A few months back I was concerned about newcomers observing the way some of the "debates" were being conducted....but that problem is now on the back burner.

Try this/......go to bee cee homepage before logging in....click on blogs. There will be a search box for username and text. You can key in your username or anyone's. Under text you can put in your name or Jesus' name or any word you want and then look at the header at the top of the page that then comes up. Right below it will be your picture and mine and the blog headers.

This is what a newcomer will find.

My my, aren't we the shy one. Here's the read up, which is right above the username's listings:

Look into the raunchy minds of frequent BigChurch blog posters as they reveal their sexy secrets. From the horny housewife with secret anal fantasies, to the young stud whispering of his cuckolding of his boss with his boss’s slutty older wife, to the most outrageous fantasies of gangbangs and anonymous sex, we have it here. You can share your own raunchy swinger stories and catch the attention of someone who may turn out to the next chapter in your ongoing saga of seduction.

Anybody seeking Christ is probably going to be turned off by that false advertising and not enticed to come in. Really, BigChurch is shooting their foot.

Drifter, I was a little concerned about addressing the swinger's lifestyle on BigChurch, yet it seems as viable a need as anything. If this is what's being advertised, I wonder how seriously we have to recognize this as a ministry need.

I am into some intense paperwork right now for a few days...so I didn't have time to deal with it all.....

*S*...the reason I gave directions was to avoid printing that here...but I should have I guess.

Why do you keep saying I am shy...??? that is supposed to be a secret...*S*

Anyway, I don't think the issue above is an accident or oversight. I don't see it as BC shooting itself in the foot, as it is more and more obvious that there is no BC, really. There is a larger corporate entity that is a business. Bc is thus just a chapter of that for more business and by having the paragraph above accomplishes two goals....the one you mentioned of turning those who might sincerely be looking for a site like BC and be redirected as well as making "church' be viewed in a bad light to plenty of people who are all too willing to do that. With your picture and mine and everyone's immediately below that ...coupled with some of our own headlines that sometimes fit into that program I can see a problem of mislabeling at the least.
Anyway, as to discussing topics, I agree with you. I have never had a problem with what topics are discussed nor your way of discussing things.

Well, one thing I know, we lost Claudia. It seemed she had just accepted the new non-contentious blogs, and then came the sex blogs. So it's true, there are some people that want to push for it. I really don't have a problem discussing, if people are sincere in their searching and concerns, like the gay issue, and some just feel the need to share. When the new string of sex posts came up, I made a decision to post on ministering to swingers. You know what they say about when life hands you lemons - you make lemonade.

I was serious when I said that people need entertainment. When people organize an outreach ministry, it's always centered around an event. They don't just preach Christ. Many are offended enough by the advertising to leave BC. Really, when the new string of sex posts came out, I made my mental note to guard my heart. On the positive side, it is allowing some people to open up to receive care.

Maybe it's time you did another post on the titles we choose. Don't forget the sugar for your lemonade.

Claudia left because of the ads or the posts...??? I haven't been reading BC so much in the last two weeks or so.

Yea...i see those post titles all of the time...but I'm not sure if I will do them again.

Every time I see the history channel do one of their documentaries I like the fact that a certain subject is discussed, but I see how they inject plenty of doubtful things and slant some things that shouldn't be.
One of those is on John the Baptist....somebody could do a good post on him.

I wouldn't have known this if you hadn't posted it! I don't usually type my username there! LOL!
However, what did you mean by "my picture and yours"? I didn't see any pictures or blogs, only the heading.

PS: Why did you delete your posts? Did you watch Kent, btw?

Did you try to click on the keywords/links? I haven't done it yet, but I want to see where they bring me.
We could do some more posts about it, and send them to BC board!

But if Drifter keeps on deleting his posts, I won't link his!

355 (again)! Then I edited it and I got 748.

Well, it looked similar to the main blog page that we all use....a column of pictures on the left with their related blog title to the right...but those links only take a newcomer to a sign up page.

Yea...*S*...i haven't liked my posts so much lately...they sound so good in the middle of the night when i write them and then the next morning....I ask myself 'did I write that..?' *S*, why did I write that...?, why did I post that...?

so I was taking them down and double checking when I found this little issue and thought it was ...hmmm...interesting. but now I am asking myself...why did I post this...???

Every time I speak for Claudia, it seems I misrepresent her, so I guess she'd have to speak for herself. That is when I noticed her gone though.

I wrote something once...can't remember if I ever posted it...but it was tieing events from WWII in a string of succession on up to the present day and showing how things like the Playboy movement>>Playgirl>>free love>>>change of laws>>>acceptance of those laws into society and then>>>results. It was long, but the underlying thread was how society's ways have been accepted by the 'church' ever so gradually that the values have changed with little notice or objection.
I can point to some severe problems with the "Amish" way, but they at least recognize this aspect.

Maybe it's worth a repost if you still have it hidden somewhere.

Well, I went to the home page and without logging in and did as you suggested using 'fieldlilies' & 'Jesus'. I got the totally inappropriate message that Longing shared. Rather disturbing! When I clicked on the 'contact us' link I only got 'Penthouse' as the business name - also disturbing. What to do? Abandon the site? We are to be light to the world. I am so glad I have never paid them a cent.

hmmmm...well, it is perplexing...if everyone abandoned it...then that isn't going to keep a newcomer from finding the same. Right now it is associating anyone who posts here with that and rather directly.

I can't help but think there are bloggers and posters here who are associated with Bc. Sometimes the arguments seem designed to generate clicks. And then some get unwittingly caught up in that.
