Making a simple box is pretty simple you can test here if you want to learn how to do this, then try it on your own blog. I am not trained in this so it cannot be that hard. Let's start with a basic color box. The first thing you do is pick your colors. Colors can be express as words such as blue, goldenrod, purple, black or as a combination of numbers and letters. You can get the number and letter codes by going to a website called visibone. There is a color wheel with these codes there which is free to use. You can copy and paste this code below to see how it works. Then I will show you how to make adjustments to the box size later this week or you can experiment with changing the width to 80 verses 425 and see how it changes the shape of your color background. After you have a basic knowledge of what each of the codes functions are then you can experiment and come up with some neat creations. There are lots of designs within this post that you are welcome to take. Just click on the quote button. Hi, nice post. Also when it comes to background or text colors instead of using the hex code for the color you can use the name of color bgcolor=red or bgcolor=purple. For a large variety of colors to chose from you can click on BC's help link at the top of the page. Then enter 'blog' in the search box and that will show more info about blog enhancements, plus include a color chart that you can use to cut and paste color names. Hey sheri...this is a cool, colourful and fun post...missed this post actually till I got onto it via meow/pete's post and link... You are doing a great job with all the creativity and fun... Rebekka is making a good attempt too... and meow's pink and angels are cool.... Do you remember supabubba's post and color schemes from way before too...he did something like that ...and I tried experimenting as well...it was fun ^_^ my eyes are going wonky with all the instructions...and one would need concentration...which I am not excelling in for the moment... lol how come it is so easy re: meow's comment... My son would be killing himself laughing right now. You would never guess by the number of tries it is taking me to get this that he is a computer engineer. I cannot get the colored box -- I just get the centered word. Question: Is there a space between the words "bg" and "height", "=" and "100", "100" and "width", etc.

Now look at it in a line instead of horizontal perhaps this would be easier. Delete only the space after or before the bracket or type it exactly like you see it below. Then hit send. Hi, this is an example of not using a lot of center tags. Only one center tag is used as the first statement and one center tag in the box. I did not use width or height so that I didn't have to center the nested boxes. Sometimes you can use width=100%. Also I used cellpadding=9 in order to give the text inside the box some room to.

Generally true gold and silver fall into what they call metalic colors and they are difficult to produce but these shades should be close. Good luck. Thanks for coming by Supabubba, we could surely use your help around here with color boxes and thanks for putting up the link to your other blog contributions. I am presently gathering blogs for the a.l.p.h.a.b.e.t...s.o.u.p I listed two of yours yesterday on this site because they are exception works of art. I will be adding a few every day as I have time. I understand that you need prayer for your eye problem. I will pray for you that your eye would be restored to perfect health. I hope everyone will go over and take a look at what Paul has done here. He is a very talented man. When I first started BC I did not take advantage of all of Paul's tips and coloring that he has provided for everyone except for the Birthday calendar which has been a great resource for finding birthday dates. I have used this calendar quite a bit to assist in wishing some of the blogers a happy birthday here on BC. I should just ask. I was just looking for the last 2 hours at a tutorial for colspan and rowspan. I don't want to be spoiled by your kindness in helping us with these codes. The self-study helped in understanding more about the different codes and their functions. I was working with a box on my web page the other day fussing with the horizontal columns and then gave up. Hi Sheri, here's the code with modifications. Changing the cellspacing will make the cell's border wider or thinner. I added [ br ] to add room at the top and bottom. You can remove the [ br ] line breaks if you want. Also I used [ font size=3 color=2f4f4f ] text [ /font ] as a more efficient use of type size and color instead of [ size 3 ][ color 2f4f4f ] text [ /color ][ /size ]. Happy coding!

Once you find one or two that you like it is easy to continue to use the same or similar style boxes by copying and pasting the codes from this page. There are two, one with a maroon background for the text, and another with a black background for the text. I've included the code for the box design. Oh my, your first box and reaction put me into stiches of laughter. I needed that laughter this morning. It wasn't your box it was your comment... I remember my first box. I am not going to delete your box because it shows that we are never truly our best until we practice. This applies to life too. I just love your boxes that you did. Keep experimenting. There are many codes provided within this blog, but if you see a design you like, just let me know. You are well on your way to enjoying boxing and it is great therapy too. I may have to try a few new ones myself. My favorite one that I created was the white one with the little angels in the corners. In answer to your question, yes the box would keep growing to encompass all of your words. Now where is that poem you were wanting to do? Hi Sheri , Thanks for helping my sister JoAnne we call her Joie for short ... I was so excited about my blog that she came into see it ... soon she will come in as herself ... She got nervous the day she was trying to do code ... I wanted her to see my first box and she was cutting and pasting , think that's what you call it ... I just copied it each time I used it ... When you are ready to do a table at the top of your blog. Look at the top right of your screen. See the edit button? This is where you will enter your boxes to make a table. Practice your table here first if you like. It helps others to learn how to do it cause I have to explain what went wrong which isn't easy sometimes, but it challenges me and I need that right now. Tir, I am not sure why the page goes out of the boundary at times. Guess it shows that even when doing art color boxes that we have to stay within certain boundardies, like with life. As I stated the only thing that made sense was to remove the word center in the code. I am sorry I had to remove some of the creations that went off the page but this is how we learn. Do not hesitate to play with the codes. Add to the basic code and see what you come up with. It is the same as when someone wants to paint a picture.
