Christ is Able to Save to the Uttermost

“Wherefore He is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever lives to make intercession for them.” Hebrews 7:25.

“Love asks for nothing–everything comes back to it.” There is a story of a young woman, the organist in the village church, who hated her brother because he ran away from home with the family fortunes when he was young. The sister was forced to support her widowed mother for many years. Finally the brother returned home to find that his mother apparently had forgotten about his sin. She seemed to think of him only as the honest boy he once had been.
In her hatred the sister threatened to tell the mother all about her brother’s theft unless he carried out her commands. For a time she made his life as miserable as her own. One day, however, the brother and sister knelt at their mother’s deathbed. The was constrained to confess his sin. He said, “Mother, you have forgotten, that once I stole your money, and left you poor. You have forgotten, but I am confessing it now, and I ask your forgiveness.”
“No, ,” said the mother, “I have not forgotten, but I forgave you and put it out of my mind long ago, because I love you.”
This deep love destroyed the hatred in the sister’s heart. To her minister she said, “Do you know, all of the hatred is gone out of my heart. It had to go, when I found such a forgiving love as that.”
Our Father’s love is a forgiving love. When we confess our sins, they are blotted out and will be remembered no more if we are faithful in our allegiance to God. The love of Christ in our hearts can wipe all hatred away. Jesus saves to the uttermost. There is no limit to His love. “Having loved His own which were in the world, He loved them unto the end.” John 13:1.

May the Lord bless you and keep you

What a great story of forgiveness. Thanks for sharing. I have a question: stemmed from a post on magazine. About embarrasing God. I am a standard member so, I have to ask in this fashion. Some people answered they feel that God had been embarrased by them and their actions, others stated no, because they felt He knew we are mere human and will fail always. I, too, would have answered yes. Why do you think some feel we can embarrass God while others feel we can't? We all read the same Bible. I realize you don't have the overall answer, just an opinion is good enough. Thanks.

Cherish all your happy moments: they make a fine cushion for old age.

the same reason we have all the different denominations sister. even though denominations are not mentioned in the bible we have thousand of different ones, because there is a group that reads a certain passage, intreprets it one way and gets a group of followers to believe that passage as he believes it. the same reason we have some believers that believe in pre tribulation, some believe in post tribulation, and some believe in mid tribulation, it is the way in which they intrepret the scriptures. i could go on and on and on, but hopefully you get the idea sister. i find that most people follow those that preach the way they want to hear. you have a preacher that gets in your face and all he preaches is hard messages about you sinning and you going to hell then you are not going to follow that preacher, you will want to follow the preacher that preaches on love all the time and the forgiveness of God, that is not always right either, but sounds better then going to hell, doesn't it. you have gay preachers telling homosexuals that what they are doing is fine, so they follow that preacher. i dont' feel you can embarass God, we embarass ourselves by our actions which goes against God and what God stands for. anyway just my opinion i am sure there are many that disagree with it, cheers and God bless you sister

May the Lord bless you and keep you
