quoted from above-
"Why does it sometimes seem as if God waits until the money is gone? Why does he wait until our sickness has become severely critical? Why does he choose to wait until the other side of the grave to answer the prayers for healing?"

Something is amiss when one dies with no answer to prayer... Something is amiss when the answer to prayer is more calamity.
Something is amiss when "tons of faith" produces more desperation.

Quoted from above:
"God will always give what is right to his people who cry to him night and day, and he will not be slow to answer them.
LUKE 18 verse 7"
Something is amiss when this scripture is proven ineffective for any and all reasons.
Perhaps The Father is ignoring prayers or massively delaying for a reason? Could that reason be called sin? Might be worth thinking about if the Luke 18 scripture is truth, since God doesn't answer in a timely fashion even though Luke 18 says so. Death kind of cancels out false faith that God answers a sinners prayers...

I bet you are right.
Even the smileys are after me!!!
(pulls the covers over head and cringes)
Silent prayer... "why me lord?"
Answer= "cuz I know you can handle it. Subdue them and make them into pets!"

God's ways are not my ways and His timing is not mine.

Well said, Susan. The Lord does not magnetically draw us to Him in times of trial and tribulation. We have a choice to reject or accept Him in our time of "need."

Praise God! You found your "baby"....wonderful!
My daddy was fond of saying that we had to pray as if everything depended on God; and then, act as if everything depended on us.
Your suggestion to pray for direction on how to participate is excellent.

It is my choice to inexpicably trust the Lord God Almighty in all things. It may appear to my human perspective to be "amiss." Faith is evident in trusting God to provide the perfect plan in His time and in His way. God NEVER seems to act quickly.

I certainly don't want to try to figure out or judge God's actions or inactivity to prayer. I do believe the entire Bible to be the inspired word of God, the TRUTH!

Maybe He is, but it's not the answer you want. Are you being quiet long enough to hear Him?
