Was thinking about the debate on the Purgatory thread of angel_q92. A scenario came to mind. Do we ever remove money from the offering plate because we don't agree with the person who's giving? Have any of us ever handed back a donation because of the beliefs of the person giving? ...Or do we assume they agree that our work is for Christ and they are giving to support that? In my eyes, the things posted in blogs are people's offerings to God. It's okay to say we don't agree...definitely, with all gentleness and respect to the person. It would also be great if we all remembered that the person posting has a heart to give to the work of Christ. In my eyes, angel came across as if she was simply trying to give what she thought was a gift to help our relationships with Christ. Just my 2 cents. |

I don't think anyone really means to come across as sharp as vinegar. I guess it just happens. I'm glad you've been here, along with others, as you all have really encouraged my relationship with God.

We can only pray that personal attacks will cease. I've been here just a little over a yr in blog. And I have seen so much of it. Been in chat for 5 yrs now. Oh...and P.S. The debate on her blog WAS actually pretty gentle considering the history I've seen here. There weren't any personal attacks on her as a person, which I appreciated.
