Just to update you - so many people have donated toward our "meet each other" fund, that I am flying out to Oklahoma to meet Ed tomorrow! Can you believe it? I still can't. Thank you all who contributed to this adventure! We appreciate each of you very much! You may think this is soon, but it is not to us. Neither of us wants to invest any more time, energy and emotion in the other one if we are not meant for each other. Neither of us is looking for something casual here. We are looking at each other as potential mates, so we want to know quickly whether we should proceed with this relationship. I don't know about the rest of you ladies, but I need to meet a man and look into his eyes. I can tell so much more about a person face to face than through the computer or phone. I will know after this visit what the Lord's will for us is. Also, the question has been raised about it not being proper that I go to him. A couple of people think that he should come to me first. Not in this case. I have a 14 year old daughter at home. No man meets her until I meet him. That is just the way it is. I will not introduce a man into her life until I am absolutely sure he is the one for me. Also, since I would be joining him in Oklahoma rather than him joining me here in Pennsylvania, it is important that I get the whole picture of what I am buying into here, that includes his church and his family! Anyway, please pray God's PERFECT will for our relationship. Neither of us wants less than that. Pray for discernment so that we may know beyond a doubt while I am there whether we are meant for each other or not. Pray for safety as I travel. Pray that I won't throw up from the anxiety. LOL! Thank you all so much for your prayers. You all mean so very much to me! I will keep you updated! |

Well, you have inspired me thats for sure!!! I never thought that long distance would work, but after dating sooo many men here in Orlando, whom I have settled for... (not that they are bad guys, just not Gods best for me)... I can understand traveling. Distance is just unusable space, between you and your new beginning. Its a blessing that you could even uproot and move to OK. I pray Gods will in your life. Im sure you are nervous, not only about meeting a new guy, but the possibilities of starting a new life. It IS possible! I relocated from California, to Florida... and did it all alone! To be with my son! God provided... He is amazing! Your going, but not alone! You not only have your daughter, but many many of us will go with you... in spirit. I can already see your eyes lighting up, when you finally get to see him face to face. I dont covet (ok maybe a little) but, I envy your excitement and anticipation! Go, and have a blast! God is with you! Dont forget about us  we're waiting for an update!You go girl ~ In Him!!  Cyndi

I'm happy that you and Ed have a chance to see about the possibility of a relationship. I pray discernment for both of you and for God's perfect will in this regard. While I believe that men, in general, are the ones who should go to the woman, there are certain circumstances that warrant otherwise. Your case is totally valid and I don't blame you for protecting your daughter. I, too, raised a daughter and also protected her in this manner. There is nothing wrong with that. God bless!

reallysaved: Your excitement is uplifting. I believe it helps to give hope to others who may desire it. It's obvious many thoughts and prayers will remain at your side throughout your adventure. People mean well when they offer their suggestions. You people on BC are same as family and care about about one another. I envy that. You may wish to consider maintaining a daily journal through this exploration. Such a thing could be of much benefit to others. Journals are much work yet, important for one's evolution. The thing in this post that drew my eye is your decision to meet with another prior to involving your child. That's the honorable thing to do. I like that. In that regard I believe if things work out for you and Ed, you will continue setting such boundaries into the future. God be with you and your child as you turn this new page. Truly all God's best for the both of you Jean and as you meet up with Ed and gaze into his eyes...may you know for sure!! Cranky... I will be nervous/wringing my hands kind of...tooo in anticipation...but you can trust in God who loves you and who knows the desires of your heart and who wants to give His best for the both you always...be blessed as He watches over you and brings the both of you together!! Haha hurry back and update us...waiting in anticipation too over here!! Man can make many plans...BUT it is the Lord who will direct his paths....

You two are so cute! I cant wait to hear how it went! Either way, you have made an amazing friend, and encouraged many of us. I am so excited, this has really given me new hope! Fresh renewed hope that I needed. I know God is in control, but sometimes it gets frustrating waiting for HIS timing. But he is never late! We can see that here cant we? BLESSINGS YOU TWO!
