I said #2, but I think that a husband shouldn't rule over the house like a big old king of the castle. Marriage should be a partnership with the husband making decisions. He will have to be accountable for his family. I don't think it matters if the man is a Christian or not, the wife should be submissive and in following God's law, and in turn maybe leading him to God.

How about none of the above. The closest I would agree with is #2, but I don't 100%.

when u say "submission" a lot of ears turn up and lips turn down. I dont like the word myself lol. I said # 3 simply because if the husband has submitted himself to the Lord, then he also knows that he is to love his wife as Christ loves the Church, and would never harm a hair on her head. He would also know that the woman was created from the rib, to protect the heart of the man, to walk along side of him, not in front or behind him.

Word by word, I am in absolute agreement with luv2sing4god. Growing up around two generations of domineering woman I picked up those domineering characteristics. Funny (NOT) how I would always attract those type of men, the submissive ones giving me TOTAL control of both OUR lives. I picked up the bible at the age of 39 and when I started to read what God was saying on HEADSHIP I was angry and confused! I had only known one way, and it was COMPLETELY wrong and out of GODS ORDER. I knew that I needed to change and that only God could change me so through prayer and obedience I can say honestly say that I have been COMPLETELY DELIVERED from those spirits. Nice onereallysaved, lol I have been getting slammed lately on a couple of my blogs/polls and well.....SO WHAT LOL LOL I AM HAVING A BLAST! I got into the chat room the other day and asked the chatters what they thought about "SUBMISSION" and when I backed that up with the WORD OF GOD I got called everything from an imp to the bride of satan but once again oh well... I AM HAVING A BLAST!!! ASTA LA VISTA reallysaved, until the next blog/poll... Myrrh777/Priscilla

Jean," submission" me what is that. I am kidding "submission" the closest answer to the defintion is #3 which the Bible tells the wife to be submissive it does not say if your husband is being lead by God. But it plaining says submit to your husband. I also on the same level think God gave us common sense to know ... that we are not to let our mates have us and our children homeless or in suffering without because we are considering ourselves to be submissive. Men have been known to take this word out of context.. to domination... Do not get me wrong I am willing to submit because this is what God has said the wife is to do.... but it is a word that is being taken out of context by some men, therfore women eyes raise when it is mentioned. Be blessed Gwen

Submission to God means a lot as you submit to your husband. Actually it is better that we are not unequally yoked, however as for myself I married at a very young age to my husband and was no a christian at the time. But when I did turn my life over to the Lord I understood. But I still love my husband and still submit unto things that are right, those I feel are not right I seek the Father in prayer. And not raise up a argument of disagreement. Saved husband or not, wife's should have input in matters and have an opinion. Wifes should not be as slaves but as sanctified unto the Lord and still strive to walk in obedience unto the Father as a whole, in doing this will bring a balance to our homes. We are not mats to be walked on or mistreated by the husbands. After all We are still the daughters of God as well. I know every marriage is different some households have different rules than others. But in all things wisdom in all situations can allow God to move. Just because the husband is the head does not mean that he makes wise decisions. Those should be brought to the Father in prayer.

I wanted to vote for 2 and 3 but couldn't. Head of the house? A man should be the head of the house like Christ is the head of His bride. A man should lay his life down for his family with total disregard for his own desires. Too many people think this means the man can be a dictator and force his selfish will. Now go bake me a turkey pot-pie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel that the Lord would have me tell you that He knows your pain. He knows your disappointment. I believe He wants you to know that He is bringing you a wife who will be supportive of you. There will not be strife in your marriage next time. He is bringing a woman to you who will love you the way you deserve to be loved. Wait for her. Wait and do not choose her yourself. Allow the Lord to do the choosing. Amen! Be blessed, Brother!

I did an inductive study called Marriage Without Regrets. The course dealt with this very issue in length. I would like to share a little of what I learned. When a women submits, she needs to know that it is not to ensure her happiness, it is to obey her Lord. The reason for submission to her husband is obedience to God. Submission is to be a continual, habitual way of life. It is an attitude of the heart. It is a matter of the will exercised as unto the Lord. Husbands it is not your job to make her submit, it is your responsiblity to create within her a loving trust that leads to submission.

Trinity...well said and yet the wife has every right to be thouroughly heard and there is a great skill in presenting things properly. A man should never make a final decision until there is unity unless one absolutely has to be made. At that point in humility and not lordship. We are life partners

See my blog on "submit" to see what I think of submission. That's definately a hard word for me and I cringe every time I time I hear or read the word. To me it still means letting someone else rule you. At least that's what it's meant whenever I "submitted" to what other people wanted me to do. What I wanted never seemed to matter in the least.
