Your mission....if you choose to accept it....

Ok this one is for the Americans........

I have this awesome Bible called the "Rainbow Study Bible". The pages are all colour coded and it is awesome! The only problem is...I can't get it here in Australia. Apparently it isn't published any longer.

Well I figured, there must be Christian bookstores in the US that still stock it. Someone was going to get me one but it kind of didn't happen and today my last Australian option went down the tubes coz this bookstore can't get it.

I want the Bible for my son...so it's kind of has special meaning to it.

Now here's your mission.......visit your local Christian bookstore, and if they have it, give me the phone number of the bookstore and I can call them and have it shipped out to me. Easy huh?

So if you choose to accept this mission...here are the details....

The KJV Rainbow Study Bible
Illustrated Reference Edition

I would so appreciate it.......I'm sure there are bookstores in the US that would still stock it....well I hope so anyways!

Oh and don't worry....this post will not self destruct in 3 minutes!!

Pen have you checked out any online Christian Book distributors? Like CBD, Christian Book Distributors? I would google the name of your bible and see if you can purchase it online...I have found difficult to get items that way, even on ebay. If in the end you cannot find it though I can highly recommend YWAM's (Youth With a Mission) Christian Growth Study Bible...I am on my second one; I use it so much my first one fell apart...I therefore recommend the hardback version. Best wishes in your search!

Thanks Deena! I was just out with my American friend, Tricia and she told me to try lifeway.....apparently that's a real large online store in the US as well. So I will try that one and the one you mentioned and get it mailed to her mother in LA...cheaper postage LOL and she will then bring it back to me in a months time. The Bible you mentioned sounds cool but Brayden really wants the Rainbow Bible. I'll let you know if I get lucky!

Hi Pen

I bought a Rainbow Bible for my former wife, Paula, and they are wonderful Bibles, yes. What most people do not know is that the Rainbow is excellent for people with dyslexia (which my ex-wife had). The blocks of color-coded verses break up the pattern on the page, making it much easier to look at and focus on.

For those of you who haven't seen a Rainbow, the typeface is all black, but the background of the verse is in different colors. The Rainbow uses 12 different colors to signify the topic matter of that verse.

If they ever make one in Life Application style, I will certainly buy it ...

(by the way, they can be expensive, Paula's was 130$ 10 years ago)

The colour blocks sure make it easier to read, Danny. I paid $89 for mine but it's just the imitation leather. I think the leather was almost doubled in price over here at the time. I love this Bible!

Like everyone has said, just Google it. Lots of places to buy it - including the Amazon one. That's where usually buy when I need to find something. You can find the book, then look at 'used' which directs you toward private sellers who go through the Amazon site. Usually get good deals that way!

Hey Pen, I was just thinking about EBay. If you can't find a brand new one anywhere else - try EBay! Love you sister!

I just called my local Christian Book Store - they said they don't make them anymore and have none in stock - but she did say they have been replaced by the "Full Color Study Bible" - don't know if that's helpful or not. I checked on Amazon too and they have some used one's you might be able to order. PJ's idea about E-Bay is good too!!

ms_warriorthingy replies on 10/3/2008 3:48 pm:
My bookstore has the full colour Bible, Marilyn. Apparently this was what replaced the Rainbow one...but they didn't have the Study version. I guess if all else fails, I will check it out and then try to get the Study version....thanks for checking out your store, my friend...I really appreciate the trouble you went to!

Now...BB, did you have to mention chocolate to this Aussie? Good thing she didn't know Jim was carrying a whole truckload of fudge yesterday.
Pen, we laughed about you not knowing about "chocolate". Jim said he could drop a barrell off into the ocean and hope the currents would take it down to your world....but the anticipation would just tear you up...so we just said....mummmmm is the word.

I'll check that out, thanks Hellen! Yeah the shipping can sometimes get nasty with costs!

Pen, Deena is right, I looked and Christianbook has it. Use the usual web beginning and ending and you have the site!
