Here comes another Christmas. The world is in a Christmas-

Here comes another Christmas. The world is in a Christmas- festive mood right now. But actually, what is Christmas or what are we actually celebrating that is called Christmas? Christmas is coined/derived from the phrase "Christ-Mass" - the gathering of God's to celebrate the arrival(birth) of Christ the saviour into the world on 25th of December. For those of you who try to change Christmas to seasonal or holiday celebration, Christmas is worth the holiday set aside to celebrate it and is worth celebrating but Christmas celebration is Christmas celebration, not seasonal or holiday celebration.

25th of December is the first step and extremely important in the God's plan of salvation for mankind. 25h of December is the birthday of Jesus Christ-Christ came into the world for a mission - to accomplish the work of salvation for mankind. Christ was crucified, he died, on the 3rd day, he rose from dead/resurrected, thereby accomplishing God's plan of salvation for mankind-paying for the sins of the world with his own blood. If you're wondering why Christ has to die? Well, wages of sin is death-he died to pay for your sins with his own blood so that you don't need to die(end up in hell). Sin came into the world through the first man (Adam). We all are the descendants of Adam, we all inherited sinful nature in our being - every man/woman is born with sinful nature. Christ died to pay for our sins(sin we inherited from Adam and the sins we committed by ourselves throughout our life time) with his own blood
The resurrection of Jesus Christ on the 3rd day is celebrated as Easter. Without the birth of Christ on 25th on December, there will be no Easter. Without Easter, there will be nothing like Christianity. So, 25th of December is worth celebrating. Salvation is free but it's not cheap -someone paid for it for you with his own life. Having said that, salvation/the forgiveness of your sins is not automatic, you must accept Jesus Christ as your savour-you must accept the salvation/forgiveness of sin Christ is offering you freely. Going to church regularly or praying regularly does not make you a Christian. To be a Christian or to be saved or for all your sins(past and present) to be forgiven so you can enter the presence of God, simply believe in Jesus Christ as your savour then you're saved. If you've accepted Christ, irrespective of your church denomination (Anglican, Catholic, Baptist, Protestant,…), you're a Christian.

Today, we are called Christians (Christ-like people, Christ followers, those who have been saved) cause we have accepted Christ as our savour- we have accepted the salvation/the forgiveness of sin Christ is offering to everyone freely. It's funny that the whole world is going crazy right now with jubilation and celebration of the birth/arrival of the one who came to save mankind but when he offers mankind the salvation he paid for with his own blood freely, mankind reject it. Yet, every 25th of December, the same people who reject the salvation offered to them will dance and celebrate the arrival of the one who came to accomplish the work of salvation.

its meaningless to celebrate Christmas but rejects the salvation that comes along with it. Make this Christmas meaningful. Dance and celebrate Christmas but most important, accept the salvation/the forgiveness of your sins Christ is offering you freely
