Us girls at work were having a long winded convo today about what type of men we go for. It was interesting to see the different personalities, and the types of men they were attracted to. Everyone was waiting for my predictable response coz they all know I'm a Christian, but of course I had to elaborate, rather than just give them the "godly man" response. It got me to thinking why we are attracted to certain types of men or women. For me, I kind of like a man with "grunt"!! It baffles me coz I am very much a girly girl and I am soooooooo blinkin romantic, it's sickening!! But I have always gone for the less than romantic he man kind of man! Why is that???? Shouldn't I be yearning for the guy who whispers flowery words in my ear and writes sonnets about the way my eyes sparkle in the moonlight???? What the blinkin heck is wrong with me???? Now don't get me wrong, I do need some romance, but when the grunty man romances me, it's more romantic than when a sweet romantic guy romances me......what's with that???? So what about you? what are your preferences? And if any guys happen to look in.....what do you look for in a woman? Pen I don't have a list of such a man as I am trusting the Lord in that department, but I know that he will be a man of integrity, very trustworthy, honours the Lord and is first place in his life. As for me personally I have been a total failure at choosing the right partner in the past. I have handed this responsability up to my Father and husband in Heaven as He knows far better than I do! What woman doesn't want to be romanced? I believe that a true Godly man no matter of his personality type would have a deep personal relationship with the Lord and his heart would be to genuinely seek out how to love his future bride. A loving, giving caring man would already have the capacity to be romantic, but not by earthly measures. Who knows Pen when my beloved may come as a gift from God when I least expect it! . Some one who tends to be short and quite skinny to begin with, leaves room for later expansion? For some reason one tends to look a the opposite through the lens of the respective parent, go figure? My mother was this way, is she? My mother was not like this, is she? You want the best qualities of mum and not the few questionable qualities of mum? Maybe that is just me? I am sure if my grand mother had lived longer there would have been a few more qualities to filter them through? I hear that women tend to do the same with respect to their fathers? That is why Godly parents are so important, Godly examples growing up are priceless. Know? Yes? ? . .

Personal attributes: Seeks God's will in ALL and is obedient to God; loyal, loves music, loves traveling, has an appreciation for all that God has so wonderfully created; knows to have humility is real strength; biblical leader and wants marriage to be God based, blessed and spiritual growth together in the intimacy with our Lord. Will love and adore his wife for a lifetime. Physical attactiveness: Tall, gentle eyes, and a mild muscular build is great.

If I wasn't married: I would want a man's man! Strong but gentle! Big and muscular with a hairy chest. I don't want no man I can put a hook in his nose and lead him around. He must be the head of the family. I don't want Him submitting to me BUT he must submit to God. If he submits to God then it would be easy for me to submit to him. I would like for him to love God more than I do, have a stronger faith than I do. SO he can pull me up even farther and deeper in God. He needs to follow Jesus so I can follow him. I'm just dreaming you know.  Lord, keep one hand on my shoulder and one hand over my mouth!

Oh, I like a man with grunt AND loving, romantic ways like JIM!! Oolala....some of you ladies passed up a real gem....for he rocks my world. When Jim says, "Let me do my man-thing"....I love it...for that means he is taking care of me in more ways than one (plans the trip, has everything in order for a wonderful time...even the food like the lobster he fixed for me at a picnic!) Sigh... Grrr....I got a tiger in my tank. OK...need I say more?   gentle, strong, loving, all man, but all romantic too. Jim knows how to love me...and gee...I'm not even to the marriage part yet. I can't wait.You go, girlie girl!!! Pass the chocolates or a cold glass of water ...maybe I just need a cold shower Did I really write this?? Pen, stop it!! It's all your fault.

Pen, the qualities I look for in a man are: loving Christ at a deep level, able to be spiritual leader over me, honesty, romantic, sensitive, and yes....some grunt too. But give me Jesus over anyone and I'm happy. Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness!

In the past, I've gone for the "grunt" too. Manly man "Me Tarzan, You Jane" type. And I ended up with a big jerk who only cared about what HE wanted when HE wanted it. (But he DID occasionally pound his chest and do the Tarzan yell (I AM NOT MAKING THAT UP!!!) But the last go around, (long and well over now) spoiled my taste for that type. Now I know what I really want. The soul of a poet, who cares what I need. Someone who will take me for a walk on the beach not only because HE likes it, but because he knows it will make me happy. He loves music. He can make me laugh until I spit my coffee, and will even laugh at my pitiful antics. Bonus if he likes Sci-Fi, but not required. He's passionate but moral, striving to keep within Godly boundaries. Mostly, he seeks the Heart of God, because IF he truly loves God, then he will by extension, love me. He wouldn't be able to help it, because love is the Nature of God. And I don't give a rat's patoot what kind of external package he comes wrapped in, either. I guess I needed the last total disaster to teach me the truth about what I really want. I think because I'm sooo girly girl, I really appreciate the 'manly man' type. I become uncomfortable with men who are too easily moved to tears, too much like a 'girlfriend'. It's so hard to define, but there is that type of man that is ALL masculine guy, yet can share those romantic moments, such as Amanda (Gracestillamazes) talks about. And along with that goes my enjoyment of a man who 'looks good' to me. That doesn't mean he's a movie star - it means he looks good to ME. It goes without saying that we must be on the same page spiritually, intellectually, emotionally and physically. I've met many wonderful MOGs with whom I can fellowship and have friendship but there must also be that mental and physical attraction in order for it to turn into more. One thing I've learned from the recent break up is that all the pieces can appear to be there and it STILL isn't right! Whew . . . Strong silent with a twinkle in his eye, I like strong arms, a man who does what a man has to do, stands up for what he believes in and gentle when he needs to be, cant stand couch potatoes! I like a man who owns and is able to use a tool box, when something needs fixing, he can fix it! Wish I had one with a cordless drill, I need to put some timber on the bottom of my gate, so my lil dog doesnt get stuck again! Today I'm going to buy some quick dry cement to put along under the gate! Ah well, looks like I'll have to buy a drill!

I like a man with some grunt too - he got out his hammer and fixed an old rocking chair at his place and he's offered to do odd jobs at my house too. I also like a man that is willing to open your car door and when you kiss him he says "you take my breath away" - oh my goodness this man makes my heart smile. And he doesn't get scared when I want to talk about an issue - he says "let's have a face to face talk when you get here" and he really listens instead of reading the newspaper and nodding his head once in awhile. And we make homemade ice cream together and he cooks great omelettes and he planned a picnic in the mountains. And he's already given me the key to his apartment and the key to his heart. And we pray together every day and have Bible studies often and go to church together every chance we get. Yes, I'm talking about Michael. Maybe I got the best of both worlds - grunt and romantic!!  How can we NOT praise Him - Marilyn

I like a guy that will talk about his life and be interested in what's going on in mine. I hate that "How was your day, dear?" "Fine" End of conversation. Of course, I love that romantic talk, but I would take a sense of humor over that. I don't need big and brawny, just bigger than me!! Oh, and PASSION!! Passion for God and for our relationship. Oh, and he would have to love to kiss, cause I like that....I like it alot! AAAHHHHHH.........let me just think about that kissing for awhile.......

Crikey Pen I never even added knows what Jewellery n perfume to buy me or takes me out to brekkie just becos, or can fix whatever or pay someone else to, plays piano sonatas to me, teaches me classical guitar, buys me a sax cos its my fav instrument and wanna learn it, digs my garden so I can plant food n flowers, and sits on the couch watching a good movie hugging cus he loves me...and thats not even the back scrub in the shower yet!! Be kind girlfriend!  And its just a dream by the way Pen, I dont actually have many expectations in real life, but loves God is a must, hard working is essential and all male is the rest...God knows what's He's doing  and its later rather than sooner I feel, but I could be wrong about that too. We'll see Luv is patient, kind, unselfish, hopes 4 the best...
