In the Eye of the Storm

Isa 25:4 "For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones [is] as a storm [against] the wall."

God does not promise us that storms won't come. He does promise to be a refuge for us from the storm, though. What does that mean? He is a shelter! So no matter how much the winds and rains and hail stones beat down, they cannot touch us if we stay close to Him. When I think of Him being our refuge from the storm, I picture being in the eye of a hurricane. Think about it! High winds, rain, hail, lightning, thunder, destruction, death and flooding are all around the eye of a hurricane, but within the eye are none of those. It is calm and peaceful in the eye!

My prayer for each of you who reads this is that you will stay close to the Lord, cling to Him, so that you may be in the eye of the storm, safe from the storm that surges around you, in His refuge!

He is the Rock of my Salvation. When I am hiding in the Rock- the arrows that the devil throws at me pass right by. I see the storms out in the world, but they are not part of MY world. I rest in the Rock. Amen!
