"provided his faith is strong enough to withstand the humanistic concepts to which he will be exposed"....

If you go out in the real world and face the trials there, you will find out there is no difference between taking a study to become a psychologist as a Christian and facing the real world.

Young Christians should be able to go out in the world facing the real thing "provided his faith is strong enough to withstand the humanistic concepts to which he will be exposed" which he will meet in every aspect of this world.

This whole world only deals with things being not spiritual but material. So don't expect the world to add Jesus or a belief in Him to your sphere.
Driving a motorbike doesn't make me a Christian, but a Christian riding a motorbike can make it a thing Christians also do.

"Going to Church doesn't make you a Christian any more than going to McDonald's makes you a hamburger.
Praying doesn't make you a Christian. People of every religion prays."
Quote: Keith Green

As I wrote somewhere before:
"Psychology is the science of describing the behaviour of man.
If daring to take a closer look, we all use psychology for interactions with others.
E.g you want a candy from your mom, and want to persuade her to give you one.
Point one must be to behave in the right way, so you can charm her to give you some.

Or you want someone to back off, so you talk and behave in a way that makes you seem bigger and authoritative.

Or you don't know what to say when you tried to get the upper hand in a discussion but failed, so what do you do?
Look at the recent posts done by e.g Web, and you will see what a lot of people do. It's called vindictive. A childish behaviour. Jesus did in fact teach us to use psychology.
"If anyone crave your shirt, give him also your trousers. If anyone force you to go one mile with him, walk two miles with him".
"Bless those who curse you. You are putting glowing charcoal on his head".

And Jesus knew the true value of a word spoken: "Anyone calling another person "Raka" is condemning himself to the fires of Hell".

So everybody - Christian or pagan - uses psychology in their daily life. We just do it without giving it a second thought."

So I don't doubt you have seen people using psychology....
