Does God speak to us in dreams? Why or why not? I've had the answer to something that was troubling me come in a dream (which eased my mind) and later it happened. To Him be the glory. |

YEP God DEFINITELY speaks to us in dreams! Rom. 5:8 while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us

I have had several dreams that I felt could only come from God...I've been awakened by dreams where I felt & heard The Word or an Angel of God speaking to me..I believe I've had several prophetic dreams...A sister in the Lord once asked me to blog my dreams in here...I thought about it & still may someday...Lords' will..and...in Gods' timing if it be His will..GB.. "Jesus Christ is Lord "

I believe that God does speak directly to us in dreams. While asleep our concious mind brings down the barriers and we are able to "hear" His Voice clearer. But sometimes He is not speaking to us, we have just drifted into either the second Heaven(angels and demons realm) or the third Heaven (the throne room). I commonly have dreams that are real events. I only realize what they were when I read the news the next day or two days after. God wasn't directly speaking to me, I just picked up on what is going on in the spirit world. In my case the dreams where He is speaking to me or the ones from the throne room are accompied by the Holy Spirit "signs" in me. I have been waken up at night covered in sweat and tears and sometimes I haven't been entirely awake but I remember being "slain in the Spirit". These are just my experiences. Here is a really good example and this is absolutely true. A few weeks after I was saved, I had the kids and we were going to the lake the next day. My wife and I were having trouble so we were living seperately. We were trying to work things out, or so I thought. After 3 in the morning I woke up with a severe pain in my back and all I hear in my mind was, "Take the kids to her house". So I was hurting so bad I figured I needed to take the kids to her house and go to the hospital. So I got them in the truck and went to her house. When I got there her car was in her neighbors driveway, so I went to his door and knocked. That is how I found out the truth of what was really happening. Then the pain in my back went away, the instant they opened the door.

I've had these dreams for a very long time. Some are not so pleasant as you can imagine. Thanx for the responses. To Him be the glory.

Hey You, so glad you posted about this. I would love to know what these dreams are if you feel led to ever share them. I do believe he talks to us in dreams. I do not so much have prophetic dreams as I have dreams that show me how to pray. Here is an example. My dear friend (I'll call her Ann) lived in the same apt. complex as I did. This was in 1987. She had had a breast masectomy on one side. One night, I kept being disturbed in my sleep by visions of demons. I would have the Lord rebuke these demons and go back to sleep. Finally, at 3:00 in the morning, I was awakened and had been dreaming of Ann and she was in pain. Her lost breast was hurting. That does happen. The next morning when I called Ann, she told me she had a very horrible night with ghost pain in her missing breast. This was the first time this had ever happened to her to this extent. I am ashamed to admit I did not pray but just went back to sleep. This was a lesson to me. When someone I know, or even don't know, shows up in a dream I now PRAY for them. It is something God has given me. It is absolutely true, he speaks to us in dreams and visions. GBU Romans 14 verse 5 One person regards one day holier than other days, and another regards them all alike. 3 Each must be fully convinced in his own mind.

YEP God DEFINITELY speaks to us in dreams! And as you say, sometimes the dreans aren't always so pleasant if He's trying to warn us of something....but it's for our protection or to warn others I've usually found... GBU
