Do you think that God has a perfect will for us as well as a permissive will or just a perfect will or just a permissive will?
Just a perfect will
Just a permissive will
Both

I BELIEVE GOD HAS HIS PERFECT WILL,AND ANY THING SHORT OF THAT,WILL BRING CONSEQUENCES.
THEY MAY BE SMALL CONSEQUENCES OR SEVERE COSEQUENCES.
I THINK IT DEPENDS ON HOW BADLY WE MISS THE MARK,
AN EXAMPLE OF THIS COULD BE THE PRODIGAL SON,HE WAS WAY OFF TRACK,AND HE PAID A HEAVY PRICE FOR HIS SIN.
BUT HIS BROTHER, THE GOOD SON, MAYBE JUST HAD A FEW NEGATIVE ATTITUDES,AND STILL WASNT COMPLETELY HAPPY EITHER.
JUST MY PERSONAL OPINION,I COULD BE WRONG

I believe He has a perfect will but also a permissive Will. For example, if someone marries "the wrong person" (someone who isn't necessarily the best fit), once those 2 are married, that becomes the will of God. Otherwise, to be in the will of God they would need to not be married and divorce isn't the will of God.

Hope that isn't too confusing. I just believe He has our best for us, but gives us choice and when we choose outside the best, than its His permissive will.

I believe it is both. For instance it is clear that God's perfect will for marriage would be that a man and woman grow in Him and follow his statute's completely, are perfectly tuned to His heart and by His guiding meet and marry and go on in Him never to divorce. However you only have to be here a day to know that this is not the case for many whose hearts are after Him. We desire His perfect will, but our humanity sometimes gets in the way. That is when I think His permissive will comes in - He forgives, the person picks themselves up, learns the lessons and starts again.

I see Roman 8: 27-28 as fitting this situation, although I am willing to be corrected if someone believes it is out of context: And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God's own will. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

I think he has a spirit lead life for all of his children. If you had a child that was rebellious you dont hover over them and wait until they make a mistake. God's chastisements may come at some point if we ignore him.

We were saved from consequences by the act of jesus on the cross if we truely believe it.

God is concerned with heart conditions and we arent his little puppets.

Most consequences is not God induced but rather the implications of our own self inflicted mistakes. Translation...be responsible.

If you are intimate with God, you will have a much better idea whats best. But we all have emotional cycles and we all walk in valleys and mountain tops.

If You choose the wrong mate...its still a Union that God can bless. We arent under any curses.

I BELIEVED that GOD has a perfect will for us, as He has a perfect plan for us. BUT GOD IS A GENTLE GOD. He has given us self-will to let us decide for ourselves. Although sometimes, or many times, we used to go beyond of what is suppose to be right. Beyond the PERFECT WILL OF GOD. Our self will must be subjected to God to bring forth perfection........... 1 Corinthians 10:23-24 EVERYTHING IS PERMISSIBLE- BUT NOT EVERYTHING IS BENEFICIAL. " EVERYTHING IS PERMISSIBLE" - BUT NOT EVERYTHING IS CONSTRUCTIVE.

I believe God has a perfect and allows a permissive will for us.

I think we find both the permissive and perfect will of God in Scripture. God wills a thing and at the same time allows us to do contrary to His will in that it is His will we be be free to chose good or bad. Without that freedom we could not be persons, human beings....but robots doing what we are programed to do. It was God's will to creat human beings and beings that would not or would love love Him freely. The expression of love which is not deliberate is not love at all.
We see this perfect will and permissive will of God in King Saul. For a long time the children of Israel were governed by judges and priests. Finally they decided they neeeded a king to rule over them. They did not like the kind of rule God had for them. Read First Samuel chapter eight verses four through nine and you see God went along with what they chose (His permissive will) and yet it was not His perfect will or what He first intended for them.
So it is even today. A woman leaves children and says to them to go ahead and play with the toys while she is gone but don't leave them scattered all over the room. while she is gone they scatter the toys all over the room. Her will was for them to keep the room neat but it was her will also that they be free to do or not do what she asked of them.
God's will is for no one to perish but for all to come to repentance (second Peter three nine) and yet we find that "broad is the way that leads to destruction and MANY there be that go in thereat" (Matthew seven ,verse thirteen)
In infinity past God decided to create beings who would Choose to love Him...but in other for that to happen they would have to have the capacity NOT to love Him.
