Its really interesting, to watch the responses to various BLOGS. I find that too many people don't know what to believe. They bob from one blog to another, saying AMEN to anything said. For example, if I post on the subject of salvation by grace alone; people will read what I've written and say AMEN to it. Then someone like Claudia will post on the subject of keeping the law, insisting that grace requires obedience to the law.
People will read her post, and say AMEN to it. The same people who just said AMEN to my post ! What's wrong with this picture ? Claudia is a member of a works driven religious organization ( or CULT ), so whenever she writes on a topic, we can expect her to present the SDA's false teaching of salvation by works and law keeping.
But when others here, who are professing to know Christ ( and are not members of a cult ), and claim they rely on His Shed Blood, for their salvation; take the same approach as Claudia. Realizing that there are many different religious persuasions here ( and around the world ) some good, some not so good , and some downright horrible.
Ought not those who profess to know Christ, look different ? Shouldn't their doctrine reflect a real hope, of a real Saviour who is able to save completely.

Just in case anyone doesn't realise who this post is directed against, here's something interesting to look at:

As in most all things there is a balance here, finding that balance in the law/grace issue has indeed been a struggle through the ages and continues to be so to this day.
"Thus also faith by itself is dead, if it does not have works it is dead. But someone will say, "you have faith, and I have works, and I will show you my faith by my works". James 2: 17-18
James point is real faith cannot help but be evidenced by works, the salvation of someone claiming they have faith in Christ but display no fruit renders the validity of their faith questionable. Jesus didn't lower the standards of the law, He magnified it.
"You have heard it said to those of old "You shall not commit adultery." "But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart". Matt 5:27-28.
Jesus raised the standard of the law, not only the act of adultery but now even the thought of it is trangressing the law by His standards, He gives many examples throughout Chapt 5. Though true through Christ we have been freed from the bondage of the law, but that is because the law was never intended to forgive sin, on the contrary it was to display our sin nature. So Jesus also said....
"For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by No Means pass from the law till all is fulfilled". Matt 5:18
Are all things fulfilled yet? Then neither has the law passed away. There's no way around these verses concerning the law and there are plenty more, but that's not the issue. Even from the time of the giving of the law salvation by grace was the only way man could be saved...
"...But the just shall live by faith". Habakkuk 2:4
The sacrifice of bulls and goats did not forvive sin, it only covered it and there is a difference. It covered it in the manner we would cover our eyes to avoid seeing something, the whole ritual was simply a foreshadow of one to come who could bring real forgiveness. When the offering was brought to the priest he did not look at he who brought the offering, he examined the offering itself, the one who brought it remained unchanged. This is the difference between the old sacrificial system and the perfect sacrifice of our Savior, his atonement is complete, He is the ultimate High Priest. God no longer has to cover our sin and look away, He now simply looks for His Son that is in us.
The law is a necessary part of God's model for man's redemption, without the law we would have little regard for sin or the need for salvation. Again, the law was never designed to save anyone, never did and never will. The best I can produce in the greatest of my efforts is but filthy rags and I can by no means escape the penalty of death. But God knowing my condition sent His Son to die in my place, the penalty for sin had to be paid and indeed it was, by Him on my behalf. In reality I too am considered dead, crucified with Christ, the demand of the law has been met. And now I am in Him and it is no longer I that live but Him that lives in me, so what does He then require? Does He not Himself have expectations that display my claims to be of the faith in Him?
"If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love". John 15:10
"If you love me, keep My commandments". John 14:15
We should not disregard the "IF' His statements begings with, "IF' suggests there is a condition, so what is the condition?....
"This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you". John 15:12
The word for love here is the word "agapeo" the highest form of love, the kind of love that God displayed by giving His Son on our behalf. You think we're getting off easy here, not a chance, the work expected us now is even greater than before. The love Jesus states He expects us to render to others is a perfect love. If we have that kind of love we will not lie ( or even consider it ), we will not steal ( nor even covet anothers belongings ), we will not murder ( or even hate someone ), we will not commit adultery ( or even look at a woman with it in mind ) etc, in essence to fulfill Christ's requirement of us we should fulfill the 10 commandments ( i/e the law ) x 2.
Jesus expects us to give high regard to the law, yet ( praise God )knowing that when we fail we have a mediator in whom to turn to. Nevertheless the law was never abolished, we are still to regard it as the standard of perfection.
So what is faith then,if we claim it is the only way of salvation then we must define it properly. True faith is a verb, not a noun, it dentes an action, If I believe therefore I_________ fill in the blank. The word "believe" in the grk is "pisteuo" it is defined as follows: Respect to a person or thing, commit to, put trust in". We are indeed saved by faith, not by our works, but any real faith does exactly what Jesus requires, it loves and that is a work. It loves those who does not always agree with us, it certainly does not go out of it's way to belittle another publicly, it does to others as would have done to itself.
Shalom

Rockdog50....... you're getting ahead of me. I plan to cover the two most prevalent errors; effecting the church concerning the doctrine of justification, one being anti-nomianism and the other Legalism. One teaches faith minus works, and the other faith plus works. Both are wrong.

. Without Absolute Truth, there are only lies disguised as truth, if you know not the Absolute Truth and it is NOT within you, you will embrace a relative truth that fits your eternity, that is presently before you.
Continue to be faithful, deliverance is near, obedience must be seen, be an unconditional blessing as He continues to bless you.
This time is short, serve Him well, serving all.

godlycook,
I have repeatedly explained my beliefs here on this board and have never said we have a "works based Religion". Not in any way shape or form. But is makes things easier for you to accuse me of being in a "Cult". Not to worry, in old days they accused all Christianity of being a Cult and some accused Jesus of being Beelzebub (Satan).
I have said over and over again that if we received truly the grace of God and love God, we will do good works and if we do not then that is proof we never received God's grace and do not have faith. You dont argue with me, you argue with the Bible.
GOOD WORKS PROVES YOU HAVE GENUINE FAITH: Jms:2: 14: What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 17: Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18: Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19: Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
YOU WONT BE SAVED WITHOUT GOOD WORKS: Jms:1:21: Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ALL I CAN SAY "IS IT IS WRITTEN," and I am in good Company:
Mt:5:19: Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Mt:15:9: But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Mt:19:17: And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
Mt:22:40: On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Mk: 7 : 7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Mk:10:19: Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.
Lk:1:6: And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.
Lk:18:20: Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.
Jn:14:15: If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Jn:14:21: He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Jn:15:10: If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
1Cor:19: 7 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.
Ti:1:14: Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.
1Jn:2:3: And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
1Jn:2:4: He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1Jn:3:22: And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
1Jn:3:24: And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
1Jn:5:2: By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
1Jn:5:3: For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
2Jn:1:6: And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
Rv:12:17: And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Rv:14:12: Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Rv:22:14: Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

However, I do have to agree that it is ridiculous how alot of people on here will say AMEN to both me and someone else who are doctrinally at odds with one another....
They will say you have to keep the Commandments and then turn around and say AMEN to someone who says that you dont have to.
It sort of reminds me of how Protestants who are supposed to be PROTESTING the errors of the Roman Catholic Church will claim the Catholic Church is wrong and claim they go by SOLA SCRIPTURA... but then turn right around and OBEY the Roman Catholic Church's edits... such as the Sunday Sabbath which has NO Scriptural basis.
CONSISTENCY IS A JEWEL!
MARTIN LUTHER:"They allege the Sabbath changed into Sunday, the Lord's day, contrary to the Decalogue, as it appear, neither is there any example more boasted of than the changing of the Sabbath day. Great, they say, is the power and authority of the church, since it dispensed with one of the Ten Commandments." Martin Luther, Augsburg Confession of Faith, art. 28.
“I hope that the last day is at the door. Things could not become worse than the Roman see makes it. It suppresses the commandments of God, it exalts its own commandments above God’s. If this is not Antichrist, then some one else must tell what it is.” - “Luther’s Reformatory Works,” p. 280. Copenhagen: 1883.
"Reason and common sense demand the acceptance of One or the other of these alternatives: either Protestantism and the keeping holy of Saturday, or Catholicity and the keeping holy of Sunday. Compromise is impossible." The Catholic Mirror, December 23, 1893
"She (the Catholic Church) took the pagan Sunday and made it the Christian Sunday... and thus the pagan Sunday, dedicated to Balder (Baal) became the Christian Sunday sacred to Jesus". (Catholic World, March 1894, pg.809)
"Not the Creator of the Universe in Genesis 2:1-3, but the Catholic Church 'can claim the honor of having granted man a pause to his work every seven days'" --S.C. Mosna Storia della Domenica. 1969. pp. 366-367
"Sunday is a Catholic institution, and its claims to observancecan be defended only on Catholic principles.... From the beginning to the end of Scriptures there is not one single passage which warrants the transfer of weekly public worship from the last day of the week to the first." Catholic Press (Sydney) August 25, 1900.
"The Christian Sabbath (Sunday) is therefore to this day the acknowledged offspring of the Catholic Church, as spouse of the Holy Ghost, without a word of remonstrance from the protestant world." The Catholic Mirror Sept. 23. 1893
If Protestants would follow the Bible, they should worship God on the Sabbath Day. In keeping the Sunday they are following the law of the Catholic Church." Albert Smith, Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, replying for the Cardinal in a letter dated Feb. 10, 1920.

I must say one more thing as well...
AT LEAST the Roman Catholic Church KNOWS who Her ENEMY is. They are not confused and say AMEN to one thing then AMEN to the opposite thing.
“The Church changed the observance of the Sabbath to Sunday by right of the divine, infallible authority given to her by her Founder, Jesus Christ. The Protestant, claiming the Bible to be the only guide of faith, has no warrant for observing Sunday. In this matter the Seventh Day Adventist is the only consistent Protestant . The Catholic Universe Bulletin, August 14, 1942.
"Perhaps the boldest thing... the Church ever did, happened in the first century. The holy day, the Sabbath, was changed from Saturday to Sunday. "The day of the Lord" was chosen, not from any direction noted in the Scriptures, but from the Church's sense of its own power.... People who think that the Scriptures should be the sole authority, should logically become Seventh-day Adventists, and keep Saturday holy." (Saint Catherine Church Sentinel, Algonac, Michigan, May 21, 1995.)
AND SUNDAY LAWS WILL BE LEGISLATED, AS CHURCH AND STATE UNITE... then you are going to have to make a DECISION... and decide who to obey...
"Christians will naturally strive to ensure that "civil legislation" (religious laws) respects their duty to "keep Sunday holy".-Section 67, "Dies Domini", July 7, 1998 - emphasis added.
SUNDAY is our MARK of authority. . . . The church is ABOVE the Bible, and this transference of Sabbath observance is proof of that fact.”—Catholic Record, September 1, 1923.

Claudia.......SDA's present a gospel of works on top of works. Its like you were given a do-it-yourself kit, with which you must feverishly work to maintain your own salvation. I know what you believe, and its not the Gospel of Christ.
