Constitutional amendment is not the way to go about it.
A constitution is a framework; a supervisory reference that defines the roles of the branches of government and outlies how the details of running a society are to be carried out.

Gay "marriage" is one of those details. Laws banning or recognizing it do not belong in a constitution. If such laws are desired, they should be made part of individual states' laws by ballot initiative.

Prohibition was another example of one of these details. Whether banning liquor is a good idea or not doesn't matter. That amendment should never have been in the US Constitution; it should have been left to individual state legislatures to decide. Folks finally got rid of it, not because it was a blight on the Constitution, but because of the unintended consequences they were paying, in terms of massive increases of the power of organized crime.

The abortion issue is an even worse example of contorting the system. The Supreme Court has grossly overstepped their granted power of judicial review, and has for years set a precedent of striking down nearly every restriction on abortion passed by any state as "unconstitutional." Nonsense. Abortion is addressed nowhere in the Constitution. The states ought to be able to do as they will; and some are getting the guts to start taking their sovereignty back. Should be interesting to see how this unfolds.

PS - even if a state passes a law recognizing gay "marriage," that doesn't change any underlying realities. Declaring that blue is orange, or that cats are dogs, for instance, just doesn't make these things so.

God made Adam and Eve. Not Adam and Steve or Madam and Eve. I'm sticking to that. We will all have to answer for our actions someday and I lift up all those that Satan is blinding with his lies.

Sincerely,

John

Our country is already being destroyed with same sex marriage. What has happened to morals and traditions? God made it simple that homosexuality is a sin. It will never change b/c God's laws never change. He created Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve. Now generations are surrounded by people saying it is okay for gays to marry and as we all know it has become legal in many states. There are so many things you can go into about this issue. Every child should have a mother and a father figure and/or both. THey shouldn't grow up to say it is okay if someone or themselves has a mother/mother figure or a father/father figure. So to basically answer your question though, I would vote either way--forbide it once and for all or no way hoesa.

Always pertinent, thought-provoking, Godlycook, you've done it again.
My vote mirrors reallysaved's; for me there is little to question here.
Blessings,
Carol

People can call a "pencil" an "automobile", but that doesn't make it one. Marriage has a distinct definition and our government should not attempt to alter that basic definition as God has established it since the Garden of Eden.

This is wrong and not what God designed when he put two people together. Marriage is of a woman and man this is how God designed it and there is no way around this. If a woman and woman or man and man are married by whomever, it is not a marriage.... in who eyes.. not God's it is a sin......

    Quoting  :

Blue Eyes, you do know how to charm the ladies, don't you? You've had dozens of women falling all over you on this site, I am sure, with statements like that!

I have met just as many men in life as women, no actually more, who didn't have a clue what they were talking about spiritually. So, perhaps they have no business preaching either, according to your logic.

Get a clue, Brother!

Just my observation, but it seems to me that you are going to great lengths to make sure no woman is ever attracted to you. My guess is that it comes from you not liking yourself much. I pray that God will help you see yourself as He sees you. I pray that He will give you God Esteem, that you may accept yourself as He does. Then you will be able to allow others to get close, because you will feel deserving of their attention.

Be blessed, Brother!

Steve, I know this comment is off the subject, but I just couldn't let this one go. Sorry if I was bad!
