I have been in countless relationships, dates, fix-ups, since my divorce and custody battle ending in the early ninties. I think a person should be fully aware of their vulnerabilities at the start of any relationship. I think being vulnerable at the start of a relationship (and I have been) usually will not last or condemned to a life of unhappiness! It unwittingly helps us get over a previous relationship that was painful. You must learn from it or it will repeat over and over! I have learned this. I believe for a real relationship to get a foothold after the initial attraction is maturity on both sides. To be able to sit down and discuss things "anything" in a mature manner. Not to blurt out hurtful things in an angry manner. To think this will mend itself or just go away. That the past is just that! "The past". After all this then I believe the future is yours..All yours. With Christ in the relationship whats to stop the both of you. I have met and dated Christian woman in the past two years and they are Wonderful..Great! But you both can sense after a week or two if there is something there. A possible great friendship or a real loving relationship or neither. Friendships are great also but are a little more complicated for a man and a woman to be just friends. I can be a friend, a greatfriend if allowed. Which brings me to why do I feel this way, this Love I have for Terrie. (Racefan) When I first went to meet her after conversing for a while via email, texts, etc. I was thinking she was this quiet, mousey, shy kind of a girl. It made me nervous! What if she didnt talk very much in person? What if she had a funny look on her face when she met me? What if? All the insecurities rushing in. When I approached her driveway I noticed her vanity plates. I almost turned around because of irrational fear..DUH! I didnt want to approach the door. There were other vehicles there to add to my self imposed irrational thinking. My other fear was what if she was more shy than me? Not helping with the convers-ation. I have never gotten this bad since my teens. I called her and pretended I wasnt sure I was in her driveway hoping for her to come out. She came out to meet me. That very moment is stamped on my mind forever. That smile! That genuine hospitality. Immediately making me feel very comfortable. She was genuine. And she can hold a conversation with the Pope if need be. It totally flipped around. I have a hard time thinking since Ive met her. Im tongue tied often! Ive dated very smart woman. They cant hold a candle to her. Since that moment in time we have read together, fish, prayed, saw many sunsets together. Its like weve known each other for many years. One of my favorite things about her is her ability to be able to make me laugh at myself. I have always been able to laugh at myself but not to the degree she has made me laugh. Enough to have to hold my sides while laughing many times. Laughter I havent felt in years...no kidding! We have one problem that we have been working on. We have evolved into very independent people. Being single parents will do this to a degree along with surviving in this world. We both know how to survive alone if needed. We can be stubborn. Both strongwilled people. We started off with our guards up. The walls have come down to a great degree. We have talked like I never have been able to do in any relationship. There are things we debated that would have ended any previous relationship. We have butted heads a few times and said some silly things to each other. We separated ourselves. Only way for us to truly think. To really think. However I simply LOVE being around her. To be in the same room with her. Even when we are both occupied on these computers or even doesnt even know Im there. I simply LOVE being around her. When she talks about our Lord JESUS CHRIST. When she laughs. She constantly melts my heart. Im head over heels in LOVE with her. This woman of GOD |

This is sooooooo neat, congrats to you both, your maturity and honesty speaks to us all. I am so excited for the two of you. We deserve happiness and truth and comfort on this end of life. May GOD continue to strengthen and bless you in this relationship, so others will find hope and peace. I like you have been blessed with an amazing love also, sent from GOD above on June 26 !!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot think of another thing that would bless Terrie more than to read what you have written about her. It makes my heart soar, that there are still people who can express themselves in such a vulnerable way and yet be so strong at the same time. You are both very blessed to have one another. Terrie has always been such an encouragement to me, a humble and genuine lady. I pray that your relationship goes from strength to strength...I'm so very happy for you both

Alan, reading your decloration of love for Terrie and hers for you is almost word for word my own love story, with my Beloved. I know the difference of being in love with someone, and being in love with God's special someone! It is totally incomprehensable and awesome! I am so happy for the two of you, and share your joy! B2 wow.......do you have any idea how precious it is for a woman to hear these things from the man she loves? You are an awesome guy and Terrie is an awesome woman. This probably sounds silly....but right now I am crying so blinkin hard! What you have both found is something very precious. To be able to weather the storms, weather the getting to know each other period, the ups and downs....and still come out smiling and together...that is a beautiful testimony of what this relationship is all about.
