Hi Drifter, I believe in having civilized dialogue about the Bible. But I DONT believe we are supposed to be UNSURE about what we believe. In fact I think thats ALOT of whats wrong with Christianity today. Its like, "My Truth is just as good as yours and maybe Im right, or maybe not but who cares?" If the Bible says we are supposed to "contend for the faith once delivered to the saints" then how can we if we arent even sure what that IS? Seriously, you never see John or Paul or Timothy saying, "well heres what I think but I could be wrong, who knows? and I should just wonder all the time if everything I believe is wrong". See what I mean? I KNOW what you are saying, and I agree to a CERTAIN extent, but it has gotten today where people dont even know WHAT to believe anymore. God wants us to be ESTABLISHED in the Truth. I mean seriously, can you just imagine the people who are going to persecute the true Believers, and the ones who are supposed to be Believers dont even know WHAT they believe for sure? You see, Drifter, if you read especially through the 4 Gospels you can see that its THE CHRISTIANS who are going to be the ones doing the persecuting. And Jesus said the reason is this: Mt:5:10: Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Mt:5:11: Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. ...right in the next few sentences Jesus said the following: 17: Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18: For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19: Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20: For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. Can you see this? Hes saying that we will be persecuted because we defend His Law. But what if we seem UNSURE of what we are even saying? Like, "Okay everyone come here and I will tell you what I THINK might be the Truth and you tell me what you THINK is the Truth and we will just all go 'OKAY YOUR TRUTH IS JUST AS GOOD AS MINE AND LETS JUST HUG AND CALL IT GOOD'. Seriously, Jesus said MANY would come to Him on that day saying, "We taught in your streets, we cast out devils, we were CHRISTIANS, so let us IN" and Jesus is going to say "Depart from Me I dont even KNOW YOU, ye that work LAWLESSNESS" So if someone is going trying to WAKE PEOPLE UP before its too late, should they just be going, "well heres what I THINK and you tell me what you THINK... and PERHAPS Im right but maybe not..." This all really came into full swing with the "Im okay, you're okay" mentality, back in the Hippie days. And did you know Satan has whirled all this around to where, now in Australia, the USA and Canada, its to where it is considered a "HATE CRIME" to even dare to say someone else's Religion is WRONG? Im not totally sure to what extent it is so, in all three places, but I knew it was getting that way in the USA but just recently heard about the thing in Canada and Australia now too. Toss it up towards God and say..."hey, have I got this right...??" That works if we're in tune with God. If we're not, we're subject to hearing from all sorts of misleading spirits. Remember the spirit of deception? In fact, I believe we're subject to deception even if we are in tune with God. That's why we're asked to test the spirits and to not ignore the truths we've been given. I think that's why we share with each other. If there's anything not right, we can help each other to a sound faith. At any rate, I do believe we should be doing that in our own personal devotional time. Here on the blogs, we're here to interact.

"We" have got to know what we believe! I've always wondered about that "wee-wee" on the mouth of certain bloggers! Why just don't say it straight, Clawdia! The WE you use are those who believe like you do! Jesus came just to to say "WOE-hoo" to those that don't follow the OT in their least details! WOE-hoo! Who changed the Sabbath day to Sunday? WOE-hoo! Don't you know "you" won't get into the Kingdom of God if you don't follow the Sabbath? WOE-hoo! "My" truth can't be as good as yours if you don't follow the OT! WOE-hoo! Hey, Drifter, we have a word for "transference", intended as "TRANSMIGRATION". That is "Metempsychosis. You didn't intend something like money "tranfer-ence", did you? LOL! You might want to explain further what you would like to hear?

You might want to explain further what you would like to hear? What I was refering to was the assigning of guilt to someone while being guilty themselves. And that can exist in almost anything facet of life. I had just heard of a case (not here at BC) where a man was accusing his wife of adultery and she was innocent and he was actually the one guilty. That is a common story, and we have all heard it many times. There are no gender barriers to these sorts of things either. I've seen women claim being abused while being abusive to everyone around them. And, like I said, those are only examples and can exist in many different areas. Who knows...maybe I don't have my terms right... Somehow I've learned how to listen to the sound of the sun going down. ~ R. Crowell

longing=I think that's why we share with each other I agree....I have seen some hard to understand scriptures and then hear some one tell of a geographic or historical or cultural element that will make it clear. On that line above I really only meant it for those who might be accusing someone of being guilty of something and yet not see that trait in themselves. Claudia=But I DONT believe we are supposed to be UNSURE about what we believe. hmmm...well, I can tell you that I am unsure about many things and I am no beginner. I have...in my past...asked others some very hard questions that they couldn't answer...but I don't do that so often anymore. I just don't see creating any doubt in people as a worthwhile thing to do. Most of what I am referring to here are not those critical to salvation, though. But me personally is not really the issue. There are a lot of 'gray' areas that everyone should keep in mind. And these have been discussed here before. If 'few' are to find their way to heaven, then that means most are going to miss it. So, I think this should tell us most do not even have a basic understanding or have not even heard the first time. How can any of these be "sure" of anything. The young in age, the young to the faith, the ones who have been so firmly taught wrong or been exposed only to serious falseness. One can't go from being 'unsure" to "sure" immediately in all things, can they...? I can't. If the admonition is "to work out your salvation with fear and trembling" then that implies one ought to get on with it but don't you think that that path has many twists and turns that have to be worked out...?? I'm sure I'm missing addressing some of your response, but I am not good with long answers...and I am being summoned again...got to go. Real life is getting in the way of my unreal life....*S*.. Drift don't get caught up in the Balderdash around here ya getting ya boots dirty Mate  hey we are fighting against SPIRITUAL WARFARE and it's obviously rampant around this place STILL  love and Gods PROTECTION always Chris xo there is only ONE TRUTH as I read it THE BIBLE... why is it people continue to dispute GODS WORD  I was only saying to a friend yesterday how we can easily become confused when we allow others opinions to distort truth.. Only one word comes to mind. hello Chrissy.... well...I not only posted that hastily the answers I made were written out very quick as well....I had to go help someone... anyway... It just seems that BC could be used for many good things and yet misunderstandings and ill will get bred unnecessarily. Good post and statement drifter. It would be nice to not have personal attacks when discussing scripture. There is a scripture about guiding a brother out of error in gentleness. I'll have to look it up. I remember the in all gentleness part, or something like that. Tired tonight but just wanted to say I agree. Claudia...let me pick up where I left off...but before that... 1) I've always admired your efforts on the straight line issue type posts, although I certainly haven't read them all. 2) Of late, you have had shorter ones and I think that works better than some that were severely long. I, personally, am not against a long read, but I don't come to BC for that. 3) I also admire your perseverance in speaking out under sometimes less than favorable circumstances. 4) I also recognize your willingness to discuss issues properly and I believe you when you say so. I hope you continue to just ignore unjustified criticisms...just ignore them. Jesus and Stephen and I am sure many of the other early martyrs simply asked that God forgive them ...all while being stoned and crucified. Somebody has to break the cycle. Somebody has to be willing to take the hit without hitting back. Time will carry with it all the justification any one needs. I do have some questions about SDA, etc....some doubting, some not.... but this is long and I will work them in as time goes on. Thanks for the answer on the 'veil'. I haven't read the post you refered to but will do later as heading out. sometimes Eddie I have found here many know how to lure and prey on our weaknesses and it's up to us to grow and steer clear from the influences of our past if you know what I mean.speaking personally here ok..TROUBLE MAKERS LOOM as much as SCAMMERS... it's like the wheat and the tare mixed together... we are to let the light of Jesus guide us always and be a beacon unto all those that walk in the shadows of everyday life... Ah, OK Drifter... you're still on Earth. Metempsychosis has to do with transmigration at death of the soul into another body. Here on Earth we use to look for "scapegoats" and we "pass the buck". Sure, the last one is a form of "transference" too, I would say. Then we have the malign actions, like to calumniate", slander, vilify, defame, libel... etc. They all seem to spring from evil motives in order to achieve profit and advantage at all costs. 848

Chrissy=Blessings always and these comments weren't directed personally at you... we are all known by our fruit...Amen yes and thanks for pointing that out...because I have come to realize that that may be ultimate hurdle...the fruits. I, as said before, have had some changes of opinion about BC since first coming here. I was expecting 'dating' dialogue when I first looked into the door, but then when I saw more 'issues' being discussed then I decided to 'come on in'. But then, reading more, I saw the 'issues' being 'warred over' which actually surprised me. So, some of my writings wrote to that. Then, it didn't take long to see that the mix is not ever going to be homogeneous. So, my stance has been that if there is one God...giving His one people HIs one word ...then why are we so divided...? Why aren't we one...? One big part is that there is indeed an adversary at work...some working within and sometimes on the outside. And then there is the part about God giving His word to the people at differing stages....everything He said doesn't apply to all at all time...and that becomes a problem when someone teaches otherwise. And there are other factors...not to go into here, but the bottom line is that none of those things can be unraveled with anyone who is not truly searching for the truth that God wants us to have. I doN't kNow Nothing about No moNey "traNsfer-eNce" aNd No traNsfer-"oNce" Neither!!! I'm iNNocent 2! I like these cute field numbers, and I'm getting a lot of doublets lately. (doublets= two alike) Well, I used to type them ONLY when I got all of them like, but I haven't seen many lately. So WYSIWYG, and don't complain! Oh, you're the squid? Octopus? Septipus? Pluripus? LOL! You aren't Nemo too? Sandy beaches... huh... as for a vacation or to build a house on them? Candy wrappers can be put into the beer bottles. The bottles here are actually "wanted"! They give you over a DIME: $ 0.178 for every one. For the big ones (1.5 L ) it's $ 0.445. When you collect at least 2000, you may leave and fulfill your dream...
