It was a shocker of a day, as you can tell by my earlier post.....
I was miserable all day, feeling a restlessness in my spirit....I wanted to do something...go somewhere...it was like my boots were made for walkin...and that's just what they wanted to do...
So tonight I decided to visit my old church. Tonight was the youth service and my son sings in the band. I desperately needed to be with people worshipping God....needed it so badly I could barely contain myself waiting!
I prayed desperately for a blessing....I told God...I needed it...I wanted it so bad. I was hurting....needed to feel His presence...needed a touch from my Saviour...
And I got it.....so blessed!
The worship was amazing. I felt like I was transported to the heavenly realms...and I could have sung all night. One of the songs we sang was Chris Tomlin's version of "Amazing Grace"....I cried buckets!
"Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)"
Amazing grace How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me I once was lost, but now I'm found Was blind, but now I see 'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear And grace my fears relieved How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed My chains are gone I've been set free My God, my Savior has ransomed me And like a flood His mercy rains Unending love, Amazing grace
The Lord has promised good to me His word my hope secures He will my shield and portion be As long as life endures
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow The sun forbear to shine But God, Who called me here below Will be forever mine Will be forever mine You are forever mine
I felt His arms comfort me, awed by His presence, His majesty.....
No matter what the devil tries to throw at me, my Saviour protects me with His shield. His banner over me is love.

. Without Absolute Truth, there are only lies disguised as truth, if you know not the Absolute Truth and it is NOT within you, you will embrace a relative truth that fits your eternity, that is presently before you.
Continue to be faithful, deliverance is near, obedience must be seen, be an unconditional blessing as He continues to bless you.
This time is short, serve Him well, serving all.
Without exception.

ms_warriorthingy replies on 9/7/2008 2:20 pm: You know what, Wendy? Perhaps God was wanting to show a whole bunch of people His grace! Last night, was so special.....worshipping with these young people, and I was probably one of the oldest there (even though I'm only 30 really ) and the band just got so into the song....God's presence was so strong, you could just about reach out and touch Him!!! |

And in all this I see His infinite purpose: He is glorified!! Thank you, Pen, for letting God use you. What a wonderful story of victory and gee....what a beautiful, beautiful song! Praise God who can take a poor lost sinner, lift him up from the miry clay and set him free. I will ever tell the story, shouting GLORY, GLORY, GLORY, Jesus saves and He uplifted me.......a song that came to mind, probably wrong words...but it doesn't matter. I lift HIM UP for He is working a wondrous works in you, Pen.

Me TOO!!! I LOVE IT TOO. It is just SOOOO AWESOME when God answers our prayers, it literally gives me goose bumps. I have the gift of singing and LOVE when our church sings this song. I LOVE the OLD version also. I am from the OLD CHURCH way back when and every now and then, we get to sing the "old" Amazing Grace". I cry ALOT too!!! It is SO CLEANSING. Glad you are back on track. Tonya
ms_warriorthingy replies on 9/7/2008 2:28 pm: Thanks Tonya! Yup I love both versions too! Hearing the kids sing this in their "rock ballad" style was kind of awesome, and watching the singers in the band (my son included!)....they were singing from the heart....that was so evident....it was awesome! |

Someday I wish i could worship along side of you. I just know I'd catch a portion of your spirit if I did. I love playing that song in my own church quite often. But why so restless? I better catch up on your last 2 weeks. I'm am here if you need a listening ear.
