This appeared in the back of the church bulletin from a week ago, in the so-called tip of the week. Tell me what you think about it ?
SHOULD SOMEONE TITHE WHILE IN DEBT ?
" Yes, if you want to get out of debt. The natural man says no. Proverbs 14:12, " There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death. " We forget we owed God a long time before we owed these debts. He rightfully has first claim. Matthew 6:33 promises that if we will put Him first, all these other things will be added unto us, and in this way every need will be met.
Why should we tithe while in debt ? Because we must also remember that we are in partnership, that we are handling the money that belongs to our silent partner, and it requires that He gets His rightful part off the top. If He does not get it, then it is called embezzlement. It is important to pay Him His part, for He is looking out for our interest and can allow us to get deeper into debt or to prosper so we might get out of debt. "
I reposted this because it seemed to disappear.
No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. 1 Cor. 2: 7
