I believe that these same fruits of the Spirit are for today, of course we are all of one body with different gifts. God gives us this power through the Holy Spirit we just have to believe and stand on what we know..Be Blessed Gwen

As a Christian we need the Holy Spirit's leading and fellowship Romans 8v 13-16. The Holy Spirit will release his gifts as he wills in during our walk with God 1cor12v11. G.B.Y

Yes, I do!!! I was raised and told that they are not for today, but when the Lord did a new thing in my life and the Holy SPirit came in to my life in a great way, well, I learned that they ARE for today. Yes they are!!!

Is the bible the same yesterday as it is today? In Heb. 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. So why would the word of God and all that is in it change?

The gifts of the Holy Spirit are still for today, but only if we identify and use them according to the Bible rather than personal preferences or church teachings.

I too was raised by my parents in a church that didnt belive that the gifts were given after the day of Pentacost. Now having grown up, gotten out on my own I too have been blessed with the understanding and knowledge that yes, the gifts are meant for today, each one of us has different giftings, but they are all to b used to magnify and glorify our Precious Lord and Saviour! Healing is for everyone. By His stripes we ARE healed!! Yes, Jesus died for all- but who will accept that gift? Do they really believe that those stripes were for them? You can't go around just healing everybody! Jesus didn't. It was the decision of those people. Did He not ask "Will thou be healed?" He was asking if they would receive it and faith that it could be done. It has to do with the person and if they have done their part and if they are willing AND obedient.

I personally has a person in my family who has gifts of healing, He prayed for his father in law and god healed his deadly bacterial attack. His father in law had almost gone into coma when this person was in Singapore and he came back rushing to his death bed, once he landed he prayed and asked God to heal him. I had lost all hope since docs told this person is almost dead and wanted us to make all arrangements for his funeral. This person prayed and said God is healing him and even today his father in law is alive, nearly two years. This person is a powerful man of god in singapore and has become a great servant of God. Firecracker, Can you be a little more clear on this.Are saying that everyone has the gift of healing? When one reads the context of the whole verse in Peter I do not understand why you think He is talking about a physical healing.Would you like talk about this? Again I would like to ask you if you are implyng that everyone Jesus healed had faith that they would be healed? Viv, I have no doubt that God does heal but I am talking about someone having the gift of healing.Does this family member heal others or was this the only case of this happening? If so I would like to get in touch with this member.There are many people that will tell you they were healed and they will also tell you they have no faith in God.The hospitals are full of accounts like this.How do you explain this?

Healing... a touchy subject. Someone told me that had my late husband had more faith he would have been healed. He had been prayed for by many for several years but was never healed. I remember reading in the scripture that the Spirit gives us our measure of faith so then if it took faith to be healed he would have been given enough faith to be healed. God chose not to heal him for whatever reason God had. Does that mean he does not use people to heal people? He does. The gifts are given by the spirit for the purposes of God not man.

I myself was raised in another setting as a child and was not taught of the Gifts of the Spirit but it was not until the age of 23 that God really begin to teach me about His Gifts. As a apostolic/prophetic women I do believe strongly that the gifts are for today. We are going to really need the gifts even the more for Now to evangelize to God's people because the strongholds of some are even greater in these last days. It is going to take all the gifts working together with of course God giving the increase to bring many souls into the Kingdom. In this the Power and Breakers anointing works at a great compacity in the person you are evangelizing to. I have seen God move.

Yes ............ the gifts are for the church today ( with the exception of apostle, and are distributed by God as He sees fit. They are not given to us because of our own wishes or desires. Neither are they given based on our level of faith ( or belief ); for one of the gifts named is a measure of faith. All of us are not given the gift of tongues either. Today what some teach about tongues is a put down of Christians who haven't spoken in tongues; but tongues are not the most important of the gifts. The whole body is not a tongue. No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. 1 Cor. 2: 7

Including tongues as well in the last chapter in the book of mark. the word says that "ALL WHO BELIEVE SHALL CAST OUT DEVILS SPEAK IN NEW TONGUES AND THEY SHALL LAY HANDS ON THE SICK AND THEY SHALL RECOVER. Does this mean that those who does not speak in tongues are less. No absolutely not there is not greater than any other. But tongues is there for those who desire it. the Holy Spirit is the most important. We must be led by the Spirit of God. We should not speak against about what some teach, this is speaking against our borthers and sisters. If we feel that they may be in error than you lift them up in prayer and ask God to show them truth. It is not our decision to decide what we feel the word means. i love you all with the love of the Lord. spiritrealm

I believe in the gifts of the Spirit for the Church's well-being. I believe that the gifts are distributed on an "as-needed-basis". I believe that you have to be receptive to God's Spitit...it's not a grocery store item. He chooses your gift. I also have been healed. Not through my faith, but through friends.

Its the Spirit....no so much the gifts that is important in the whole conversation....the gifts are HIS loaned to us for His purpose, in His time of giving....I could no more heal anyone than fill up my gas tank with water and expect my truck to run, but He can keep me in gas forever without ever going to the pump should he choose to do so. I have seen ministers preach for forty five minutes on the evils of the gifts of the Spirit and then turn right around and utter a prophetic word at the end...Sort of God poking them in the eye for putting Him in a box I think...if the prophecy wasnt so rich and meaningful it would have been funny. Its not US, OURS, or THEM....its the Spirit who gives severally to those whom He will....some are easier recepticles for certain gifts than others, but it is still His choosing, not ours.

Brother in Christ I don't go back and forth in the word, it is not my place who contradict who, but if it is in the word then I believe the report of the word. It is not just about tongues, the most important is charity (love). God bless my brother in Christ.
