Let's Let God Be God!

 It would be really frustrating to watch a blind person refuse to be helped to do something he couldn't do on his own, wouldn't it? How crazy would that be if a sighted person was right there beside him, offering his help, but the blind man stubbornly just kept refusing his help, saying, "I can do it myself! I can do it myself!" How sad would that be?

Isn't that the same thing that we do, though? Why is it that we refuse to let the Lord do things for us that we can't do ourselves? Why do we keep trying to do things on our own, even though we mess up terribly?

I can't make myself not sin, I can't forgive the unforgivable, I can't love the unlovely. He can do all those things through me, though, and so much more if I let Him.

So, my prayer for myself and everyone who reads this is that we will let God be God in our lives, that we will stop trying to do the things we can't do and will let Him do them for us. I pray this in the name that is above every name, not only in this age, but also in the one to come, Christ Jesus! Amen!

 So true hon. How often have I beat my head up against the proverbial brick wall all for the sake of the fact that I feel the need to be in control? Worse yet said God I can't do this on my own please help me. Then just as he is clearing out my muddled mess I step up and say...good job, but I can take it from here. You know what? Those are the times I make and even bigger mess than before. I am thankful daily for the loving & forgiving God I serve that smiles down on me and like the father of a toddler, picks me up, puts me back on my feet and holds my hand as he guides me along the right path.
