Facts Seventh-day Adventists Won't Tell You Seventh-day Adventists won't tell you they are behind the "Revelation Seminars" they sponsor. They act all" interdenominational" if questioned. Watch out for these SDA outreaches as well: Voice of Prophecy, Faith for Today, It is Written, The Quiet Hour, Amazing Facts etc. They also hide behind Heath oriented shows on the networks, and sponsor stop-smoking clinics etc, all as introductions to Seventh-day Adventism. Often, the only tip-off that what you are reading originates with them is that it is published by "Pacific Press". They produce bright and colorful Children's books, often seen in medical and dental offices, and of course, unsuspecting Church libraries. They very much want to be perceived as Evangelical Christians, seeking a place on the ministerial fellowships. All this is good PR for them, but what do they really believe? What facts won't they tell you? They won't tell you that they consider themselves to be the only, true, remnant Church. Their prophetess, Ellen G. White, whom they revere and believe without question has told them that "...Satan has taken full possession of the Churches". (Spiritual Gifts V.l,p.189-90) They also believe our prayers are an "abomination" to God. (Spiritual Gifts, V1 p.190). That is what they think of you and your church, even if they won't say it out loud in public, or to your face. They revere their founding prophetess, Ellen G. White, and made this statement in their "Ministry" Magazine of Oct. 1981 and have never retracted it: "We believe the revelation and inspiration of both the Bible and Ellen White's writings to be of equal quality. The superintendence of the Holy Spirit was just as careful and thorough in one case as in the other". They won't tell you too much about Ellen G. White at their public seminars, but their goal is to bring the person attending to the point of conversion and baptism. Their 2000 baptismal certificate poses questions to which the candidate must answer "yes". Question 8 says, "Do you accept the biblical teaching of spiritual gifts and believe that the gift of prophecy is one of the identifying marks of the remnant church". If the candidate says "yes" and is baptised, they soon learn that the "gift of prophecy" is Ellen G. White's writings. Point 13 has them accepting that the SDA Church is the remnant church of Bible Prophecy. They have been baptized into an exclusive group, but they don't know how exclusive it is, yet! No doubt they will be urged to avail themselves of a "Clear Word Bible". This publication of theirs has inserted the words and doctrines of Ellen G. White right into the Bible text, insuring that the person studying it will have the mind of Ellen G. White. Slowly, but surely, the new SDA will come to believe these extra-biblical doctrines that set the SDA church apart from Evangelical Christianity. Doctrine on Christ Seventh-day Adventists, in the early days, denied the Trinity, but now they accept it. However, they have "leftovers" from this heresy. Ellen G. White wrote in Patriarchs and Prophets, page 761, "...He (Jesus) was revealed to them as the Angel of Jehovah, the Captain of the Lord's Host, Michael the Archangel". Adventists, you can't have it both ways! Either Jesus Christ is God, or He is some kind of an Angel. You can't talk out of both sides of your mouth to try to cover up embarrassing statements by Ellen G. White. They won't tell you she was wrong - when its "her or the Bible", she always wins! Doctrines on Salvation If you receive Christ as your Saviour through the SDA's, only your past sins, up to that moment are forgiven. Now you must get to work to earn your salvation. Ellen G. White said in the Advent Review and Sabbath Herald of 10-26-1897 this statement, "...The terms of salvation for every son and daughter of Adam are here outlined. It is plainly stated that the condition of gaining eternal life is obedience to the commandments of God". Of course, it is the fourth commandment that is stressed, since Ellen saw this one glowing in one of her visions. Salvation now becomes dependent on which day of the week one observes. Modern Adventists keep sundown Friday to sundown Saturday as the Sabbath, but earlier in their history they kept 6 p.m. Friday to 6 p.m. Saturday. The rest of us "Sunday keepers" are doomed to receive the "mark of the beast" and lose our eternal life. (The Spirit of Prophecy V. 4, p. 505). They sure don't say this at their seminars! Christ exclaimed "It is finished" when He died for our sins, but it is not finished in Seventh-day Adventism! EGW wrote in "The Faith I Live By" p. 211, "At the time appointed for the judgement - the close of the 2300 days, in 1844&endash;began the work of investigation and blotting out of sins...both the living and the dead are to be judged "out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works". (Rev. 20:12". People are never told at Seminars that if they become SDA's and are baptized, a recording angel is watching their every move to determine their salvation eventually. EGW issues this warning in The Faith I Live By, page 210, "Every man's work passes in review before God...Opposite each name in the books of heaven is entered, with terrible exactness, every wrong word, every selfish act, every unfulfilled duty, and every secret sin, with every artful dissembling. Heaven-sent warnings or reproofs neglected, wasted moments, unimproved opportunities, the influence exerted for good or for evil, with its far-reaching results, all are chronicled by the recording angel." It's not much fun being an Adventist and being watched constantly by that recording angel with his "terrible exactness". Prepare to become very uptight. Christians will say, "sure we slip sometimes into unintentional sin, but we have a mediator in Christ Jesus". No, you don't in Seventh-day Adventism. Be prepared for this SDA doctrine by Ellen G. White: "...Those who are living on the earth when the intercession of Christ shall cease in the sanctuary above are to stand in the sight of a holy God without a mediator. Their robes must be spotless, their characters must be purified from sin by the blood of sprinkling. Through the grace of God and their own diligent effort they must be conquerors in the battle with evil....". (The Great Controversy p. 425). Obviously they have chosen EGW's doctrine over that stated in the Bible in Hebrews 7:25, "Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them". Where would we all be without Christ as our mediator, EVER making intercession for us? Christ bore our own sins in his body on the tree according to the Bible. 1 Peter 2:24 says, "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree...". Become a SDA, and it will be Satan who will eventually bear your sins! Ellen G. White wrote, "...so Christ will place all these sins upon Satan, the originator and instigator of sin...so Satan, bearing the guilt of all the sins which he has caused God's people to commit, will be for a thousand years confined to the earth, which will then be desolate...".(The Great Controversy p. 485). You won't hear this one at the Seminars! They keep their radical teachings for later. False Prophecies You Won't be Told About Seventh-day Adventism grew despite endorsing a false date for Christ's return. What a dubious beginning! Ellen G. White endorsed a false prophecy by William Miller that Christ would return, first in 1843 and then 1844. Miller repented when Christ didn't show up on his date but Ellen didn't want to be viewed as a false prophetess for endorsing him through her visions. The idea was concocted by one of her followers that the date was right, but the event was wrong. Ellen eagerly accepted this "out", and this explanation was offered to explain away the false prophecy: Christ didn't come visibly to earth, but He, invisibly, in heaven, changed compartments from the Holy to the Most Holy in 1844 and began the work of "investigative judgment" that we have discussed previously. This false date and its failure triggered other heresies on the atonement of Christ which continues to this day. Honest-hearted SDA's who have pointed out the error of the 1844 investigative judgment have been shown the door by their Conference. You sure won't be told the true history behind the 1844 doctrine by SDA's! Embarrassing false prophecies by EGW have been, altered, covered up, and locked up by the SDA's. You won't be told about them, but here are a couple. One false prophecy done in the name of the Lord marks that one as a false prophet (See Deut. chapter 1  .Ellen G. White said people alive in 1856 would be translated at the 2nd coming of Jesus. (Testimonies, V1, p 131,132). She said in Testimonies for the Church, Volume 1, p. 259, that the United States would be "...humbled into the dust" by England during the Civil War. No wonder Jesus told us to "Beware of the false prophets". Time is their enemy. These false prophecies will never be mentioned by the SDA's. Cult Links You won't be told at the SDA Seminars about the things they have in common with the Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons. SDA's share their early history with the Jehovah's Witnesses. An early Adventist, N. H. Barbour co-published with Charles Taze Russell. They had a falling out over (what else?) dates for the end of the world! (1844 and 1874), and parted company. Both, however, kept heretical doctrines to this day like Jesus being Michael the Archangel, the denial of Hell, and both still advocate soul sleep. Both invented invisible occurrences in heaven for their failed dates for Christ's visible return, investigative judgment for the SDA's and Christ's invisible "presence" for Jehovah's Witnesses. There is Mormon link also for the SDA's. It is a proven fact that Ellen G. White plagiarized most of her writings. The Church has been challenged by Walter Rea, author of the White Lie to prove that even 20% of her writings are original. They can't. Their weak defense was that there were no copyright laws in Ellen's day, so what she did was legal. You will never be told of her plagiarism by the SDA's. As Ellen was rising to prominence, Joseph Smith had just died. Her writings contain many phrases used by Joseph Smith. Mind you, he has also been accused of plagiarism. I have a thick file of similarities, but time does not permit details at this time, but it does illustrate just how far her "borrowing" went. You will definitely not be told of her similarities to Joseph Smith at the Seminars! Consulting the Dead You really won't be told about Ellen G. White's engaging in necromancy, communication with the dead, expressly forbidden by God in Deuteronomy 18:10-12 "There shall not be found among you anyone...who casts a spell, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For whoever does these things is detestable to the Lord..." This particular necromancy occurred after the death of her husband James, whom she called "Father". She recounts the experience in a letter to her son published in "The Retirement Years" p. 161 - 163. She begins her letter by stating that she was seeking God regarding her future, "A few days since I was pleading with the Lord for light in regard to my duty"... It is evident she believed this dream was in response to her prayers to God. James (whom she called "Father") appeared beside her as she was in a carriage. She reported he looked "very pale, but calm and composed". (After all, he was dead!) She says, "...I saw you die; I saw you buried. Has the Lord pitied me and let you come back...?" We are not to have conversations with the dead, but Ellen and James converse back and forth about church matters and their health. At one point James foretells the future for Ellen, "...Now, Ellen, calls will be made as they have been, desiring you to attend important meetings...". James, her dead husband, goes on to tell her she must avoid taxing her strength by going to meetings and retire and write instead. He tells her "...Make this your first business". Ellen now makes an agreement with her dead husband to stay in touch, "Well, said I, James you are always to stay with me now and we will work together". This would involve further communication with the dead. Ellen recounts that she then awoke and took the whole matter as being from the Lord in these words, "...I feel no duty to go to Battle Creek...I have no duty to stand in General Conference. THE LORD FORBIDS ME. That is enough." Well, that is enough to conclude, not only the letter, but the fact that Ellen consulted the dead and took it all as coming from the Lord. She indicated she wanted to continue this practice. Can we trust this dream? No, of course not. How then are we to trust her other 200 or so "inspired by God" dreams and visions that occurred over her lifetime? We can't, if we judge matters by the word of God. You won't be told EGW practised necromancy at the Seminars! Assorted Silliness Often, cult research is tedious and boring. I am grateful to EGW for being humorous, ridiculous, and just plain silly. Her writings bearing her name are 17 times as long as the Bible&endash;plagiarized or not. Many of them have to do with her doctrines on health and food. As an SDA you will be encouraged to become a vegetarian. Ellen indicated that your salvation could be dependent on giving up meat . No meat-eaters will be "translated" at Christ's coming (Counsels on Diet and Foods p. 380). You won't be told this scripture by SDA's "...he who is weak in faith eats vegetables only..." (Romans 14:2). (Fun to read to vegetarians). She taught in Counsels on Diet ..on p. 390 (some editions) that "...if we subsist largely upon the flesh of dead animals, we shall partake of their nature". Partake of their nature? This is against God's creation laws of "kind", and Impossible. Also conveniently forgotten is Paul view, "Eat anything that is sold in the meat market, without asking questions for conscience' sake." ( 1 Cor. 10:25). Obviously no vegetarians evident in the early church! Most of EGW's concerns over diet were in an effort to control what she considered to be an excessive sex drive in the male. She devoted endless pages to discussing "secret vice" (masturbation) and blamed the practice for a wide range of diseases. Here, in "Solemn Appeal" page 12 are a few of the diseases said to be caused by "secret vice" "...dyspepsia, spinal complaint, headache, epilepsy, impaired eyesight, palpitation of the heart, pain in the side, bleeding at the lungs, spasms of the heart and lungs, diabetes, incontinence of urine, fluor albus or whites, inflammation of the urinary organs... rheumatism, affected perspiration, consumption, asthma, catarrah, polypus of the heart, affection of the bones, fevers, ..etc. etc. The cure for secret vice was even funnier. The perpetrator was to sit in a sitz bath at as low a temperature as possible. At the same time, he was to have a hot foot bath, while applying cold cloths to his forehead. He was also to wear an abdominal bandage or wet girdle at night "to good advantage". She concludes, "Cool bathing of the parts affected is also beneficial". To those SDA's who write me that I must be endorsing masturbation by making this public, let me assure you that this is not the case. Why don't they charge their leader with the same accusation? She wrote about it much more than I ever have! I am merely exposing her silliness in health matters. You'll never hear these ridiculous topics from the Adventists! Thanks to Ellen White's influence, the Kellogg brothers were inspired to develop cold corn flakes, as hot porridge could "heat the blood" with undesirable results! She sternly warned against using feather beds for the same reasons, but I found a letter from her asking someone to send her her featherbed! (EGW Vol 3, p. 341). She also developed a "reform dress" on instructions from God, which was a bulky affair with pants under a long dress. She gave up on wearing hers finally, and so did the other women, after years of suffering discomfort. Other assorted nonsense included Angels needing golden cards as gate passes to get in and out of heaven. (Early Writings p. 37-39), She also "travelled" to other planets in her visions, and also claimed to have met Enoch (more necromancy). (EGW: The Early Years Vol.1 p. 114; p.157). She taught that certain races of men are the result of amalgamation between man and beast. (SG Vol 3, p. 64,75). Which races? You won't be told this one at the Seminars, or even later! Her silliness extended to wigs as well. Any woman daring to wear one would "...lose their reason and go hopelessly insane". (Christian Mothers, # 2, p. 121). Well, that's about enough of the silliness. We could go on, but won't. In conclusion, it is amazing to me that the SDA Church reveres Ellen G. White, choosing her visions, dreams, doctrines and teachings above the Bible. Other women had better run for cover, however, as they wouldn't dream of ordaining a woman in their denomination which is totally male dominated. Adventists love to quote Walter Martin who was "had" by them as a young man and believed their statements without checking matters out closely, to prove they are not a cult. However, before he died, he made this statement on the John Ankerberg Show: "I fear that if they continue to progress at this rate, then the classification of a cult can't possibly miss being reapplied to Seventh-day Adventism, because once you have an interpreter of Scripture, a final court of appeal that tells you what Scripture means, as soon as you judge Scripture by that, as soon as you have someone who has made doctrinal errors in the past, even on the deity of Christ and the doctrine of the atonement and other things, and that person is raised to that position or authority, you have polarization around that person". By their own actions and stubborn clinging to Ellen G. White, her extra-biblical teachings, visions, and doctrines, the Seventh-day Adventists have placed themselves in the category of a cult. They certainly won't tell you this fact! They are a cult! IN CONCLUSION SDA's often make every effort to appear "evangelical", joining in with inter-ministry groups and trying to "blend in" with the Christian community. However, make no mistake about it, they believe they are exclusively correct because they recognize and follow Ellen G. White. Among themselves, they mock the Christian's beliefs, calling our concept of salvation, "cheap grace". They privately consider themselves to be spiritually superior to the rest of us. Mt:5:11: Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. You know last night, I was watching a video that said "If alot of people want to kill you, know know you're on the right track" I used to get all upset when people like Dennis or godlycook did this sort of thing, but more and more I realize its really a badge of honor when people have to resort to lying and things like that... And this isnt being done by you, godlycook "for Danny"... If you had wanted to say something to Danny you'd or just sent him an email. This is being done by you, godlycook to try to discredit my Church in front of everyone. You have been trying to lie about my church for a long time now and it is simply because you cannot back up your doctrines using Scripture. and its too bad you cant just tell THE TRUTH about the things we believe instead of resorting to this kind of a thing. One day, you will have to answer to God for all of it. If people want to know what Seventh Day Adventists REALLY believe, they can simply go to our own websites and watch our OWN videos. People have for ages tried to discredit my church because on the one side, we've got the Catholics against us and on the other side we've got the Protestants against us. Just as the Saducees and Pharisees who were enemies joined together when it came to trying to discredit Jesus Christ. If anyone wants to know THE TRUTH about what Seventh Day Adventist really teach and believe they can go google in these words walter veith total onslaught videos and when they get to the first site that comes up, click the Media tab and on the fold out menu click TOTAL ONSLAUGHT VIDEOS and simply watch a presentation of what we believe. Oh Noooooooooo LOL! I just was reading over what you said, I cant believe you are resorting to this "Jesus is an Angel" thing LOL! I just cannot believe the lies and distortions some of you will sink to. You ought to be ashamed. Truly you should. I have posted time and time again, articles by Michael Scheiffler on here about Michael the Archangel and also by Doug Batchelor our most famous Evangelist, and what we teach about it, it has absolutely NOTHING to do with any idea whatsoever that Jesus was a literal Angel or a created Being or that He isnt God. You and Dennis are absolutely Satanic the way that you do this lying. Its just horrible. Jesus is my Saviour, I shall not be moved.

godlycook I dont know why Im even bothering to do this (again) but you go and READ THIS... and if you can sit there and say that the Seventh Day Adventist Church teaches that Jesus is a literla "Angel" or a "created being" or "not God" then to be just frank with you, you would have to be a complete idiot. I am so tired of the lies on this board. I would think "Christians" would have just a little more integrity than you and Dennis seem to have, or should I say LACK. It is downright wicked to lie. This may take a bit to show up as a link. I like what godlycook posted.  Proves that christ doesn't matter at all- and that God is right to skin the planet and get RID of all sinners- saving not even ONE this time through. "Even so Lord Jesus- come." It ain't worth saving by any stretch of the imagination. Just start over with the perfection created way back when. Come- let "that day" begin. They are EXACTLY like they were in Noah's day. "Let the fun begin." Thy will be done. No matter what.Perfection... Possible? Yup... IF ya wanna TRY.

SDA Doctrine is a false doctrine and EG white is a false prophet. Why you wont see that Claudia is beyond me. Not only do SAD mix law with Grace but they distort scripture, Hide the historical facts of their beginnings, and are elitists. They think only Sabbath keeps are saved...so not in the bible!! Isaiah 42:8 " I am the Lord; that is my name! And My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to graven images."

I have been a christian for almost 13 yrs now. But I was a J.W. for 5 yrs and I learned about the close association that they had in their beginning years with Ellen White. That is true and there is proof of it if anyone would like to look it up. I finaly had Jesus pretty much just jerk me awake and lead me back to Him. I had been saved when I was 9, but due to abuse, and a mother in occult I had forgotten it. Leaving the J.W.'s was the most fearfull time of my life. A cult is a hard thing to leave. It is fear based and you're scared to death that you will not be resurrected (as in the case of a J.W.) I also know about Mormons. I worked for a couple that are Morman. I know that Joseph Smith was a Mason, an occultist, and a few other things (There is proof online). And that Mormonism is based very much on Free Mason beliefs and rituals. As is their temple. It's just like a Masonic building. The top levels of masonic knowledge is all occult, but the lower level members don't know this. It is a society within a society. It's not a secret anymore. I found Ex Masons for Jesus quite informative. I tried to tell that to the husband of the couple I know. I said "Joseph Smith" was a mason. He asked me what was wrong with that!? I said, "It's paganism". No reply... I am glad godlycook posted this. Maybe someone will see it and let the Holy Spirit pull them just an inch or so further out of their brainwashed state. I remember being like that. I prayed a weak little prayer...Father if this is wrong please get me out of it...Then I finaly was able to pray again after I left the J.W.'s. That took a yr just to be able to pray again. I was in a 12 step program for about a yr to get help, and address my life, the abuse etc., when I went home one day and finaly falling to my knees and said, "I accept you Jesus as my Lord, Saviour, and God, and if I am not resurrected, so be it. I did it because I love you." That's what I did but i didn't really know why. I know now it was me remembering who my Lord is from a child. He never let me go. How good is our Lord!? Within 2 weeks my whole life changed and I was on my way to growth in Jesus! Praise the Lord! I wanted to say all this, to thank godlycook for posting this, and to let someone who may need to know, that they can come out of a cult, and Jesus is right there. Why bother trying to do what God say if you leave out the very commandment that identifies Him as the true and living God? the Sabbath Commandment. The truth is I have made a Covenant with God... He covenanted to write His laws, (Not the Pope's laws)upon my heart. But you've got things so twisted that you think I am in a Cult. At this point I would be amiss not to explain something here... When Revelation says that there are three unclean spirits ... : The Dragon The Beast The False Prophet This is what it means... The Dragon represents Satan but also in a second sense it represents Pagan Rome because Satan used Pagan Rome to persecute Jesus and others. It is the Babylon Mystery Religion, its foundation being Spiritualism... the belief that when one dies, he does really die. the same lie the serpent told to Eve in the Garden "Ye shall not surely die, ye are gods". This false pagan teaching came from ancient Babylon and the pagan Greeks taught it, which is where the Roman Catholic Church got it from. The CA's 28th article was plainly AGAINST those Bishops that ABUSED their ecclesiastical powers and ADDED things to the Gospels. (But it is clear that also Luther recognized the authority of the Church as far as the Gospel of Salvation was kept free from burdening the conscience of the believers.) I have been a christian for almost 13 yrs now. But I was a J.W. for 5 yrs and I learned about the close association that they had in their beginning years with Ellen White. That is true and there is proof of it if anyone would like to look it up. I finaly had Jesus pretty much just jerk me awake and lead me back to Him. I had been saved when I was 9, but due to abuse, and a mother in occult I had forgotten it. Leaving the J.W.'s was the most fearfull time of my life. A cult is a hard thing to leave. It is fear based and you're scared to death that you will not be resurrected (as in the case of a J.W.) I also know about Mormons. I worked for a couple that are Morman. I know that Joseph Smith was a Mason, an occultist, and a few other things (There is proof online). And that Mormonism is based very much on Free Mason beliefs and rituals. As is their temple. It's just like a Masonic building. The top levels of masonic knowledge is all occult, but the lower level members don't know this. It is a society within a society. It's not a secret anymore. I found Ex Masons for Jesus quite informative. I tried to tell that to the husband of the couple I know. I said "Joseph Smith" was a mason. He asked me what was wrong with that!? I said, "It's paganism". No reply... I am glad godlycook posted this. Maybe someone will see it and let the Holy Spirit pull them just an inch or so further out of their brainwashed state. I remember being like that. I prayed a weak little prayer...Father if this is wrong please get me out of it...Then I finaly was able to pray again after I left the J.W.'s. That took a yr just to be able to pray again. I was in a 12 step program for about a yr to get help, and address my life, the abuse etc., when I went home one day and finaly falling to my knees and said, "I accept you Jesus as my Lord, Saviour, and God, and if I am not resurrected, so be it. I did it because I love you." That's what I did but i didn't really know why. I know now it was me remembering who my Lord is from a child. He never let me go. How good is our Lord!? Within 2 weeks my whole life changed and I was on my way to growth in Jesus! Praise the Lord! I wanted to say all this, to thank godlycook for posting this, and to let someone who may need to know, that they can come out of a cult, and Jesus is right there. He's right there at the door knocking. Just open the door a little and He'll catch you. HERE YOU GO: If a psychotic person ripped the arms off of someone, gouged their eyes out, burned the skin off of the bottom of their feet, and then turned around and demanded love and respect from his victim, that person would be put into a mental institution, yet that is what is expected of us towards this sick perverted creator!!! "Love me or I will tear you to pieces in hell" He says. Wonderful! That certainly is a good incentive to love this all-loving God. Death, wars, impalement, disembowelment, dismemberment, endless varieties of disease, corruption, and all of the wonderful matters of this forced existence on this wretched planet got to me and I realized that if God made us, he made us the way we were and it was insane to expect perfection out of creatures like us and if Jesus did in fact visit us, he did it for his own glory and did not give one crap for us. (Jesus was given all power and glory after his death and resurrection.) He knew perfectly well that from the beginning that we would be trash and that is the way he designed things to make his Son look good and be given all glory. At least that is the point I had gotten to. Instead of completely disbelieving the Bible, I got to the point where I realized that the Creator is one insane and "evil" individual. Right now I do not give one iota who God is, or what He thinks. I realize that He cannot be pleased and we are what we are. A dog acts because of the way a dog is made and programmed; a lion acts because of the way a lion is made and programmed; human beings act the way we do because of the way we are programmed. Identical twins separated at birth will often found to have identical personality traits even down to their choice of foods and their clothes. DNA makes us the way we are; not free will. If we are warring, thieving, murderous vermin, then we were made that way. I still sometimes have thoughts that the Scriptures were true and if they are then this God is a cruel, sick, murderous God. The longer you live, the more you see of death and destruction and it makes you ill. If this is a horrible world then don't blame us; we didn't make it !!! ...I was much happier and a better person before I believed in this God / Jesus garbage. I lost years seeking this hateful and vindictive God. Read the Old Testament; it is FILLED with murder and adultery by his own people and outright contradictions by the God of Abraham. The examples are far too many to list here. "Do not murder" He says in the Ten Commandments yet he ordered the Hebrews to kill 30,000 Midianites; men, women, children and even the animals they owned. I would say that is rather psychotic and contradictory, wouldn't you? I am through. I have had it with a God who can only kill, maim, and destroy. Okay now, should we all stop being Christians because of what that guy says about Christianity? I wonder what church he belonged to? Yours? ..this is why its ridiculous to get something from some ex-Adventist (if it really is in fact that) and post it. heres another from the ex Christian site: A sad excuse for a God Well for starters, the catalyst for me leaving was the doctrine of eternal damnation. Christians wanted me to believe that an all loving God would even create the possibility of such a horrible state to exist. If God is all loving and all powerful, which i believe He/She is, then God MUST be better than that. --------- And at least that is ACTUALLY WHAT YOUR CHURCH TEACHES... eternal damnation. dont you? The Seventh Day Adventist Church teaches absolutely NOTHING saying that Jesus was not God, that He was a literal created being angel, etc... you can lie all you want but that doesnt make it so. LOL! I didnt really read through the most of the garbage you have on your opening post but I just did a minute ago and at least you gave me a good laugh... dont know whether to laugh or cry. You are pathetic you really are. What a menagerie is lies and distortions. You, Dennis and SweetHoney need to learn a new skill.... showing where our doctrines are unbiblical. You CANNOT do it and that is why you always have to resort to this lying bit. Abd this idea that Jehovahs Witnesses and Seventh Day Adventists are closely associated... is about like making a big case out of saying Protestant Churches came from the Catholic Church so they are all evil. Is just stupid. Go take a course on the Bible and show where our doctrines are wrong. Oh yeah, problem one is you dont even KNOW what our doctrines are, you've got to keep making up doctrines for us that we dont even teach. Like I said, you three are just terribly pathetic. 1. You said Ellen White consulted the dead. THAT is an absolutel lie. I wrote to them, so I could put their reply here. I wrote: I was on the internet and someone on a christian chat room was giving out information that Ellen White consulted the dead, talking to her dead husband, James White. Can you please clear this up for me? Claudia from the Ellen White Estate: Dear Claudia, Thank you for contacting the Ellen G. White Estate. This account of Mrs. White's dream is published in two places: The Retirement Years, pp. 161-163, and in Manuscript Releases, volume 10, pp. 38-40. As such, it is not a revelation by one of Mrs. White's critics of previously hidden and damning evidence about her but an interesting and understandable incident from Ellen White's life. The White Estate trustees felt it would be of interest to people who perhaps had also lost their life companions. At both the beginning and the end of her account, Mrs. White identifies her experience as a dream, leaving us in no doubt about the nature of the event. Though in the dream James seemed to have come back to life (and thus in the dream Mrs. White expresses that natural wish that they shall continue on together), in reality she knew that it was just a dream, though one with a message from God in answer to her prayer. This is what distinguishes it from what her critics wish to portray it as--a kind of spiritualist communing with the dead. It was no such thing. The dream was vivid and seemed real, as dreams always do. But in her waking reflections she never imagined that she had actually been talking with James or with his "spirit." In the dream, she even puts it this way: "Father, I saw you die; I saw you buried. Has the Lord pitied me and let you come back to me again, and we work together as we used to?" This indicates her belief in resurrection, not spiritualism, or else they could not work together as they "used to." And her comment at the close, "This dream seemed so real," shows conclusively that she knew it was NOT real, but a dream. It seems to me that most people who are not looking for some basis on which to criticize Mrs. White will read her account as an appealing human-interest story of a grieving prophet. In this instance the Lord communicated with her, in a dream, in a manner that was sure to command her attention. She herself did not misunderstand the dream to mean that James had actually appeared to her, even in “spirit” form. Why should we take it otherwise? A friend of mine said, "Mrs. White knew the difference between a dream and reality, even if some of her critics don't." For comparison's sake, we might look at it this way: if someone (other than a professional illusionist such as David Copperfield) made a broom stand up by itself or a table float in the air without touching either one, you might well suspect that Satan's power was at work, wouldn't you? (And sometimes I'm suspicious about how David Copperfield does his performances!) Yet the Bible records a dream in which Joseph saw the sheaves of his brothers stand up, gather around his own, and bow down. Where did the dream come from? Wouldn't we say it was from God, even though it showed things which we would consider "devilish" if they happened in real life? But in the dream they have a meaning, and they were portrayed to convey that meaning. So it is with Mrs. White's dream. I hope I have answered your question. In the Introduction to one of her most popular books she wrote: "In some cases where a historian has so grouped together events as to afford, in brief, a comprehensive view of the subject, or has summarized details in a convenient manner, his words have been quoted; but in some instances no specific credit has been given, since the quotations are not given for the purpose of citing that writer as authority, but because his statement affords a ready and forcible presentation of the subject. In narrating the experience and views of those carrying forward the work of reform in our own time, similar use has been made of their published works" (The Great Controversy, p. xii). Ellen White's use of other authors was not limited to historical or geographical material, but included other subject areas as well. Research has found that she enriched her writings with choice expressions from her reading more extensively than had been known, although the amount that has been documented thus far is a small percentage (less than 2 percent) when measured against her total literary output. In 1980 Dr. Fred Veltman, at that time the chairman of the Religion Department of Pacific Union College, undertook a detailed analysis of Ellen White's use of literary sources in her book The Desire of Ages, a study which took eight years to complete. Copies of the full 2,561-page report were distributed to Seventh-day Adventist college and university libraries throughout the world. The complete report, including its 100-page summary, is also available online at the General Conference Archives web site. After researching about 1,000 copyright cases in American legal history, Ramik issued a 27-page legal opinion in which he concluded "Ellen White was not a plagiarist, and her works did not constitute copyright infringement/piracy."
