WILL ANIMALS GO TO HEAVEN AND HELL

Life is sacred to God. Any man or animal that takes man's life, without authority, shall have his or its life taken as well. God does, however, again remind us that we humans have been granted the authority over the animals. This authority does not give us the right to abuse or in any way mistreat them. In fact, we are really commanded to protect them from evil.

Do you think that animals who prey and kill their own kind have their own unique order of obedience to God and can be held accountable by God?
Yes
No
Please explain.

I voted no. Some folks suffer from anthropomorphism and apply human characteristics to animals who were not created in the image of God. They certainly won't be judged for their deeds.

What's that? "anthropomorphism".

But seriously the Bible does say that even the animals are accountable to God, gosh, it's been years since I read that scripture, I will have to go look it up for ya.

Ecclesiastes 3:19-21 (New King James Version)
New King James Version (NKJV)
Copyright © 1982 by Thomas Nelson, Inc.

19 For what happens to the sons of men also happens to animals; one thing befalls them: as one dies, so dies the other. Surely, they all have one breath; man has no advantage over animals, for all is vanity. 20 All go to one place: all are from the dust, and all return to dust. 21 Who knows the spirit of the sons of men, which goes upward, and the spirit of the animal, which goes down to the earth?[a]

Footnotes:
Ecclesiastes 3:21 Septuagint, Syriac, Targum, and Vulgate read Who knows whether the spirit . . . goes upward, and whether . . . goes downward to the earth?

Pete, you are so funny!
I don't know about accountable but I pray that when I get to heaven, I will be met by all of my furry friends I have had and loved in the past. I also have a little Yorkie who will be 13 in December and I pray God has a place for him when He calls him home and that He stands near the gate waiting for me to come home.

Here, I found it, Genesis 9:5 says He will require a reckoning from every animal.

So, do animals have spirits? Here is a Bible verse and God’s perspective:

Ask the animals, and they will teach you...In God’s hand is the life of every creature, and the breath of all mankind. Job 12 and 10

mmmmmm Not real conclusive yet....Can we find more scriptures, anyone?

If we correctly understand the beginnin of creation, everything was good until darn that woe-man lol. But in any event creation fell because of Adam's sin. But originally animals of every kind did not kill to eat and someday as book of Revelation says the Lion will lay down with the lamb, the wolf and so on....and if you ever been to the movies, All Dogs go to heaven.

The prophet Isaiah reached out in the Spirit of God and saw the perfection of God reestablished in the Peaceable Kingdom, and he wrote Isaiah 11:6-9 NASV

I believe this may be referencing the millinium period not Heaven. Is there also a reference in Revelation, could you find it and share with us?

And the wolf will dwell with the lamb,
And the leopard will lie down with the kid,
And the calf and the young lion and the fatling together;
And a little boy will lead them.
Also the cow and the bear will graze;
Their young will lie down together;
And the lion will eat straw like the ox.
And the nursing child will play by the hole of the cobra,
And the weaned child will put his hand on the viper's den.
They will not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain,
For the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord
As the waters cover the sea.

Hmmm interesting topic..... I believe animals were made for our purpose...by purpose i mean food.... assistance....etc. I guess then that if they 'fulfil their purpose' they may be rewarded in the same way humans will? (e.g. our purpose to find jesus and devote our lives to him) But i agree that all is different since the cross...so discussion continues i guess?

The important distinction to me is that of moral agency. Just as there are degrees of reward in heaven for us, I believe there will be a place for animal life.

When I was younger I did not think this and thought the suggestion bordered on insanity. I no longer think this at all. I love animals and if I love them then surely God does. Nothing that God made is disposable and everything he made is precious.

One fault we evangelicals have against us is that we think humanity is all that matters to God. WRONG! We are responsible for all life and the entire planet. It's about time we started acting on that. Thinking that God will not hold us responsible is so very wrong!

Thanks for the uestion - a timely one.

PS - if this planet and all life did not matter to God, why does scripture say there will be a new heaven and a new earth????

Life is too short not to be nice.

This discussion is not about applying Jesus death to animals but merely if they too have a place in Gods' plan. I for one believe they do. All life is precious to God.

Life is too short not to be nice.

Can you imagine a Heaven without them?! I can't.

Anyone else out there wondering this?
If anthropomorphism is applying human characteristics to animals like with cartoons, do you think cartoons go to heaven?
