Heb 11:6 No one can please God without faith, for whoever comes to God must have faith that God exists and rewards those who seek him. So what is the reward for our faith? Is it faith that He will give us what we want? Is it faith that He will answer prayer the way we want Him to? I think the reward comes just from having Him in our lives. His Holy Spirit, dwelling in our very being! His love, a love that goes beyond description! Being close to Him, the joy He gives with His presence! Knowing our future is secure...an everlasting promise...a future sealed...being in His presence FOREVER! Is there really a reward greater than this?  Penelope Captive of Hope

Jesus said there IS a PHYSICAL SET OF REWARDS here in this life- -FOR FOLLOWING ONLY HIM. To say you would settle for LESS than what Jesus PROMISED YOU IN RETURN FOR OBEDIENCE- is to MAKE ANOTHER EXCUSE FOR NOT FOLLOWING JESUS.  Since we KNOW that JESUS NEVER LIED ABOUT IT- why would ANYONE settle for LESS than what JESUS PROMISED US? YA DON'T HAVE JESUS IN YER LIFE IF YOU AIN'T IN FULL OBEDIENCE TO HIM. And IF yer in full obedience- Then you have ALREADY FOUND AND RECIEVED EVERYTHING HE PROMISED. So. WHAT DID HE PROMISE AS YOUR REWARD FOR FOLLOWINH HIM? Compare what HE said- and what YOU have in your life. PHYSICAL STUFF. Do it match UP- or do it FALL WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY SHORT? But it's OK to settle for less if yer that lazy. He said you'd be kept out of heaven too- for being too lazy to FOLLOW ONLY HIM. By all means- COMPARE YOUR LIFE TO HIS SPECIFIC PROMISES... I agree. The reward for our faith is that we get to be in him presence one day. I can think of no better reward than that. Personally, I think receiving physical "stuff" as a reward for faith or obedience to God is completely ridiculous. God gives as HE sees fit. We can't earn our way to heaven If our faith is as it should be, we will want to do good things for others

I believe our rewards (if we deserve any) are with Him and will be handed out when we get there.  He tells us are reward is in Heaven. To B about the post of scriptures just above-- You DO realize you have fully supported what I have already said in my previous posts above- correct? Yet how many of the "nay sayers" will even SEE that you have indeed proved what I SAID is TRUTH according to the scriptures YOU POSTED? "Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you." (John 15:14) Do we imagine "Love each other" is the ONLY COMMAND HE GAVE THEM? What of the REST of the things Jesus told them to DOOOOOOOOO? "John 3:5 - Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." In this scripture we see a reference to water and spirit- 2 things that Jesus taught them about and they fully understood. "Water" is also interchangeable with "blood" from other scriptures as both refer to something ELSE- yet a third "item" in Jesus "parables" that meant something REAL to the 12. "Spirit" is yet another word that is interchangeable with specific commands and teachings- IE- guiding pure principles that bring the 12 under the exact same mindset and exact same practices when doing what Jesus said for them to DOOOOOOO for The Father. Jesus said the comforter would REMIND THEM ONLY OF JESUS AND WHAT JESUS HAD TAUGHT. NOTHING ELSE. "But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: (Luke 20:35)" This is referred to in Revelation 14:4. Why would this be important? Because married people have "divided allegiances". YOu CAN NOT TAKE YOUR FOCUS OFF OF CHRIST AND EXPECT TO FOLLOW HIM PERFECTLY. And of course the clincher about "earthly rewards" that we are to RECEIVE FROM THE FATHER FOR OUR SERVICE %O HIS SON- "And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake, Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting. (Luke 18:29-30)" When we couple this one with Mathew 6:33- it PUTS THE LIE TO REWARDS ONLY WHEN YOU DIE. The rest simply supports the idea of DO WHAT I HAVE TOLD YOU TO DO AND THE REWARDS WILL COME WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT. Cuz GOD doesn't "HIRE" you and then FORGET TO REWARD YOUR SERVICE. "Ye are BOUGHT WITH A PRICE"- He OWNS YOU. AND HE REWARDS HIS SERVANTS IN THIS LIFE. But ya hasta OBEY JESUS PERFECTLY. And JEsus said THAT was easy and light.Soooooooo who STILL thinks ya ONLY get "rewards" after ya DIE? Cuz "GOD IS NOT A GOD OF THE DEAD- But the LIVING." Sinners don't GET into heaven ... never did- and never will. Ya either STOP SINNING while yer here- or claim yer spot in hell. Jesus said so. Now WHO BELIEVES JESUS? Stand and deliver then. YOU said you just COULDN'T participate Cuz yer TOO DIRT POOR TO GIVE ANYTHING AT ALL TO SOMEONE ELSE. And I made SURE you could OVERCOME THAT BARRIER. There isn't a "Hurting heart" here warriorthingie. What there IS - is a hope that God will show YOU that YOUR life is so far out of line from HIS WILL FOR YOU- that you'll WAKE UP AND LEAD OTHERS BACK TO HIS SON and what HIS SON TAUGHT. So far - all I see in you is denial and utter desire to live in your failed faith in a set of bogus teachings. What you wrote reminded me of Pastor Richard Wurmbrand and when he was in solitary confinment in a horrible Communist prison for 2-3 years. In that place he had absolutely NOTHING but his faith and had also been tortured and starved. And yet it was there that he came to know Christ in such a way that had not been possible before and he stated that it was there that he came to really know the God. God was the truth, and the Bible was the truth about the truth, theology was the truth about the truth about the truth..... but he came to truly know Him who was the Truth. His faith was tried in the fire and came out as good as gold. And God used him mightily for the rest of his earthly life-and before that as well. Let your gentleness be evident to all.
