Pedicure Gone Bad!

10/4/2009 5:48 am
After working for my first Saturday, I went to a new salon that just opened that I went to once before to treat myself to a pedicure and manicure.

We started with the pedicure. The owner had done mine the last time I was there and did an awesome job. It's a young couple, just starting out in their own business and they went way out of their way to make my experience very pleasant. I knew I would go back again. Yesterday, someone else was going to be doing the job. I was ok with that.

She finished removing old polish and trimming nails on my left foot and she was beginning to work on the right and she actually snipped my flesh under my big toe.

The cry was of a wild animal.

The blood began to flow.

I couldn't believe it. This has never happened to me before. The owners came over and were very concerned - they stopped the bleeding, applied anti-bacterial ointment and a band-aid. I told them that I wanted to just get out of there, that I was uncomfortable continuing, that in the future, I wanted only the owners to work on me.

I re-scheduled for Monday after work.

The poor girl that did this was SO upset that it had happened. She actually had tears in her eyes when she realized I wasn't staying. I just couldn't let her continue.

So, Lovebug, how are things going for you otherwise?

Ouch! I used to get fake nails at salons every once in a blue moon. They would file my real nails down so thin that it was almost gone.

Plus, some were in trouble for using super glue instead of nail glue. (If you catch a fake nail put on with super glue, there's a risk that it'll rip your natural nail out also. Acrylic nails don't break like natural nails would do.)

Since my personal preference was different, I started doing them at home.

Actually, after the cost of supplies, my own manicures came to only 50 cents for a full set! They were a little rougher looking, but more than adequate for my desires.

However, professional ones almost always look and last better than a home one.

Oh you whimps. Nothing feels as good as a nice dip in hot transmission oil.
LOL - well, let's dip you in hot transmission oil AND then snip off a piece of your toe and see who the whimp is.

Hey handsome - I don't like going to them either, but I DO go for 2 dental hygiene appointments (at least) and ONE checkup annually with my docs. I visit mechanics only when I need to, but I believe in doing preventative maintenance on both my body and car!

Feeling better already! thanks.

LOL - thanks! I'm sure it'll all be made right on Monday. They kept saying "solly, so solly" and the male owner followed me out to my car and said "I FREE you next time". I knew what he meant. They really felt bad.
