This post is in response to Neet2005's Post, Are You Qualified? #14389. I have quoted her post first, in case it gets deleted somehow, and then I have posted my response to it. "Let's take a look at some of the folks that God chose to lead and carry out His work and examine thier qualifications: "Moses was a murderer. Exodus 2 : 12 "Rahab was a prostitute. Hebrews 11 : 31 "David was a murderer and an adulterer. 2 Samuel 11 : 4 "Isaiah was a smut mouth. Isaiah 6 : 5 "Paul was a murderer. John was in prison. "Jesus was poor, homeless and on death row. "These are just a few examples of people God chose to lead His missions. God usually picks the least likely ones. People who appear to be lost because of the hardships they faced. But, they were consistently faithful and followed God's Will, although to the human eye it may not have appeard so. "The world has condemned what they "do." They were the ones that were tried by fire and found faithful. They feared God, sought God, then fell in love with God. Like, "David, the son of Jesse, a man after my own heart." God spoke of him in Acts 13 : 2 "So if you think you've done too much to be used by God, you are wrong. The Bible is full of examples of how God chose the least likely ones and raised them to success against incredible odds. This is to demonstrate His desire to use those who are faithful irregardless of how the world my judge them. He's the Ultimate Good Samaritan!" Yes, God does choose and use imperfect people to lead and carry out His work. If He didn't, nothing would ever get done for His kingdom. However, He does not, however, choose or use false teachers to lead and carry out His work. False teachers, those who teach such things as Universalism, Third Testaments, and those who embrace the teachings of Carl Jung, are false teachers. They will not be used by God but Satan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I agree that God does use the things people consider foolish to confound those who think they are wise(I Corinthians 12:1-31). But the Bible also says God will use things that are evil or intended for evil for his purposes. The scripture tells us that God harden Pharaoh's heart because he was going to use him as his instrument to show his glory to the world and his people(Exodus7:1-5). In Numbers Chapter 22, 23, 24 you find the story of Balaam and how he was sent for by the king to curse Israel. God used Balaams bought and paid for lying mouth to blessed Israel. Balaam told the king I can only speak what God has put in my mouth to say. In the story of King Saul you find that at one time King Saul has the spirit of the Lord upon him but King Saul was disobedient and the spirit of the Lord departed from Saul and a evil spirit from the Lord tormented him(1Samuel16:14-16) Because of this David was brought into King Sauls employment. The very evil spirit that tormented King Saul begin to wreak havoc in David's life. God used Saul's situation to train up David. Many times when King Saul was chasing after David David had many oppurtunities to kill King Saul in his sleep but he would not because David told King Saul he could not kill the Lord's anointed(1Samuel24:1-22). Jesus disciples came to him an told him others were preaching in his name that were not with them from the beginning and didn't really walk with the Lord. But those very people Jesus praise them and told the disciples to quit complaining about what others were doing. You don't really hear about the background of those people were they saved? Did they really believe or were they using the gospel to make a buck? Paul said the same thing years later that even if evil men with the wrong motivation were preaching the gospel aleast the gospel was being preached and no knows how God would use it. God is incontrol of everything the good and the evil and he will use each for his purposes. Blessings sis
